VF5 info & scans from Famitsu

Looks good. Hopefully when the PS3 port comes around they can beef up the visuals even more so. After my addicition to Evo, this is a must buy when it finally hits next gen consoles.

It's strange, the models in some cases look nearly identical to their VF4 counterparts, yet in some screens it looks downright photorealistic. The lighting is fantastic.

Well, whichever the case, at least we know it has unmatched gameplay to go along with it. Hoping for a PS3 port.

Okay, this does look quite a lot better than the screens previous shown (Sarah).
That zoomed-in shot of El Blaze looks good, u can see his veins, nice detail!

HOLY FUCKING MOTHER OF ALL THAT IS HOLY

Self-shadowing makes this look so goddamn great. DOA4 looks like a previous gen effort now. Take a note Itacrappy!

Name that mexican wrestler "El Muerte" or "El Vato" and you've got a sale!....oh who am I kidding I'd buy this anyway after VF4.

Absolutely gorgeous!!!

although DoA failed to impress me with every new batch of screens, i was never looking to Team Ninja for a next-gen fighting game. atleast not one in the DoA franchise.

AM2 is definitely delivering. i can't wait to see how namco's tekken models match up to this.

Heh, an OS-Tan avatar.

Anyway, I can't seem to get these to load... the image is broken on the normal pages, if I try to go to the image URLs directly, I'm redirected to an oo.jpg picture of a biscuit or something. Any mirrors?

Edit: Many thanks, Faceless Master.

WTF? Rey Mysterio's in there?

Short stuff highflying wrestler?

Looks awesome and it'll play even better. Instant purchase for the inevitable console version

It's just annoying that Sega aren't making any effort to putting this on Xbox Live :( This would completely obliterate DOA4 online but it's not going to happen. I can just see it now...people buying DOA4 because it's online and VF4 isn't :(

It's just arcade, Sega hasn't announced any console version.

And it's going to stay that way for a while. Sega isn't stupid and most of their VF money comes from the Japanese arcades, so they'll probably wait a full year from the eventual arcade release until they do a home port.

I seriously would be surprised if we see VF5 at home before Fall 2007.

Duh - we've been saying this for months. :P

Unfortunately the character modeling still looks weak.

What I mean by that are Pai and Wolf's arms for example. Pai has always had weak shoulders. It's like AM2 doesn't take into consideration muscle masses when modeling their characters. So Pai's arms still look freaky in the screens. Similar for Wolf, his arms are just big. Where's the delineation of bicep and tricep?

It's not a huge problem. Just something that has always nagged me about AM2 and VF. Dream Factory was pretty good at taking body shapes into consideration, back when they still made good games.

Hot.

"I hope they add some kind of cloth physics... or maybe a lil' bit of motion blur?"

They'll more than likely *never* add motion blur. The hardcore framecounting set would go pissy.

Hell, VF2 had motion blur...only for the replays of the end of your fights during the credits mind you, but anyway.

Heh, I doubt it takes that long...I'm sure Sega will just take the same tact they did with VF4, releasing upgraded versions of VF5 for the arcade to keep it fresh around the time of the console releases. I reckon we'll see PS3/360 versions in about a year.

yeah, Tobal 2 had quite the body definition...

Didn't Itagaki say DOA was the best fighting game ever? :lol The man is totally clueless...he wouldn't know a good game if his life depended on it. I'm sure he thinks DOA4 is going to be better than VF5...I'm almost excited to read the damage control over this :D
