Apparently the universe has been against me and throwing me curve balls since late September and lo and behold my package is lost in the mail. Sent it out around the 2nd and it's been "In Transit" since December 5th.

USPS is all sorts of fucked apparently right now with reduced staff, reduced funding and the Hell-a-days season.

Maybe it's Covid... I'm waiting a package from the US (sent by USPS) and a package from China (a Switch controller)... the one from USPS apparently arrived in my country, but it's been almost a month since it was posted...

The one from China is delayed as well... no Christmas gifts this year ...

They stopped updating tracking in a timely fashion months ago when the cuts happened.

It'll probably show up still though; unfortunately it might never show "delivered" so it's up to your buyer to be honest about it.

Message them and inform them of the tracking issues going on and to please let you know when it shows up.

Yeah, USPS is pretty bad during the holidays each year. Add in covid and a huge number of people opting to ship gifts and you've got a real mess. It may take 3-4 extra weeks but it'll probably get there eventually.

They are slow as shit. I thought my package was lost. It departed a location which was like 3 and half hours away back on December 4th and ended up showing up 10 days later on December 14th. Now I have another package that departed a location a couple hours away on December 15th and it still hasn't arrived to my town yet. It usually shows up and scanned as being in my town within just a few hours of departing that location.

Partner is a mail carrier. This time of year is always a non-stop hell, but it's been way worse this year. What with covid, people are ordering online at an all time high and it's way bogging down the system. This is on top of actual covid concerns, he's annex is on half staff because four people had a covid scare, two of them actually did have covid and a pile more are taking that as an excuse to get paid time off for "covid testing".

That explains a lot.. I've been eBaying some random retro parts and they're all taking abnormally long to arrive. A small priority package took two weeks to get here. 1 week and 3 days of that time was spent sitting in the Denver hub.

Covid has absolutely fucked shipping. FedEx and UPS are slammed, and USPS is dealing with plenty of their runoff as well as their own shit. Someone gets sick with Covid and those warehouses become ghost towns. Things are bad and not much can be done.

I have a Shinesty subscription that uses some weird UPS to USPS shipping method, and both times since the original order they have full on lost the package in the handoff. USPS is trash. Always has been.

I've cancelled all my packages after 12/21 my friend works at USPS shit is all the way FUCKED, pure chaos, people stealing, breaking shit etc.

We generally try to avoid using USPS in normal years, so 2020 with the holidays and COVID, it's even worse.

Recently, I had to quickly order replacement part for something at work, and when contacting the distributor, I specifically asked for either FedEx or UPS and mentioned that we were willing to pay more for shipping. Of course, I get an email back that they sent it out via USPS.

Tracking the package, it left New Jersey and quickly went to Tampa, FL. Problem is that we're in the Midwest and the package has stayed in Tampa for 4 days, so who knows when it will show up.

That's why I always go with UPS or Fedex. Not that they are perfect, but they are leagues above the USPS in terms of reliability, in my experience at least.

Put a moron in charge of the company and it goes to shit. I'm not surprised. After they stopped bother to provide tracking info for my packages earlier this summer, I stopped using them completely.

We thankfully haven't had any major issues with any of the shipping services yet, despite having a lot of packages recently. Only real issues was one of my wife's packages got left at our next door neighbor's house by the Amazon delivery service, but we recognized the door from the pick and were able to grab it (and those neighbor's are cool and would have brought it over anyway).

USPS we haven't had much come from them, mostly Amazon or UPS and a copule Fedex. UPS is usually the best for us--not surprising since they're choosier about hiring drivers, make people work in the warehouses for a while before being eligible to apply to be a driver etc. I do have an Ebay package (Steelseries Arctis 7x headset) coming USPS. Supposed to arrive today and got to my city around noon yesterday, but isn't out for delivery yet. Hopefully that doesn't get lost as it took a while to find that headset without too much markup (damn scalpers) and I'm tired of dealing with a wired headset and audio dropouts on my XSX.

Amazon has no problem getting my shit to me in a couple days with their own delivery drivers.

I’m a window clerk working 10+ hour days without a day off. My post office sucks. I’m bidding back to the plant immediately.

This season is just crazy. Mail delays. Package delays (on Retail Ground at least). People lined up around the building to mail their stuff, creating a potential COVID cesspool. And we’re not properly staffed or managed.

LOL.. just had a FedEx package shipped from 10 miles from me, end up going 3 hours away from me overnight to the neighboring state.

Their logistics systems are basically offline at this point it seems.. overloaded to the point they aren't working, which is only compounding the problem.

A $4000 laptop I was having repaired for work that I need ASAP is now probably not getting here for who knows how long.

They don't have to deliver anything on time, don't have to adhere to a budget, the people working there are almost impossible to fire if there are performance issues, and they can't go out of business. Unrelated, but UPS has been insanely efficient lately in my experience. The cheapest ground packages were getting delivered in like 3 days. I sent my sister a PS5 in the afternoon that arrived at her porch the next morning. She's only one state away, but still. It was the cheapest and slowest shipping they had. Multiple ebay orders shipped fast as hell through UPS too.

No exaggeration but my dad just got Prime and his order came with what looked like a giant booger on the item he ordered. It was food or a booger or something. It was yellow and sticky and was on the shrink wrap of the item package (not the shipping box but the box the item comes in by the manufacturer)

Great work by Amazon employees.

Damn it. Steelseries Arctis 7x headset I bought on eBay is held up in USPS nonsense now. Got to the main facility in my city around noon on Thursday, but hasn’t moved since. Had an expected delivery of yesterday that it missed and now has no date and just a message about being late, still on the way and in transit to the next facility. Grrr. Annoyed with wired headphones and dropouts on XSX and head out of state for a week in Thursday so it better get dielovered before then.
