Didn't check as it says PSP only, no way for me to buy it and get it on my Vita right?
New exploitable game is FIFA 11. Available on US and JP PSN stores, $29.99 USD.
A bit steep, but if you really want the exploit this will be the last opportunity for eCFW until another exploitable game is publicly announced (keep in mind that took almost a full year last time).

Edit: Apparently it is also FIFA 12, also $29.99 USD. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/14112558/Stuff13/VitaExploitChart.png
Will Fifa 12 UK work?
Wait, so by using FIFA 11, I can now get my Vita to run custom firmware and PS1 games/PSP games that I can't get on the PS Store? Sorry for being dumb, I just got a Vita and I never owned a PSP.
I'm really surprised that they haven't released new fw since the TN hack happened. They always manage to plug that up immediately but its been a couple months.
And is it true that FF Type 0 won't be able to run through Vita TN because of a size issue?
Who even knows if they are releasing the Type-0 english patch at this point. The translation team seems even slower than SE, only its worse because they give a window and then proceed to not have a release in sight 3x the amount of time they gave in said release window. Oh well, I have other things to play until it finally releases and I understand that doing a project like this is certainly not easy.

Fantastic. Thanks to you, someone from Sony's seen this thread, thought "oh shit, that's right" and are patching it now.I'm really surprised that they haven't released new fw since the TN hack happened. They always manage to plug that up immediately but its been a couple months.

There's a kernel exploit for Persona 2: Innocent Sin. Grab it before it's pulled.

Hopefully someone here can help.
My idiot friend I lent my PS Vita to just came over with "amazing news". He has put this mod on my Vita. The idiot forgot I already had a CFW PSP-3000 so I wanted to ask this.
How do I completely remove this mod? I deleted the installed games and savedata through the PSP screen, so I think all thats left is to get rid of the mod?
I've looked around but nowhere shows how to remove it, only how to install it.
You should just delete the save data. There's no physical changes to the Vita, its all software based.
Hell, just updating to the newest firmware will kill it.
Yup. The entirety of the exploit is done within the PSP environment on the Vita, in fact it's all within the entirety of that save file (which is why you see game data that can be in the GBs, depending on what's "installed"). So deleting that save is all you need to do to get rid of it.You sure? He showed me how to get into the recovery menu and there are install and uninstall options. Are these installs and changes all within the modded save data?
PS Thank you for the quick and helpful response.

But there honestly isn't any harm in having it on there, if you think it's something you might consider using in the future (unless it's taking up a shitload of space). Sony can't detect it and no-one's been banned from PSP exploits on their Vita. It's a completely different scenario to how CFW worked on the PSP (because that was the entire device which was "open").
Either way, easy come, easy go![]()

Sleep well, sweet prince.
Are we sure of this? I'm pretty sure the emulators and such that are installed are not accessible in any form outside of the eCFW. To completely wipe clean it is probably necessary to delete everything from the ISO/GAME directories as well as the plugins installed, after which the 6.60 files probably have to be removed through the recovery menu. I could be wrong about the 6.60 files, but anything installed to the Vita's ms0:/ certainly isn't stored in the save file.
Persona 2 has already been removed from PSN Store![]()
Do they usually put games like that back up eventually? I was planning on getting it eventually but not for cfw purposes.
They do, they just patch the exploit. That's why it's a cat and mouse game. Game gets hacked, Sony patches it, rinse and repeat.
Backup anything you want to save off of the memory stick and then format it via Settings on the Vita, the exploit will go to digital file heaven, then restore your backup saves.
The exploit doesn't touch the system files of the Vita, it operates strictly in software off of the memory card.
The Vita's ms0:/ path isn't the same as what the PSP sandbox sees as ms0:/ though, is it? Because that'd mean you could just copy homebrew/ISOs etc. to that path and when a new exploit comes out, not have to update everything within the one save transfer from OpenCMA (or later via FTP).Are we sure of this? From here: http://wololo.net/talk/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=15667The installation works similarly to VHBL. When you install a homebrew it's unzipped and transferred to PSP/GAME/(it actually visible from CMA as well as corrupted PSP game). I think that the TN's menu (the one equiped with CFE) automatically removes the installation zip once it has finished with the install so no you won't
Just open "ftp://{ip}" on Windows Explorer ({ip} being the address it's shown on Vita when you enable FTP access) and it should opened it as a folder, so you can drag stuff in and out like regular files. That's how I did.Anyone using TN-V8, can you explain the easiest way to FTP new files in?
I couldn't find the info I needed to successfully connect it with my FTP client.
Thanks, I'll try that.Just open "ftp://{ip}" on Windows Explorer ({ip} being the address it's shown on Vita when you enable FTP access) and it should opened it as a folder, so you can drag stuff in and out like regular files. That's how I did.

Edit: Found something that seems to clarify fairly well:
From here: http://wololo.net/talk/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=15667
So I believe PSP ISOs/CSOs are stored within the save file, but any homebrew app data is installed to /PSP/GAME and seen in the content manager as corrupt data. I think that means just deleting the save/exploit and any data the CMA considers "corrupt" should clear it up. I think.
The 3.10 firmware blocks all the current kernel and usermode exploits and it blocks a few unreleased usermode exploits.
Is 3.10 required to connect to PSN?
So, when a new firmware is available and your vita has tn-v; unless you already downloaded and copied the game onto your PC using openCMA, there is no way to get games on the vita, correct? openCMA (or CMA, for that matter) can't download games from the PC?
Makes homebrew a bit more of a pain on the vita... I don't really want to give it up, but i really want to play Fez.... :/
I also have ps3/ps4, but i assume those won't talk to an unupdated vita or if they are not on wifi.
Exactly the same here. It'll be glorious on Dat OLED!I need this exploit to play Type-0 when the patch comes out, so I don't think that I'm going to update for a while.
Eh, I've been using a kernel exploit since January 2013 and have no plans to change that. I'll update whenever a kernel exploit is available again, unless something absolutely massive comes out or is announced. At the moment, no upcoming titles make me want to lose the exploit. I need this exploit to play Type-0 when the patch comes out, so I don't think that I'm going to update for a while.
