also, you play as two fixed characters? so not like the first one where you can make a bunch of choices for your character before starting? that's disappointing.

The game was in development for almost a decade. Previously it was developed by a completely different studio (Hardsuit Labs), but Paradox decided to cancel it, took that project from them and gave it to The Chinese Room who started over from scratch
You play as one character who has fixed name and design but you can change their gender, apparently modify some of their look and pick a clan (4 on base game, they also are going to do paid day 1 dlc bullshit with 2 more clans). That second playable character is more of a Johnny Silverhand type of thing

Yup, and to make it even more bizarre the original version of Bloodlines 2 had 5 clans and when Chinese Room took over they reduced it to 4 clans. That axed clan (Toreador) is now locked behind that 20+ dollars day one dlc lmaoThey are locking 2 vampire clans behind day 1 DLC?

You're probably right. I mean, one of the Paradox's execs did an interview last year where he candidly said they consider Bloodlines 2 as a dead end regardless of its performance and if the hypothetical third would happen they wouldn't bankroll it themselves. So they most likely don't give a fuck and will try to squeeze out of it as much as they can regardless of the optics

Yeah it was just an heads up, i already decided to day one this bitch aswell.
Combat looks a bit clunky but i like how punchy it look, it show well enough how powerfull a vampire should be, and some of the magic powers remind me of the hacking abilities of cyberpunk (like when he force a dude to snap his neck).
That's enough to tickle my balls

If you never played bloodlines, it was widely loved for its story. This won't be. It was made by a completely different studio and none of the original talents were involved. Not hard to predict.
The fact that they are widely promoting the gameplay instead of the story is telling. they don't feel confident about their writing (because millenials and genZ are terrible writers) so they have to promote 'combat.'

I will try it in a year for 75% off… if it's any good. Day 1 access lock to two clans is BS.
