Ok my dad is planning on doing some video caputuring from a VCR so we can transfer all our old family videos to the computer, edit them, add some music and then finally burn them to DVD. My dad isn't too good with computers so I've gotten him to use Windows Movie Maker 2. It's certainly not the best video editing program but it's extremely easy to use. (If anyone else has any suggestions for an easy video editing program let me know).
Now we've attempted to capture some video and have done so successfully. However, very often the sound is out of sync with the video. So I googled as to why this would occur and have done all the suggestions such as defragmenting, closing all other running programs, using NTSC file format etc. But I still have the same problem. The only other suggestion was to use a second HD purely for video capture. Since my dad only has one 80 GB HD I thought I'd buy another 80 GB HD just for video capturing. We need the extra space and I'm hoping it fixes up the syncronisation issues. Basically killing two birds with one stone.
I went to install the HD and I'm wondering how I should set this up. Should I put both Hard disks on the same IDE cable with Master/Slave configuration and the second IDE cable just for the DVD burner? Or should I have the second HD share the same IDE cable as the DVD Burner and which should be the Master, the HD or the DVD Drive?
Any help would be appreciated.
