Vita "hacked," (PSP) homebrew on the way (not piracy)

All I want to happen is to be able to play the Crash Bandicoot and Spyro games on my Vita. I wasn't able to download and install it when the floodgates were opened last year.

I hear you, crash was the first game I thought of putting on if this was possible.

so the writer.eml dropbox link isn't working. Not ready for prime time?

Link to the file is gone, Sony Ninjas are already on to it.

After yesterday's leak of Qwikrazor's exploit files, I can't imagine Sony is sitting on its ass for this exploit. What a pity some idiot decided to ruin the party for everyone...

Edit: The file's up again! Grab it quickly!

Looks like mr. gas released the file needed to write stuff to the vita.

Not a member there, can't see the image he posted. I'm sure extensive tutorials will be published soon...

So we should now be able to play all titles on PSTV from these two files? Gotta check it out.

Saved for future intents.

Managed to get the files this time. Hopefully I'll get to try this when I have access to my pstv later today. This seems legit

Primarily what I want also. Really hate that I missed out on downloading them to my vita.

So I did the email thing, the error and didn't click on it. Closed the email app and re-opened it. Should the email app be reset or something because I see from the tutorial that I need to set it up again?

I don't understand. It doesn't seem to work for me.

What is this error message that's supposed to come up? How am I supposed to know this is working.

Have you redownloaded the file? Think the Writer.eml first release wasn't working, but the link has been updated now.

Apparently should reset itself, but best to redownload if it's not working since it was updated.

I don't get what's going wrong here. I have both files, but the writer.eml step is not triggering. I'm pretty sure I have the latest version of the file, too.

Hopefully this will shove that VitaTV whitelist up its own ASS forever.

To be safe though I don't think i'll be putting a tweaked VitaTV back online anytime soon, a PSN ban is likely if this leads to all that pirating and "free trophies" they promised.

From what they said it doesn't allow for pirating at all.

Well I can't get it working for some reason. I get an error that the file is not compatible with my system, then quit the app without tapping Ok and nothing happens. I just get back in the menu of my mail account.

Are you sending yourself the eml file? I think you are supposed to open it with outlook/thunderbird and the send whatever it's in there (I think a fake png attachment) to yourself, that's the file you'll have to open and that give you the error. Can't try it myself at the moment though so I'm just guessing...

Yeah I was sending it as an attachment to an empty email (which does NOT work). I'll try out the solution to this.

Now I have to install an actual email client instead of using gmail though, lol.

Got it working on my PSTV while testing the whitelist bypass. Ys: Memories of Celceta works!

For those of you having trouble with the writer.eml part, you're not supposed to attach the writer.eml as an attachment.

You need to use an email client like Thunderbird or Outlook, import the writer.eml as an email message to your email's inbox. This is an existing email from mr. gas that has the exploit already attached. You just follow the rest of the instructions to write to your Vita.

Yep, that's it!

Just tested a non-compatible game. Works like a charm!

Yeah, .eml is an email file, so you forward the email to yourself.

My dreams are finally coming true.

Because PPSSPP is way better than the stock PSP emulator in the Vita, since you can upscale the games, apply AA, and texture filter them so they don't look like garbage on a TV.

Also, CWCheat support.

Well, you can't expect it to run even remotely close to how the PSVita PSP emulator runs. You couldn't upscale them, aply AA and texture filter them without them running like shit. Well, it probably would run like shit even if you ran it at stock settings.

Other than the cheat support, I doubt the Vita has enough grunt to do most of that at a decent framerate.

Ok, so I got the email portion working now I think. Sent it to myself and got the "cannot display image" message.

What now? What has doing this done? I see people are now having non-compatible games work. How is this being done? Are we sending files via email? Still confused on how to use this effectively

Of course, the first thing I do with my PS TV is play Michael Jackson: The Experience using the PS4 touchpad.

I got a C on Smooth Criminal.
