Is it possible? I mean think about the nature of relationships now then lets say that you 'meet' someone online and they are in a committed relationship/married whatever. I and the two of you bond or click or whatever. Let's say that you all chat and talk about what you would like to do but, the two of you never meet in person or never act on those words is it cheating. I mean nothing physical has transpired but, mentally a host of things have. What do you think?

I'll probably be in the minority on this one, but if honestly two folks are talking online about how much they care about each other and how much they wish they could be together, and what they would do if they were together... and you were genuine about what you were saying? Yeah that's a form of cheating IMO. Not nearly as bad as say physically getting it on.... but still ranks up pretty bad.

Definitely. i think that cheating in the emotional sense or mild physical sense is as great, if not greater than in the sexual sense.

In fact, in this situation I would have to ask the cheater in question, "What are you still doing in your current relationship?"

It is probably a matter of semantics human5892 I think when people say Virtual or Online there is a feeling that it isn't real.

So the next question is this then since you all feel that this affair is cheating then how does someone come clean?

I mean if your mate came to you and said listen honey I've been having an affair. I've been chatting on AIM with ElephantTrunk0069 for 3 months and we have been trading stories. It's over between us now.

I mean does it have the same impact as 'real' cheating.

The thought that my mate had to seek satisfaction be it virtual or physical with someone else is a blow.
