But I wanted it this year :(

Why do you say that? Persona and SMT series has sold very well in the West. Especially with the exposure of Persona 4 and all the spin offs, what makes you say it won't be a very good seller? It may not sell as much as Tomb Raider or Halo, but it'll still do damn well on its own.

No, I meant "Fall 2015 in the west", I don't think it will be released in 2015.

The reaction to the latest video was insane. It was the #1 trending topic worldwide on Twitter for nearly an hour, not something that happens very often for a video game announcement, let alone just a new trailer.

It is indeed a bold statement but it's one I believe.

I personally think that it will sell between 1 and 2 million but nothing more. It's going to be this year GOTY though.

It has already been announced for 2015 in the west, but yeah with this generation it's more reasonable to expect a delay.

I can't remember when was the last time Naughty Dog needed a delay. I have faith that if they requested one it was so they could truly deliver what they envision for the title. It's a testament to the trust Sony has in them that they would allow the delay of their flagship beyond the holiday season.

Keep your expectations in check. Expect over 1 million, anything over would be great.(worldwide)

Persona 4 Golden, a Vita title, has shipped at least 700k units worldwide, and probably sold a good more digital, it's likely close to 1 million.

Don't think it's crazy to expect a PS4 Persona to at least double that.

TLOU was delayed.

I don't think it's confirmed for a simultaneous release, but they are both scheduled for 2015.

I expect Japan will get it in the late summer and it'll hit NA in the fall/winter.

Which is fine. We've seen games either never come here or get delayed by a year for us to get it. *cough*SE and NOA*cough*.

TLOU was delayed.

And easily for the better. In hindsight, I can't imagine the quality would of been the same if they didn't delay it.

A DriveClub Season Pass #2 and a Splinter Cell: Blacklist (Definitive Remaster Edition) and I'll pretend none of this ever happened.

Full version of Driveclub for PS+ and complete remakes of Splinter Cell, Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow, and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory with current gen visuals -- all in one package.

Hopefully they have a Uncharted Collection this holiday season. At the moment, X1 has a brighter holiday with Halo 5 and Tomb Raider. Hopefully we get some more positive news this E3.

...and Forza Motorsport 6.

Just waking up to see this. Well shit.

My first thought : FUCK

My second thought : Miyamotoquote.jpg

My third thought : In any case, with Tomb Raider and Halo 5 coming out this year, what exactly does Sony have in the holiday season to combat them? Are they giving the US and UK holidays to MS again!?

There are some people even predicting that it'll sell over a million in Japan alone.
For consoles, that would be like matching FFXIII sales in Japan and Japan was hyped for that game.

H1Z1 and No Man's Sky, comes to mind. I'd be perfectly happy with those titles too if they were great.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

God No

Please let this be a dream

OMG why?

Uggghhh

Well, the game would be better for it I guess.

Enjoy buying a bunch of Halo: Master Chief Collections. Takes 100+ days and handfuls of patches to get the experience you'll get with a delayed Uncharted game, that will probably be delayed for the same amount of time you're frustratingly attempting to play your broken game before it finally gets fixed.

I'm not saying a game should not be delayed if needed. But if a game needs to be delayed to release properly, how is it a good thing?

If more time is needed for development then a delay is good news. You are right that it won't mean that the game will be good just because it got delayed but the same goes for without a delay.

I wish more devs got as much time as they needed to fully work on their vision for the game and make it in their eyes the best product as possible without being forced to release it since a date that was set in the past says so.

I don't see delay as good news, never, when it comes to gaming releases. A delay probably means a bad schedule preview, or that the development itself is going slower then it should. And neither seems good to me... a delay may not be the worst thing to happen to a game development, but its not good. What is good is to schedule it right, and to see that everything is going as expected with the development.

We should be waiting until this E3 to see what secret sauce Sony are having for this Fall line-up . I don't think they will easily give up.

Anything could happen, it is easily, and I mean EASILY, the biggest JRPG console release since FFXIII. It is also really hard to determine just how much the series has grown. It will be interesting to see.

I'll be damned! Atlus releasing Japanese version and the west version simultaneously? Didn't think I'll see this happening at all.

They are not. They are trying to make it close though.

I'm not going to say that this makes me happy because I was waiting for this game and I'm going to wait longer.

But it would pissed me more if the game is released rushed and without being polished.

But, if after this delay, the game is not the fucking best Uncharted ever made and/or feels uncompleted, rushed or broken... I'm not going to spend one single euro in another of their games

I don't see them selling much worse, if at all, even if they stayed the course price-wise after Halo 5 drops. The narrative has basically been written for this generation, MS pretty much has to throw in the kitchen sink to move consoles at the pace ps4 is on.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I assume PS4 is going to win the top spot for holidays WW. It wouldn't even surprise me if it took the top spot for Holidays NPD. I was mostly responding to the "3 times as much", which in hindsight might have just been a figure of speech.

I wonder how much 'selling power' Halo has at this point. It's obviously still a big name, but the series' hype peaked between Halo 2 and 3.
Well, it's true that Halo 4 didn't make Halo 3 numbers (both in sales and online players, etc) but I'd wait for Halo 5 before officially declaring that the series peaked at 3. I could be wrong, of course, but as I've said before, Microsoft has never failed to push Halo as an entertainment event of great magnitude. I see no reason to think it'll be different this time.

edit: I guess Halo 5 should prove whether it was really Bungie that made Halo what it was, not the Microsoft Marketing Machine. It'll be interesting.

With U4 getting pushed back and Sony not having any AAA titles announced for the Holiday (E3 might drop some bombs), it looks like Sony could lean heavily on Destiny once again to help carry them through. There is going to be some big content update around then right? Can't remember the leaked timeline...

alright. they'll give whatever fluff explanation as to why the game was delayed. in the past they said it was "really fucking hard" to do 1080p/60fps and said they wouldn't even do it if it compromises player experience.

does anybody think they've delayed because they're think they found a way for it to work but need the time to make sure?

If this game ends up being significantly improved by the delay then that's good but a delay is still disappointing.

I'll probably be at uni when this comes out, so hopefully it'll be out course to the easter holidays so I get to play it close to Launch.

Potential lost sales are much larger now. Doubt the deal will make up for the extra 2 or 3 million it could have possibly sold on PS4 this Fall with Uncharted out of the way. Then it probably has to compete with it on PS4 any way now when the deal is over.

We have know idea what the deal involves, MS had the money to keep Titanfall off the PS4. But we know Tomb Raider is coming to PS4 (at the moment) so not all PS4 sales will be lost.

Its possible they wanted a large chunk of money upfront rather than wait 12months for the game to be released.

Probably good news for the game, but very bad news for Sony. Another year without high-profile exclusive software for the holidays.

PS4 will continue selling on inertia, but two years without big holiday titles is ridiculous.

So how is this bad news exactly for Sony. Bad news only for fans of Uncharted and of course the competition. Console is selling gangbuster already. Imagine what will happen when the big hitters start dropping.

Amongst many other equally likely possibilities, sure. E3 would be a good indicator
