Vice Documentary - Bam Margera

Epicly Later'd. I watched this episode earlier and thought it was pretty good. Nice to see Bam try and get his life under control. There's a bunch of other great episodes of EL'd on YouTube

Search youtube proxy on google and try one of the websites setting a US server. I'm watching it through one of them.

Works fine for me.

Bam looks like he's been through hell and he's got this hollow look in his eyes I find somewhat alarming. And from what Phil and what Novak say that he's not at the level of recovery where I'm sure it's wise to be filming it. Novak kind of describes it better than I can; he's in a super fragile part of the recovery process where it's kind of touch-and-go.

Damn

Damn he looks terrible. Him and Dunn gave me so much entertainment, it feels bad to see what happened to them

I can watch it here (Vice.com) using my my VPN set to US, but Youtube just doesn't work for me.

Thanks for the link though OP. Will watch later.

Good video. Bam's story arc has been wild.

Speaking of wild, seeing Pontius in there makes me wish that they'd bring back Wild Boyz.

Novak talks the most sense out of everyone in this doc, which is crazy considering where that guy was in his life at one point.

Phil seems to understand what Bam needs to do but has his doubts he will. April is in complete denial.

Does he have addiction issues? I can't watch the vid.

I'll never forget his break down on TV after Ryan Dunns passing.

That's the general idea of the video - he's been a serious alcoholic for years now. He doesn't look well at all, although he's been sober for a few months, it seems.

Isn't Steve-O also in bad shape? Damn, this is a real shame. Ryan Dunn was my favourite jackass back in the day and his death really shocked me.

He's in bad shape yeah, but he's actually doing pretty well all things considering. He was on Hot Ones a while back, and he seemed decently put together.

Really? Thought he was actually doing pretty good. Heard he was way into vegan and fighting against animal cruelty.

Surprised by how much I liked this documentary. I used to like Viva La Bam a lot as a kid, and wish him the best. His family seem like great people, and he seems like a decent guy who is in a bad place.

I think he got clean a few years back but he was a big cokehead.

Dammit, I really wanted to watch this. Shame its region locked.

A few years ago I went searching for new info on bam, it seemed like he had vanished off the face of the earth and I always enjoyed watching his show. He managed to be both extremely likable and completely reprehensible at the same time. I couldn't find any real updates on his life back then so it's nice to see this and see that he is trying to get his shit back together.

I got through to the end and I gotta say I'm a little worried that he was saying stuff like "I was only drinking because I had nothing to do." It's one of those things my friend would always say before he would relapse.

There's also the fact that pretty much everything about the really dark period after Dunn passed away is kind of spoken about in very vague terms (although I've seen the footage of him bleeding from deep cuts, constantly drunk and totally out of his mind). I dunno, it just feels a little like the gravity of his condition and the things he's done is being downplayed, which is one of those things I've seen in multiple alcoholics who ended up relapsing.

Was my thought when he said that as well.

It feels like forever since I last thought about Bam. It's like viewing a newfound relic from a bygone era at this point, but I'm glad he's still kicking around and getting better. I hope things continue to work out for him and I hope it lasts.

Watched the documentary, glad to see that article I read a few months back about him in Barcelona shed more light into his recovery. His recovery is taking longer than it probably would have had someone else died that wasn't Dunn. The accident was in 2011, yet they still talk about it like happened a few months ago. It's pretty sad that he came to the realization that hard way, that he was way more alone than he thought when he would stop drinking and realize he doesn't know anyone around him.

I grew up watching Jackass and seeing tony hawk hang out with him and the videogames and staying up late to see what Chris and Steve-o were doing on MTV2, so watching this seems to almost hit close to home. All the emo and rock kids had heartagrams in their lockers back in middle school, CKY and Vans were everywhere, then it seemingly just disappeared without anyone really noticing. Hope he fully gets better.

Shit, the story of him editing the Dunn doc was sad.

Also, I can't wait for the Andy Roy episode I imagine that one will be as gnarly if not more so than this episode.

It's interesting how focused people are on his looks and how that's the most tragic part. Sure he could lose a few kilos to be heathier but he actually looks good for a guy his age and weight.

Watched this with my wife the other night. It's funny how I always remembered him as the skater who did dumb stunts, and she remembered him as the dumb stunts guy who happened to be a skater.

It ended on a bittersweet note where he has a long ways to go. So I hope him and his family the best.

Never was a big fan of Bam after watching a few episodes of his show. Just seemed like a prick.

That being said, I'm still looking forward to watching this. I remember reading about what happened when he got attacked with a baseball bat, and fuck that sounded awful. Felt bad for the guy.

I think he got clean a few years back but he was a big cokehead.

Coke was nothing compared to all the nitrous oxide he was doing. I can't imagine how much that fucked up his brain.

But yeah, as others have said, he seems good now. Hope he continues to stay clean.
