Alright, so what must Hillary win from here on out? Just one of Michigan, Nevada, and Wisconsin? Or 2 out of three? Or three out of three?

So how much of an impact will this have on climate change?

Trump won't go forward with the Paris Agreement. He'll push for coal and also get rid of the EPA.

So we're pretty much screwed. All for business and profit at the expense of the earth and people's health.

I'm going to go on a long rant here and I'm sure in this fast moving thread no one will read it, but it's going to be at least a little cathartic. I'm also going to put this forum on blast a bit.

You know, I'm just going to take a moment to say that some of us tried to warn so many of you. The whole "social justice warrior" online movement or whatever you want to call it that this forum in particular has come to be dominated by. Shame and spite do not do anything to help one's cause.

Unrepentantly calling all white people racists and bigots and sexists and misogynists is what brought this on. I've joked on here about voting for and supporting Trump, but god knows I never actually did. But I've always been able to at least sympathize with those "deplorables" for the blatant hypocrisy on the left when it comes to all of those social issues that dominate social media these days.

too many people on the left, and on GAF especially, remind me of the conservatives in the years following 9/11 under Bush. Everything was viewed through a polarizing, black and white filter. You are either with us or with the terrorists. You are either a ____ist or you're not.

You can't demonize and shame people and expect they'll agree with you. They'll only dig their heels in further, especially if they feel attacked.

This is some real truth here, folks:
All the people who are very likely or even (ugh) probably going to put Donald fucking Trump in the White House tonight are not voting because they hate women or blacks or mexicans or whoever else. I'm also not saying that the hatred isn't a factor, because it's been shown repeatedly that at least on some level it's an animating force for all of this... but people are complex animals but you've turned them into cartoon villains and stereotypes without every trying to understand them or why they actually feel the way they do.

Polarization is bad. The right has been polarized for a long time, but now the left is too, and it's biting them back hard tonight. If Trump wins and has the House and Senate behind him, this is literally the end of America as we know it and the beginning of a new BRIC nation world alignment. That's really fucking bad.

I do feel like there are some good thoughts in here.

Oh dear.

Pretty scarey times to be honest. I don't think a President Trump would start world war 3 or anything but the US could become a that much more brutal place under him :/

I should have been worried when I started seeing all these spirit bomb memes.

That damn thing almost never worked

Great post that I agree with 100%. I've served several GAF bans in the past for trying to say the same thing far less eloquently. If you demonize an entire group of people don't expect them to come around. You do have to change people's minds. You can't just make snarky remarks and tell them to educate themselves. The price of progress is you have to work for it. And yes, it's exhausting.

Michigan is like that one girl in Game of Thrones who was the leader of a Northern region or whatever. We need you to side with Jon Snow and Sansa now, Michigan.

Everything I'm seeing everywhere else still says that the election is in the air. While Trump is far closer than he should be, it's not the end just yet. I'm still willing to hold out hope for a better future (or a future period).

I'm going to take a long, long walk with my dog and just try not to think of this.

Unless Hillary manages to drag victory back in by the teeth, my future is gone. I'm so depressed I can't feel anything anymore.

Stay strong, everyone. I know how it feels to be suicidal, please don't succumb to the thoughts. Don't let them win.

I hope the DNC will see this as a wake up call, regardless of the outcome.

There is no reason the map shouldn't look like this:

Hillary should've dropped an attack ad in the style of the Daisy ad from the Johnson-Goldwater election. That spot alone probably blew up the Goldwater campaign. Stirring nuclear fears always works.

Thank you for this. +1

Honestly, if HRC and the DNC lose to a zombie candidate like Trump who doesn't even have the support of his own party, with a Republican establishment that is disintegrating.... it's on them.

DNC shouldn't have anointed Hilary as heir apparent. Fucking hell.

i turned o the tel... ITs best to just get through the all the steps o greing and just accept... it will get better. i know it...:D take a shower, we need to get organized better..

Trump is going to make George W Bush look like Washington, Lincoln and FDR all rolled into one.

Republicans are going to get rewarded for their fuckery with the Supreme Court.

The only thing that's really sobering to me right now is that the fact that blatant white supremacy and xenophobia won means it's not really anything new in this country, is it? We'll fight like we always have.

I'm disappointed, Americans.
People who are seriously thinking about suicide: don't be silly.
You are still living in a (comparatively) good country.
