Valve didn't accepted PC Gamer's invite to PC Gamer Show

Maybe valve doesn't need it to promote thier own products, but Valve does need it to promote all the other PC games that drive its business now. It's disappointing they wont help make a PC Gaming Show successful at E3 since basically all of PC gaming affects thier business.

They'd simply have to be clear from the very first announcement of Valves involvement that Half Life 3 wont be involved.

Valve is in a unique position of not needing to go to these things as a promotional tool. If Valve wants eyes on their next thing they just put it on the front of Steam and everyone who would need/want to see it does. Making huge demos for a press conference does nothing for them.

Do Valve really think they can dodge Half-life 3 questions by not appearing at a game show? Like me and millions of other fans that have been abandonded by a cliffhanger ending, are going to forget about Valves betrayal to Half-Life?!

Too me, Valve are anti-gamers. They create a fantastic game series, release sequels, end with A BIG CLIFFHANGER and for some time act like they are making a third game but suddenly stop talking about it and it has still been 8 years of silence!!

I dont care about Steam, Steam Machine, Steam Console or whatever. Valve promised sequels and ended the last game with a cliffhanger. They owe us a sequel to the cliffhanger they created!

If Half Life 3 came out tomorrow would you buy it?

At first I was annoyed by these valve threads because they always end up the same, but lately I've come to appreciate them. Between the sometimes seemingly genuine butt-hurt and the Valve doesn't make games arguments they're actually fairly amusing. I often try to guess who's trolling who's really upset and it's often really hard to tell. I mean on the one hand "Valve are anti-gamers" is over the top and I can't imagine anyone telling me this with a straight face but on the other hand this is neogaf and valve thread so it may actually really be someone's honest opinion.

Of course! In an instance!

Then it's not too big of a betrayal is it? Valve will ship HL3 when they feel that they can make something that deserves that title. As long as they haven't lost your purchase, they have time to get it right.

I would bet that it shows up as a VR showcase in the next few years.

I'd want a reason why they took so long on something that was supposed to be episodic.

Especially with that cliffhanger.

Although the answer is simple: Dota2 ruined valve.

Different strokes, Dota 2 made Valve my favorite game company.
