Why not on PPSSPP instead? It'll look 10x better.Exactly the same here. It'll be glorious on Dat OLED!
After trying MH3U on Vita and emulator, I didn't care about losing TN one bit.

Are there any benefits besides running ps1/psp games that aren't on the Sony store?
I don't have a good enough PC! And I have an iPhone 5S. What's it run like on Android? Say the Nvidia Shield? Why not on PPSSPP instead? It'll look 10x better.

Holy shit yes yes!!!! My only worry now is what are the controls like? And battery life?I have no idea about the Shield sadly but is your iPhone 5S still on iOS 7.0.6 or lower? If so go Jailbreak it and install PPSSPP from Cydia![]()
You can get Fez. You need to use something called Charles Proxy to trick your Vita into thinking it's on the latest version. This'll let you access the store and download the game.

The firmware bit is all you have to change! Otherwise the guide is the same. I'll help you get it running over PM.Awesome! Do you know where I can find instructions? I find some stuff on wololo but it seems outdated? At least it's for a very old version of the firmware.
I'm on 3.01 currently, is there any hope for me? Can someone direct me to some basic instructions to get started? Thanks in advance.

I've only had the phone for a month so haven't jailbroken it yet. Never tried PPSSPP on my 4S despite being jailbroken. I assume it wouldn't have worked very well though.
Crap that's a good point. I'm pretty sure it was over iTunes. But my memory is rather hazy, is it possible I didn't update it at all? Could it have shipped with 7.0.6?That's great!Well I think it would have run somewhat decent on the 4S but I'm not sure either :/ The battery life will have a bigger impact but it won't drain the phone instantly, I never really did any tests outside my home so I can't tell very well
The controls will be fumbly for action games but a future update should allow you to use a DS3 or DS4 as a gamepad! And as for jailbreaking, did you update to your current firmware OTA or via iTunes?
Does this mean MAME and SNES are finally emulated at 100%?

Numblast is the ‘Field Runners’ of 3.01, it is fast, cheap $2.99, and takes up 36mb of space. I’d recommend getting it for anyone on 3.01 it is cheap, and you just start the game and it loads directly into TN-V.

If anyone has a working psp2-updatelist.xml for charles' proxy and PSN, i'll gladly take it
I am trying to configure this at home, but can't get it to work. It's all the more infuriating that the 'response' field of charles proxy only lists 03.010.000, so in principle it seems to be working, but the vita still wants to update.
Disable Wifi and enable the Airplane mode at your PS Vita, then restart it.
At first you need to login to your PSN-Account at the Online Store.
Then go to your downloadlist and select the game you want to download to your Vita.
Select “add game to download queue”, so it should automatically download to your device, once it connects to the internet.
Disable the Airplane mode and enable Wifi. Now restart the PS Vita again.
Thats it. The PS Vita now should automatically start downloading the selected game, without needing the most recent firmware or using the PSN-Store App.
Try this. Worked for me and I am downloading Fez right now:

When I try to extract Open CMA to my CMA folder, it says Access is denied. Did Sony patch a workaround to keep Open CMA out?
You need to do the copy as Administrator.
Installed open CMA and when i try to connect my VITA to PC it still says I need to update firmware. Is that right? Also I did use ADMIN rights also when installing open CMA so it seems to have installed correctly.
Holy shit!!! The exploited game I have has been exploited again! Still only on 3.01 though.Looks like I was wrong, buddy.
6 games available for exploit:

Man just imagine they can unlock it to the Vitas full specs. N64 would run like a dream! So I just found out on TN-7 on newer vita firmwares you're not able to access the 64mb ram of PSP 2000 and 3000 and only previous firmware releases can. Damn that sucks ass. Was looking forward to playing cps2psp and mvspsp slim versions so I could enjoy Marvel vs Capcom,Garou, and Breakers Revenge at full locked 60fps on that glorious vita oled screen. Some psp slim exclusive openbor mods also would have been nice to play on the oled.
Looks like I'm skipping this until they find a way to let you use the full 64mb. Still got my PSP3000 and go tho I guess.
The 64mb is very unlikely to ever return, there is no reason for Sony to re-enable it because all official games and software only require 32mb.So I just found out on TN-7 on newer vita firmwares you're not able to access the 64mb ram of PSP 2000 and 3000 and only previous firmware releases can. It will run VHBL but not TN-V, so if you wanted ISO loading then you're out of luck. The people who have that Japanese game have hit the jackpot. It can NEVER be patched apparantly. Good to know this is a possibility, hopefully we'll see a future game with the same ability.
Disable the internet on both your Vita and PC, reboot the Vita, and try again. Worked for me.

In regards to download games from PSN on older firmware:
Try this. Worked for me and I am downloading Fez right now:
WOW that is great.
Announce what games work on 3.01 literally seconds after everyone updated their Vita to 3.10
Er-Those titles were known for a bit during 3.01? Sorry you updated instead of waiting on a lower firmware in case something like this happened?
No, because this hack is limited to the PSP's hardware specs.
Charles is working fine for me to bypass 3.12.The 64mb is very unlikely to ever return, there is no reason for Sony to re-enable it because all official games and software only require 32mb.
Fortunately, most homebrew will work on both, the only one that absolutely requires the full 64mb that specifically comes to mind is Aquaria.
But of course, as you know the trade off is lower framerate on some of the more demanding emulators.
It will run VHBL but not TN-V, so if you wanted ISO loading then you're out of luck.
On another note, has anyone been able to get Charles or Fiddler2 to work bypass the 3.12 update? I tried on 3.10 and was having no success but thought that was likely an error on my part.
but would this be piracy if I already own a digital copy?
Got CMA working,
Sometimes it asks to update so you just gotta restart your Vita and make sure Wifi is off. What was the issue preventing CMA from working in the first place?
Sony's system uses its own memory cards to stop hacking.
Nintendo's system uses SD Cards and they still ain't hacked when they released a year earlier.
I just find that funny lol.
I don't hack my systems but to whoever does, hope yall enjoy doing...whatever yall do when you hack your systems. The stuff that I've seen being done with hacked systems is pretty cool, I should get around to doing it with a extra system or something...
copied it from wololo.net, hope it helps you. If not head over to wololo and ask around there.
The reason you can't play Motorstorm Arctic Edge in the US on a Vita is most likely a contractual one. It has nothing to do with the fact that the game has a security vulnerability:SCEA for some reason refuses to place the game on PSN for Vita owners, probably because it was one of the first exploited games.
So can anyone detail whats the status on Vita homebrew?
- Does it play PSP/PSOne games?
- Emulators?
PSP, yes.
PS1 games work, just without sound
Emulators work at the same level they would on a PSP 1,000 (Sony removed the memory upgrade that the PSP slim had, so its only 32MB).
So its still a bit limited, right? PSP homebrew makes it the semi-perfect portable, but Im a bit divided on which one should I buy: psp or vita.
Emulators are one of the main things Im looking for!
Wait for the day for Vita to get properly hacked.
PS3 was only ever properly hacked once and Sony has learned a lot since then.
