I could not resist the $170 borderlands bundle.. so now I finally own a Vita! also bought Persona 4 and Tearaway with it.

OP's list is very helpful to new owners like me, definitely getting more than a few of those games.

Project Light is a PSM game. Baka Neko (yes, that's the developer's screen name) previously developed Night Riders, a PSM title inspired by Super Hang-on and Outrun. He does the low poly look quite decently IMO.

Whats the deal with the new PSvita 2000? Better option? Worse option? I'm hoping to pick one up for use with an upcoming PS4!

EDIT- Australian if that matters

The 2000 is a better machine than the original. Better ergonomics, better battery life, micro USB. The screen is very good, don't let the "dat oled" meme get in your way.

Got myself a new vita. Had an OG & a pitiful 8gb card last year, went with the slim and a 64gb beast this time round though, think I'll be using this thread plenty. That surprises me now is how diversified things seem to have become. People say it's only an indie/japanese machine but seems like there's plenty my girlfriend and boy will enjoy too. Good times.

Vita's library of games is already a diverse and rich one. With all genres. Even when a mayority are indie or niche vita has some exclusive games( or versions) worthy of the machine. Gravity rush, soul sacrifice delta, freedom wars, p4g, muramasa rebirth, Murasaki baby, Ys,killzone mercenary, little big planeta vita and many more are just examples of what is worth buying the system for. I bought it for Gravity Rush and it is one of my favorite games.

Buy Soul Sacrifice Delta

Sounds good. I enjoy VNs when on a commute/between classes/etc. even if they're not my favourite genre when I'm having dedicated gaming time.

I wasn't aware there were problems. What happened with the Wii U release?

The NA version released with some glaring technical problems and it still hasn't been patched (although a patch is supposedly in development). The EU version which was released end of November came out in all regions except Germany (you know, the tiny gaming market of Germany) because Ludosity was afraid that they might have not made their money back. Don't get me started on that..

Tokyo New World Record: Operation Babel (sequel to Operation Abyss).

I'm still waiting for someone to pick up localization of the first game. Which western publisher 5pb. works with, I'm not sure. NISA maybe?

There's Stranger of the Sword City coming next month in Japan too.

NIS America is bringing Tokyo New World Record: Operation Abyss to North America and Europe in spring 2015 as Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy, the publisher announced.

The Experience-developed PS Vita sci-fi dungeon RPG will be available as both a physical and digital release.

To investigate these mysterious phenomena, the government has established the Code Physics Agency. Players join the Xth Squad, a unique group of teenagers modified by the Code Physics Agency’s Code technology, and must evade traps, defeat monsters, and investigate to discover the mystery behind the Abyss.

About

From the studio that made Demon Gaze comes Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy, a sci-fi dungeon crawler RPG set in a near future Tokyo. With the city under the constant threat of Variants—genetically engineered monsters—and the emergence of portals leading to a mysterious dimension called the Abyss, the government has established the Code Physics Agency to investigate these mysterious phenomena. The Xth Squad—a unique group of teens modified by the CPA’s Code technology—must evade traps, face down powerful monsters, and investigate the mystery behind the Abyss.

Key Features

Robust Customization System - Recruit and train a unique group of six Xth members to venture into the Abyss. Customize each member from one of ten distinct Blood Codes. Each Xth member’s appearance, class, personality, morality, and stats may be molded to the player’s preference.
An Accessible, Yet Deep Dungeon Crawler - The labyrinthine dungeons of New Tokyo offer 40+ hours of dungeon crawling action with traps, secret doors, challenging enemies, and gorgeous art throughout.
A Unique Cyberpunk Story - Dive into the unique dungeon crawler setting of Operation Abyss and lose yourself in the gorgeous world, featuring real-life locations rendered by Tetsu Kurosawa and Oxijiyen. A gripping story blends heavy sci-fi elements with a setting to give the game a unique cyberpunk feel.

*One of the most unexpected announcements for the Vita by far is the localization of the much-loved visual novel adventure Steins;Gate . If you've heard about this, you're likely getting it. If not, keep your eyes on it if you care at all for story-based games, especially visual novels as this is a very, very worthy title apparently. The game will be published by PQube. The basic premise of the plot, thanks to pocketgamer.co.uk is the plot "follows a bunch of friends around Tokyo as they discover a way to change the past through sending text messages back in time". (Thanks for the heads up on this baekshi!)

*Release date update - on the topic of visual novels, Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters will be released in NA shores on March 10, 2015 courtesy of Aksys Games. The PAL version's date will be announced by NIS who is handling publishing duties in those regions.

*NIS America will be localizing Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy (thanks baekshi and Takao!), the dungeon crawling RPG from the developers of Demon Gaze. The game will release this Spring 2015 in NA/EU. For those of you who played and finished the Japanese version, then you'll be happy to hear that Experience, the developers, already announced a sequel for Japan by the name of Tokyo New World Record: Operation Babel. Below are screens from the Japanese version of Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy (thank you NIS America!):

*Believe it or not, Square-Enix announced a new (I repeat, not port of a port!) Vita game by the name of SaGa 2015 (part of their hit & miss SaGa series). Not much is known yet, but I'll be sure to share more details soon whenever they're revealed. (Thanks cardinalmind!)

*Any fans of the Deception series here (the trap simulator from Koei Tecmo)? I am personally! Anyway Koei Tecmo announced a major updated version to the recently released Deception IV: Blood Ties. That game is Deception IV: Dark Princess . (Thanks baekshi!) Among the new additions are a completely new protagonist with a different story, a new quest mode which will feature over a 100 quests, new traps, and an edit mode called Deception Studio. The game has only been announced for Japan so far (March 26, 2015) but here's hoping Koei Tecmo announce an English version :D

*Got some news on Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth2: Sisters Generation folks. For Europe there's been a slight delay to February 6 (physical) and February 11 (digital). The NA version is still scheduled for Jan 27, 2015. In other HDNR2 news, Idea Factory has revealed the limited edition (coming to Europe as well as far as I know):

* Oddworld: Munch's Odyssey (thanks 18-volt!) finally hit Vitas today (NA store)! The game is an enhanced version of the Xbox launch game, known for being the very first 3D Oddworld game as far as I know.

I'm so happy with Bastion and Banner Saga. Both of them should be so much fun on the Vita.

Yes, they are both games to keep an eye out for plus they look beautiful too. Can't wait to see the Banner Saga on the Vita's screen in particular.

I didn't know about the Bastion announcement...

That is EXACTLY the kind of game I was waiting for.

Didn't expect it either since the original came out years ago :)

Fady K, you might as well reboot this as a new thread called Vita 2015 Games. The Wii U equivalent exists and is still in gaming.

Sounds like a plan Takao. Thinking of launching the 2015 thread by the end of the month with all the same games and we can take it from there. Any ideas on how we can keep it in the gaming discussion next time?

I cannot wait to play Grim Fandango on my Vita. A perfect fit imho.

Bbbbut Vita has no
AAA
games.
Frack them.

Seriously...who would have thought we'd ever get the chance to play an updated version of Grim Fandango on the go after it has been so long plus with the closure of Lucasarts? Great times...

This is a good idea , gaming has a lot of exposure . better than community, so you should do that great master fady k

You're so kind incpdo! I'll be working on the 2015 version and I'll publish it by the end of December ;D Hope to see you there as well!

Thanks Fady, that's great!

Reading up on Darkest Dungeon, I'm really looking forward to it.

You are always most welcome redcrayon ^^ Thanks for always passing by and reading my updates!

Darkest Dungeon sounds great indeed, did you read about the "stress" element?

Thanks for the latest update, Fady. A good few games there I'm really interested in, and I'm particularly interested in a few of those ports like Bastion, Super Time Force Ultra and Shovel Knight.

Has anyone here played Flyhunter Origins? I noticed that on the store a couple of days ago.

You are most welcome Triggerhappytel :) Those three you mentioned are easily among the highlights!

As for flyhunter origins, here are some decent reviews for the game from known gaming sites (when it comes to handheld gaming) - 148 apps and pocketgamer.

Amazing update post as always, Fady! :)

Bandai Namco announced 3rd Super Robot Wars Z Tengoku Hen for Vita and PS3 today.

Thank you kindly as always Infernal Monkey :D I'll be making a new thread soon on the gaming discussion by the end of the month and I'll share the link here when it is ready :) As Square-Enix says: "please be excited" lol :p Actually it'll just be the 2015 edition of this thread :)

Shame we barely get any Super Robot Wars games here. The licensing must be such a pain to go through in the west for all the series involved...

Whaaaat??? I Didn't know Day of The Tentacle was getting a remastered version! I'm so happy, one of my favorite games of my childhood, and coming to Vita !!

Thanks Fady K for so many good news in this thread. Every time I get here I love even more the Vita

HAHA so fitting that you bump into this thread a few days after it got announced :D I was wondering if you heard about the announcement when I was posting about it ;D

So happy it is coming to the Vita too!! I still can't believe it!! You are most welcome bro :) I'll post another update soon, hope you enjoy it!

Looks like Qubic Games is bringing over a few games to Vita. First up, Air Race Speed. This was previously released on the 3DS and iOS.

(iPad screens)

Also 2 Fast 4 Gnomz (another 3DS game) which is like an endless runner sort of thing.

And something called Robonauts.

Haha nope, never happening. :(

Oh nice! Thanks for sharing Infernal :) Even more games to add so soon :D Is it just me or does an average of one Vita game get announced every day? This is awesome.

Air race speed looks cool.

Has there been any recent updates on Big Fest? Was under the impression it'd be at PSX, but haven't seen any impressions or anything.

BigFest was playable recently at the Eurogamer Expo, back in October I think! I'd expect it to hit within the next few months. Most Vita games appear out of nowhere with release dates ;D

Project light, a cute jrpg from a single french developer is coming to Vita

Thanks for catching this buddy ^_^ Nice to see even more RPGs on the system.

I could not resist the $170 borderlands bundle.. so now I finally own a Vita! also bought Persona 4 and Tearaway with it.

OP's list is very helpful to new owners like me, definitely getting more than a few of those games.

Welcome aboard Tubie, congrats on your new Vita :)

Glad you found the OP helpful! It gets updated once a week nowadays so be sure to keep your eyes peeled :D Good taste too I must add, Tearaway is a treasure and Persona 4 the Golden looks absolutely glorious.

The game Krinkle Krusher stated to be released this year was announced at PlayStation Blog. It seems that it will be released February 2015.

We hadn't had any updates on krinkle krusher for some time, many thanks to you dreamsgate :D

Details are still a bit sparse now but a new game from Square is coming to the Vita.

SaGa 2015 (working title)
GAF thread

I'll be damned - a new Square Enix game - not a port - for the Vita and not the 3DS for a change. Good stuff!

It seems Munch Odyssey is coming this tuesday to Vita. Amazing game for those who haven't played it.

Finally! See? We've been waiting for this one for some time and wham, a release date a few days before release :D Thanks 18-Volt ^^

Time for a bad news: Unmechanical for Vita has been canceled... :/

Unfortunate news indeed, though on the bright side, this is *the* first game cancelation for the Vita I have seen in a VERY long time. I'll update the list, thanks VLiberty ^^

Good times.

Congrats donie! 64GB? Too good. Yeah there are so many games to play ;) If you haven't yet, give the OP a look :D

Steins;Gate localization for Vita confirmed it seems.

Ho-leeeee shit. It has been confirmed. They're pushing for a physical release too it seems! Adding this up. What a day. Vita delivers every week nowadays, seriously. So. good. Thanks baekshi!

I've been playing the excellent Zelda-like Ittle Dew on my phone, and tweeted the developers Ludosity earlier to ask if there are any plans for a Vita port. Sadly, they said there was not.

https://twitter.com/Triggerhappytel/status/544815663685337088?cn=cmVwbHk=

Thanks for checking buddy, good to know at least.

Nihilumbra for PS Vita is coming soon. Trophies spotted also

Deception IV: Another Princess for Vita announced (It's a expansion)
http://gematsu.com/2014/12/deception-iv-another-princess-announced-ps4-ps3-ps-vita

Tokyo New World Record: Operation Babel (sequel to Operation Abyss).

Thank you very much for all these baekshi! I have added them to the update and list :)

Yea for sure man, very much agreed!

Buy Soul Sacrifice Delta

I think I have the original off of plus actually, I'll defiintely give it a go :) can you upgrade to delta, or does it need a full separate purchase?

Cheers for that response, I thought my Bigfest Q might have been lost in the shuffle :) Bigfest is another one that looks pretty great, AND would appeal to my SO in the same way the theme park games do, angling to try and make the vita popular with the whole house this time around, when I had the original like a year and a half ago, they just buried their heads in their 3DS' haha. I will definitely be looking at the OP man, that list is part of what gave me the confidence to grab a new one. Particularly interested in VA-11 HALL-A ha, that looks great.

It is a separate purchase, but it is a much better game and much better looking too.

Having a little read here about Delta, it's described as a sequel, but also is kind of an enhanced extended version of the first? So would you recommend I play through the original first, or is it worth just skipping ahead and getting Delta?

For a moment I was excited they might be making a complete cartridge version, but it turns out it's just one of those deals where they pack in DLC codes with a re-release of the same cart.
