Vita "hacked," (PSP) homebrew on the way (not piracy)

That's what I did and it worked for PSP games from PSN. I don't have a functional custom bubble yet, but the one I did do didn't do anything differently/worse than before I did that file.

Ok, maybe it's the base game that I'm using. I've used LocoRoco, Ape Quest, and Talkman Tokyo. All of them have the same "can't launch on PSTV error" with my ark bubble or my Initial D Street Stage bubble that I've made with the hackinformer guides.

NEW frameware update for the PS Vita

Hey, can anyone help me understand how to bypass the system update notification that pops up when I either try to go on the store or connect to QCMA?

EDIT: Unsure on how to use Vitaupdateblocker program

It may be a long shot, but does anyone have any experience customizing Vita bubbles? I successfully changed the bubble icon of my ARK bubble, but I can't change the live area background or icon. I'm stuck in this step from Hackinformer's tutorial, since my custom bubble doesn't have an entry in the tbl_livearea section of my database :S

Code:
Go once again to Browse Data and select tbl_livearea this time. Search for your titleID and change the org_path to the same link as well. (ux0:pspemu/PSP/SAVEDATA/CUSTOMIZATION/vhbl)

To use QCMA without updating, put your Vita into airplane mode and restart it. Keep it on airplane mode and connect it to your PC. It should work without having to update.

To use Vita Update Blocker, just run the program on your PC. Go to the connection settings on your Vita, enable the proxy and put the IP:port address you are given by VUB. Then connect to the PSN Store. When you have successfully logged in, "minimize" the store (go back to the bubbles but don't close the sticker) and turn the proxy off, so you can browse and download faster.

The process is a bit more involved than that... but basically, yes, that's the gist of it. You can either install one bubble per game (simpler but more tedious) or install ARK and launch them through it (just one bubble to rule them all, but a lot more room for error since not many games work as a base for it).

I got my ARK bubble working with Midnight Club L.A. Remix as base.

Thanks Joey.

I have an hacked Ps Vita 1000 but i'd like to try this method on the 2000.
Anyway, I don't care if I have one bubble for game or just Ark to launch them all. It's the same. I'd like to play Grand Knight History (japanese, patched in english) on the lighter Ps Vita.

So in order to to that, should I follow this video tutorial?
It really takes 50 minutes to do that!? :(

http://wololo.net/2015/10/01/tutorial-ps-vita-custom-bubbles-for-system-softwares-3-5x/

Those 50 minutes is mostly preperation and going through each step in intricate detail, once you've got it all down in your head it won't take longer than 15-20 minutes to do another bubble.

Also, I got ARK working with MGS Portable Ops as a base, just to inform. EU.

Does anyone know if transferring a memory card to a PSTV will remove all of the custom bubbles?

I'm looking for the quickest way to launch a PSP game on Ps Vita (so just the ARK is enough for me). Do we have a tutorial just for it (and not for bubbles)?

Well, I can almost get ARK going, but once I overcome error c1 2749 2 I get hit with error c1 2858 3. I have tried a few different base games and no luck.

Do updates wipe out the bubble you guys are getting into ARK with?

Got ARK to work using Zett's guide...

Basegame was MGS Peace Walker, ARK menu is 138Menu.

Tested homebrew: SNES9x TYL

Ha ha, got it to work. Stupid mistake that your post made clear. Namely, I wasn't putting all of the ARK folders in the right place. Embarrassing.

I used Mega Man Maverick as my base, for anyone who is curious.

Hehehe. Good to know my post helped someone! :)

I was getting the "No games" message no matter what I did, so I tried to change the menu to 138 and then it detected the zip files with the homebrews.

That brings the next question: where should I be placing psp games and emulators for ARK? I read that it should be going inside of the savegames, but I haven't had any luck with that yet

K got it im good to go.
Jesus never again. Ill buy a new vita before updating this one. Thats as good an excuse as any, this ones getting a little tired, FEB 3g edition.
Base game was Pixeljunk Monsters.
Did it with the reddit tut, way easier/quicker then zetts tut

Supposedly, and as far as I know, 3.55 only fixes the EML exploit. Any bubble you have created on 3.52 should still be there after you update.

This is how I did it on ONEMenu, which is by no means the most elegant solution: I copied all my PSP CISOS into a save folder (I think I used ARK's, in fact) and transfered the folder into my Vita using QCMA. Afterwards, I moved each game manually from the save folder to the ISO directory (press Select to switch to the file explorer and then triangle with a file selected to cut, copy, paste or delete it). Keep in mind that you can't create new folders in that directory if you're on 3.51/3.52. It took me a couple of hourse, since moving each file on its own is quite slow, but it did the trick. I assume that other menus will have similar operations.

As for homebrew and PSX games, I don't know. You can load PSX eboots manually, but I haven't found a way to make ONEMenu display them as it does with PSP games...

So the basic consensus is that if I plan on keeping my vita up to date (ps+ games, new games, etc) then this is best done on an 'extra' vita to have all my old psp games working?

If so... man, I wish I had a bigger budget because I can't afford a second vita right now.

I'm trying to follow the 1 hour tutorial but I got stuck at the famous

i've read that I should write down (and not copy and paste) the code

email:send?attach=ur0:shell/db/app.db.

but nothing changed

Any hints please?

You can create any bubbles you like on 3.52, then update to 3.55. You'll be stuck with whatever you have created prior to updating, but at least you can keep your Vita and games updated. I plan on doing that after a while :)

Thanks! Interesting, I didn't catch on that there was a file explorer built into ARK. However, my psp games aren't showing up in the explorer. In fact, neither is the FTP iso.

Oh well, I will tinker around with it

edit: Ha! Nevermind. I just had to give the games there own folder, and then they were recognized.

I was getting this, too. In Thunderbird, if you click on one of the links that you created, then click the arrow next to the other icon next to the smiley-face icon, then select Link, it will show you the link for that text. For some reason, the URL got changed to something like app%2D%4C.db. or something, so I changed it back to app.db., and that worked. It also messed with the email subject, so I had to change that, as well.
I'm guessing that error is something like a file not found error.

C1-2756-0

:suicide:

I was creating this error when I was pointing to the wrong spot in Bubble Editor. When you open the program, the EBOOT.PBP Path is set to ux0:pspemu/psp/savedata/MY_APP_NAME/eboot. So I would replace MY_APP_NAME with ARK_01234 so that it said ux0:pspemu/psp/savedata/ARK_01234/eboot and it wouldn't work. Instead, I had to remove that last /eboot so that the path looked like this: ux0:pspemu/psp/savedata/ARK_01234.

Maybe that will help

I got a Vita to try out the homebrew (wouldn't mind getting an eCFW for the PSP Emulator installed either if viable).

What's my best way to go about getting Rejuvenate / eCFW at this time ? (It's a new system so there's no games or PSN account on it at this point).

I'm trying to follow some instructions in order to put FPTVITA on my PS Vita.
I need a specific PSP game to do this (following that tutorial) that is the APE QUEST DEMO that you can download for free on PSN.

My problem so far.

I've two different PS Vita
1) Ps Vita 3.55 (updated)
2) Ps Vita 3.52 (that I'm trying to hack)

Since my PS Vita is not updated (I have FW 3.55) I cannot access to PSN.
I have another PS Vita and I downloaded the APE QUEST DEMO using that one. When done, I moved the game from PS Vita (3.55) to PC.

Now, I should put some files inside the game folder on PC and move the game to PS Vita (3.52). Sadly when I transfer the game from PC to PS Vita (3.52) I get an error.

It does make sense since the demo was downloaded using the same account but with a different system (PS Vita 3.55 VS 3.52).

Is there a way to bypass this problem and transfer the game to Ps Vita 3.52 or not since my mistake was not to download the demo before the update came out?

Just to let you know, on Ps Vita 3.52 I have a few games regoularly bought and installed: these are NUBLAST, 30SECONDS HERO and PACMANCE. Could I use those games? I guess not.

Thanks for help. I hope I was clear enough.

Okay I got ark on my vita. I dumped my psp iso from my phat how do I move them over? I guess you can't just put them in the save file anymore? To big.

Yes you can. Use QCMA. I just transferred a shitloads and it all worked fine. Use ARK to then move them to a new folder on your SD.

You know

Using gpsp on my Vita is a stark indicator of just how good it is currently on the new 3DS. It's significantly better on the N3DS.

But then again, 333mhz single core vs 804mhz quadcore lol

Have you guys seen this? It's another easy method for creating bubbles! I already have my ARK bubble up and running, but it'll be great for people who are still having issues while creating it.

PS: Thanks, Rich, for the wallpaper! I've been using the "Bokeh" theme, but having Monokuma will be great once I start my first Danganronpa playthrough :P

PS1 has no sound currently and SNES runs like shit.

I'd stick to Sega, GBA, NES and such if I were you.

Lame the only thing I want is a god damn portable thps2 and super metroid player. I think I might just gut my other vita and hardware mod a android device in there. Will be easier then getting native hacks on this thing.

Play around a bit with the SNES settings. When I first used it on my Vita I was feeling the same way. Hardly any game ran smooth "out of the box" which had me change most of the graphics and speed settings depending on the game I wanted to play. Eventually I got everything to run smooth with the exeption of Yoshis Island.

Man this is a pain lol, anyone get Jeanne D'arc working as base for ARK? I got a bubble on my Vita but it either opens briefly then drops back to vita homescreen, or goes black and freezes or something lol.

Better to delete and try something else? Also I want the base game installed before I add the bubble right? Not sure what I'm doing wrong lol

3.52 firmware also
