Uncharted 4 delayed two weeks to May 10

Just unfreeze me a bit later than previously thought.
 
Annoying. I'd already booked a couple of days off work now I'll have to change the dates again. Only two weeks before Mirror's Edge Catalyst too.
 
I'm usually fine with a game being delayed once maybe twice for polish etc, but pushing an already-delayed game two weeks out like this seems kind of odd especially this late in production cycle.

It seems like this is so that they can make more physical copies almost, but that sounds really odd..

Maybe it had to do with gathering data from multi-player beta coming up and making sure servers are ready?
 
On one hand, I'm happy it's out of a packed April. On the other hand, it was my most anticipated game of April.

I guess I'll just play more Dark Souls III.

Software development is hard and sometimes it can be unpredictable but it still shouldn't be an excuse for developers to constantly delay their own previously set release dates. No one forced ND/Sony to give an exact date if they weren't sure about being able to meet it. When you give your product an exact release date and then delay it, twice, then you are sure as hell being incompetent in that regard.

Wow, you really like that word incompetent! During development a lot of things may happen and delays for big budget games are something normal! Something always pops up in the slat minute and it's up to the developer to decide if they are going to delay or add with a patch later on! Sony has huge trust in ND and that's why they allow freedom (and in other studios)!

For an incompetent company, Sony is sure as hell doing a great job with their gaming division and the PS4!
 
This suits me perfectly. I am away for the weekend with the missus on the date it was originally coming out here. Plus now it will launch on the same day worldwide, I wasn't pleased about the 2 day UK delay originally.
10th May booked off :)
 
If I had to pull some tales out of my ass regarding this, I'd speculate that the delay this time around wasn't due to Naughty Dog's insistence but rather the Sony execs. The line of thinking behind it is that they don't want two major first-party releases clashing with each other, so they're being spaced apart a bit more. Which does make sense, but is still really frickin' annoying for anyone counting down the days until Uncharted 4 comes out.

These problems aren't exclusive to ND, tho. It's the same for other devs and yet, you don't see most of them delay their games after revealing their exact release dates, twice.

But hey, it's ND so I'm sure they aren't to be blamed. Yep, that can't be it.

Also, let's not turn this into a BS console war thingy, okay? I say Sony because ND is a property of them and they are the publishers of this game.
 
Well, sad news, but gives my wallet a breath of fresh air after Ratch & Clank, Dark Souls and Quantum Break.
 
I'm ok with it. I'll be busy playing and replaying Ratchet at that time and also Dirt Rally so i'm fine with the delay. However, it feels strange that Naughty Dog had so many troubles during the development of UC4. Hopefully that will not reflect in the quality of the game (at this point i still assume the game will be fantastic).

Calm down will you? First of all your too vocal on the matter, do not know why, do not care!
Second of all, i do not see an issue nor a problem here, the game is delayed with only two weeks and you are going ape crazy, seriously?!?

And lastly, what BS console war thingy are you talking about, i've just pointed out that calling incompetent Sony (and ND) is incompetent! As mentioned in my previous post Sony gives freedom to their studios, understand it once because i hate to repeat myself! They will never force ND or any other studio to release a product that the dev is not confident in!!!

But please since you like to complain and point finger about a 2 weeks delay, do not mind me. Keep the incompetent fight alive! ;)

Sometimes I think we are the same person or brothers just living in another country. I wanted to do the same and already hyped everyone up. :(

I'm actually as calm as I can be, thank you. I'm a Souls fan (check my history) so the extra wait really means nothing to me since I'll be playing DS III for the entire duration of it.

I just don't like how people on GAF act like ND (and few other devs) can do nothing wrong even when something like this happens, which clearly is a fault on their part.

Buy hey don't mind me, continue with your ND praising.

That's a bit unfair.

All studios have their hardcore fans.
Just look at the From software ferver on Gaf that they can also almost do no wrong.

It happens and is totally normal.
And tbf I think you're making a mountain out of a molehill calling the devs incompetent etc, when they likely work their asses off to meet all deadlines.

The fact that Shawn Layden wrote this, rather than Neil and Bruce (like the last delay) makes me think this is more about business and less about development. At least now I don't have to wait three days while everyone else gets to play it.
 
Sales if this game will be something else, all my friends have it pre ordered wich is insane, never happened before.

Everyone on Playstation now somehow know Uncharted, thing will sell 10m easily.
 
The things they do for their golden boys. If U3 had so much time to get done instead for the idiotic set date 11.11.11 it would have been much better too.
 
Great. I'm sick of all these games coming out and having shitting launches with major issues that get fixed a week later. I just hope two weeks is enough.
 
Doesn't bother me at all. I want them to take all the time they need for this game. Two weeks isn't much of a delay and the wait will surely be worth it.
