I have to be honest I really wonder if this has to do with the trailer issue. We saw in it that Drake can play in a 3D environment that (at least for part of it) was directly ripped off from that concept art. If they have to change that somewhat that's easily a few weeks of work to modify and playtest.

I'm sure the game will be amazing but sorry, this is called mismanagement.
You don't make multiple delays announcements like this, even if from March to May is still a relatively small delay.
Also the manufacturing thing sounds like an excuse, especially in a digital world.

I'm sorry the game got delayed but if it means it can become a stronger title and that Ratchet has more breathing room, that is great in my book .
