Holy awesome crap! Got all black costume for Aoikido and have the white headband and silver necklace and she looks badical! Plus im finally things down with counters, ground work at regular intervals.

SHE ROX! more than shun di tho I dunno. She cant get drunk and earn new moves :(

I just Evolution this a few days ago and I am addicted. I am far far away from mastering the game however. The Quest Mode is great; I like trying on every little item after I get it. Is Pai Chan a good character to start with, because that's who I am using for Quest Mode right now. As far as 3D fighter goes, I love this and Tekken (3), and SC2 is okay since it has Ivy. :p
 
I think my biggest problem character would be Goh right now. His ground game is fucking scary. I can work the ground pretty good but jesus. While I counter like a champ I throw escape like a n00b for some reason, so jeffry and goh work me over pretty good.

Amen, sir. For my money, VF4:Evo is far and away the best fighting game ever made. Too bad a home version of Final Tuned never materialized, though.

Holy shit Lau and I were going at it tonight. First he fucked me over for a gold prize, then fueled by pure rage I proceeded to counter his ass into the fucking ground and remove his chance of gaining a promotion. FUCK HIM!

He's a real asshole. I mean I rag on Jacky n such but these days he seems a lot more fair when compared to characters that win against me. They must be cheating ;)

I also noticed AI Aoi depends WAY more on her striking moves and less on her countering and working people onto the ground to break a few extra bones. Its always fun smacking some stupid Aoi to the ground.

It helped I fought Drinky Crow tonight tho, got the rust out. Counter timing rox now. Oh and I love that throw she does when someone is crouching. I dont remember japanese names but damn thats fun to use repeatedly over lowblow crouch happy Shun Di.
 
Nothing beats Akira and his supa mullet, or Goh an all his random shit. Goh is probably my favourite character, he's heaps of fun to play as.
 
Hell yes it rocks. I just finished learning the basics with Jeff the other day. So now I can use Kage, Goh, Wolf, Jeff, and Akira. Keep preaching the good word MAF.

FT better come out on ps2 or xbox or else !!!!!!!!!
 
Goh is awesome. I have been learning him but I cant beat my friends Akira.


anyone know the differences between Final Tuned and Evo?
 
Wow, where did the VF4:EVO hate come from? Djeez, everytime someone makes a topic about a game he or she likes someone just has to come in and bash it somehow. Who the f*** (why am I censoring with a topictitle like that??? :p) cares that MAF supposedly supports a 'bad' game?

Anyway, I haven't played it in a long time, but I think I was pretty good with that baldheaded monk... Lei Fei was his name if my memory serves me right. Then again, I had trouble finding a good way to defeat some of the harder opponents, and my overall play just really really sucked....

Great game nonetheless, but I think I could use a lot more practice hehe...

People here just mindlessly bash Sega for whatever reason one day, then a week later hail them as gaming gods. You must learn to be vigilant and ignore them

Oh well, so we get Nintendo, Capcom, Sega and <insert any name here> bashing all depending on the overall moods around here..... I can live with that, but sometimes it just gets really really annoying...
 
I haven't played videogames for months, but the notion of the best 3d fighter ever is tempting. I remember it being sooo good.
 
I earned Aoi's Japanese Ponytail, trying to pick between that and the headband is hard, both make her look badass. Headband sez im practiced while ponytail says youre so weak I didnt even need to dress down.
 
I just started playing Quest mode again. I just reached Warrior rank and made it to Sega World North. How many arcades are left?
 
VF gets no love in my area. At least no where near as much as Tekken. Everywhere I go everyone's all about Tekken. Some don't know what VF is and most that do don't like it. It makes me sick! It makes me wanna go all Lau on 'em!

It's hard to learn the game without competition and it's hard to find comp without either online play or a local arcade scene. Sega needs to get the cabinets out to arcades in the us. I don't think I've seen a VF machine since VF2 like 10 years ago. You see TTT, T4 and T5 everywhere. I never really feel like my game is improving because I have no one to play against.

its not a game for casuals. i cannot get any of my friends to play this with me. the first night i had it yeah, after severl hours of training and a few weeks of quest mode, they were pretty uninterested in playing for more than 5 minutes with me, and i SUCK.

i finally bought it a few months back after buying my first PS2. i didnt want to bother begining my training or quest mode with Shun Di (my fave) untill i got a decent arcade stick, so i chose Pai.

i started to get pretty decent with her (for a n00b), but then i bought and borught home a brand new shiny pelican Arcade stick, so fucking excited to play VF the way god intended (albeit with a shitty stick), untill i found out first hand that this POS stick will not work with the slim PS2...

id still be unlocking goodies and clearing arcades now if it werent for that. it kind of depressed me on the whole thing.

i need to import a Hori allready.

VF=Love. :)
 
Well, I was forced to go back to Trocadero (due to an aborted session) to play Evo even though I promised myself I wouldn't. Can't wait for FT next week! (I hope.)

I heard something about there being no home version on the way (ever) so I assumed this meant AM2 are too busy with VF5.

Dood. For a cheaper alternative try and find some hori buttons and a japanese style stick and mod your pelican. And switch out the PCB for a psx pcb and it'll work on the slim ps2. Can you solder/findsomeone willing to? I converted a pelican this way and sold it for 90 :)

And still end up looking unimpressive from an outsiders prespective. Really the only people who can appreciate a cool VF4 fight is VF4 fans. There's nothing wrong with that. But it's true.
 
I dunno about that. People have seen drinky and I fight and have responded favorably. Since Most of the characters are highly stylized its easy to impressive you actually use a large variety of the moves like we do.

if youre fighting the AI you have less chance to impress, but drinky and I are constantly throwing new stuff at each other just to try and gain some sort of edge in a fight. The result is a fight that looks like an actual fight.

thanks. i would but i returned the stick the moment i found it didnt work with the PStwo. one of the reasons i bought it in the first place was multiple system compatability.

maybe ill get the SF aniversary one and swap out the controlls a la ASM's guide.
