How I wish GT was still around. Perhaps they should have resurrected themselves just for today, and give U4 a 9.3 for shits and giggles.

I wonder if there is an average score that won't stoke the fires of flame. Not too high, not too low. UC3 thread was fun

I really do hope it reviews well. It's kind of carrying the beacon for cinematic story driven AAA third person linear shooters right now. After the critical performance of games like Quantum Break and The Order 1886, I'm hoping Uncharted 4 cements that actually the genre is still very much able to get to those previous critical heights, so long as the quality is there. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Agree completely, I also feel it's extremely important for this game to score well, this genre need an amazing game after so much time, and not amazing 86 MC ROTTR style, I want ND to prove that this style of game can sit next to TW3, MGS5 and other games that got 9+ MC this gen.

The most important thing is sale (don't worry about this one though) because we need to let publishers know that not everygame needs to be open-world with checklist missions

Agree. When QB failed to hit critically, it scared me for the entire linear story-driven action genre set.

Can you imagine being a publisher, putting in tens of millions of dollars into a new IP, which is a single-player only game that takes years to build and 10 hours to complete... and then it reviews only okay and sells only okay, not enough to recoup the budget? Will you ever take that risk again?

And then you read the reviews, and you see the criticisms -- too much like a movie but not a good story... too linear... not enough replay value... no multiplayer.... Gee, I wonder if that'll encourage you to stick to your old open-world IP next time, or focus on online-heavy games?

Not just shooters like Uncharted or QB either. Think back to God of War III. Sweet game, good seller. But it's 6 hours long, ridiculously expensive. Why would you take that risk again in the future? One entry that fails to hit can kill an independent studio.

Shit, Epic even complained about Gears being too risky and expensive, to the point where they went FTP. Ugh.

Is it stupid that I'm more hyped to see the reception than the game itself...kind of...?

I mean I love this series, I know this game is incredible, but I'm excited for ND and the Uncharted gang for the send off, and the press reception seems like such an event.

30 goddamn minutes!

Ooooohhh that would be a mess. That review thread will go down in history like BVS and Uncharted 3.

It's really telling how sad reviews were last gen when you put U3, a game with 92 MC (undeserved imo) next to BvS, a movie with 40 MC (deserved) as two review threads that had many meltdowns.

I really hope we passed the days in videogames than a 92 MC can cause a meltdown.

Oh boy, less than 30 minutes now.

Final predictions:

IGN - 10/10
Gamespot - 9/10
Polygon - 8/10
Giantbomb - 4/5
Eurogamer - Recommended
The Meta Average - 90

Just came back from the store, bought a dozen plates and 10 glasses so I can rage Greek-wedding style as soon as I see the first 8.5 pop up.

The review thread has the potential to be beautiful.

I'm really excited for it.

7/10. Just imagine it. It's what dreams are made of.

You're not alone lol. I paused Ratchet and Clank for this.
I'm way too hype to see the reception. I think more so because of how it seems like a lot of games haven't really gotten REALLY high scores within the last 2+ years. Plus this is Uncharted after all. xD

Lucy O'Brien of IGN tweeted that her review-in-progress of Uncharted 4 goes live in half an hour, does that mean no immediate score? being a review-in-progress?
