I like the look and feel of edge. I just can't get over how it doesn't save and reopen my tabs when I exit.
I did try that and didnt work for me, will attempt it again later today.
6GB downloaded and over 17K files. I guess my computer is ready!
Is that a key from Windows 8? If so it won't work to install 8.1 for reasons Microsoft never quite explained. If that's the case you need to install 8, then upgrade to 8.1. Or go here http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows-8/upgrade-product-key-only put the key in and download what it tells you.The fuck. So I went back to reinstall Windows 8.1 and get a "This key won't work with this edition of Windows, try again"

Tried to download the ISO twice and upon completion it gave the "Something happened" error. Not even sure what the fuck is happening.
So anyone got waterfox completely hosed after upgrading?

To be fair, everyone is getting the OS for free. How did you think MS was planning to make money here?
I've updated through the command prompt and never asked for the key, but now the issue is when I checked my windows activation it says "Connect to the Internet to activate Windows". If i try to manual activate it it says "Windows can't activate. Try again later." any one has this issue?
if i upgrade do i lose the stuff saved on my pc?
Try that link I sent anyway? It should let you download Windows again via that and let you install and activate. No it's a 8.1 Pro key
This is because the Nvidia website published drivers are older than the windows update drivers. The old drivers have a SLI recognition issue. The new ones don't.
Roll with the windows update drivers until things settle down.
unreal tournament 2004 is not working

I've loved Windows 10 for the few days I've been using it.
First thing I noticed was that my benchmark scores actually went up using the same driver.
But now I have an issue where I manually install new Nvidia drivers, but after the installation my video cards are no longer recognized. The only way to fix it is to let Windows manually install the drivers itself. Really, really annoying. I mean... what happens if a new driver is bad and I want to revert?
nope tried all.Compatibility mode doesn't help?
Mine activated as soon as I restarted.
Did you have a legit activated 8.1 copy? Maybe their activation servers are bogged down.
nope
nope
Yes it's a legit copy. the key was given by my school I'm currently attending when I upgraded to windows 8.1
If that was an enterprise version code, it likely won't activate.
I think I read somewhere that they don't qualify for the free upgrade.
Does everything get moved into a Windows.old? If so I'll probably do a fresh install after the upgrade.
There is a Windows.old, but I'm not sure it keeps your files there, mine are all where they were before the upgrade.
8.1 Pro upgraded to W8 Home, is that normal? Or should it have updated to Pro?
Surely it doesn't just automatically update to W10 without user input right?
So I'm not rushing to upgrade but I did reserve it. I just went into my event viewer however and I'm seeing windows trying to download and install win10 in the background. Is this normal behaviour? It says the update failed, thank god, but I'm scared one of these days I'm just going to wake up to a pc in the middle of the W10 upgrade process without actually asking me. Yeah, I successfully updated last night and it never asked for a key once. I was slightly concerned because my $windows folder wouldn't exceed 140MB for what felt like the longest time. But it definitely climbed 20-30 mins after. When it stopped moving I used "wuauclt.exe /updatenow" in cmd prompt to push the update. When I went to Windows Update, it showed it was downloading, but then it failed. I quickly found out that if you go into windows/software distribution/download and delete everything in the download folder, it will re-download everything. When you go back into Windows Update it should begin downloading again. I had to do this twice considering I received an error the first go around. Everything is solid on my end now, I just want to mess with it more.I've done it twice now and was never asked for a key.

Only issue I have so far is that 5.1/7.1 sound ain't working, only stereo for now.
I got windows 10 install in my surface and my labtop, but when I went to install on my main computer it says that Windows is going out in waves. Is there anyway around this where I can just install on my computer now?
Installing at the moment. Got to 100% now just been stuck on a black screen with nothing else. Anyone else had this? Not sure how long to give it before turning it off.
