Never update if you can avoid it. Older firmwares are better for homebrew and hacking than newer ones.
The bubbles are not out yet, so no tutorial. They offer the same basic functionality as Mr. Gas's and Major Tom's, but using an alternate method (that's supposedly not going to get patched).
I'm trying to set up a bubble, but I don't know what I'm doing wrong. This is getting way over my head...
Edit:
OK, I have no fucking clue what's going on. These are the steps that I'm taking. Someone please help me understand where it all goes wrong, because I'm at my witt's end.
0. Nothing is running, nothing is downloading, there're no notifications.
1. I dump my app.db.
2. I downloaded several bases I own: World of Pool, Ape Quest (Demo), FFT: War of the Lions, MGSPW, etc. None has worked. I'm using Ape Quest right now.
3. I prepared my PSP ISO. In this case, I'm using Final Fantasy I.
4. I use the PKG Decrypter to get the Ape Quest EBOOT.PBP.
5. I rename it to NP.PBP and put it in the SIGNNP folder.
6. I run SIGNNP and get fake-signed EBOOT.PBP from the FIXGAME folder.
7. I create a folder on my PSP SAVEDATA named BU_FFI/game/, where I put the EBOOT.PBP. (As far as I know, the folder can be named whatever I want.)
8. I move the save data folder with QCMA.
9. I got to
https://jsfiddle.net/ja8btfs0/1/embedded/result/ and input the following configuration:
Basegame Disc ID: NPEG00005
Bubble name: Final Fantasy
Fake TitleId: BUBBL0001
EBOOT.PBP path: ux0

spemu/psp/savedata/BU_FFI/game
Position at last screen: 9
10. I hit "Do it!", copy the text I get, go to the DB Browser for SQLite, paste the text, apply it and save the changes.
11. I rename the newly-modified app.db to #0, attach it to an e-mail with the subject line ur0:shell/db/app.db and send it to myself.
12. I open the e-mail on my Vita, touch the image file and the app crashes. I force-close it, restart the Vita and...
13. ... I post here because absolutely nothing happens. No bubble, no anything.
What could be the reason nothing works? The base games I'm using are installed on my Vita. Do I have to put them in a specific position in the screen? I dunno...
