So I hate to get salesy but I just realised that if at gamescom they had sold 2.2 million and then yesterday yosp said they sold 3 million....

800k in two months has to be the best selling its been since launch right?

That seems way too high, there must be some number fudging at work.

Even 360 probably hasn't sold that many worldwide in 2 months.

The Vita's a unique case, with the low sales and the huge glut of games out now/soon that a lot of people have been waiting for might be driving a lot of sales.

I wouldn't take anything like that seriously until you see it in a press release. Though if true a lot of that could have been the shipments sold for the Christmas period as there are loads of bundles out at the moment. (5 in the UK afaik, AC:L, COD, NFS, Fifa, and LBP)

I'm honestly not going to worry about sales which is why I try and steer clear of the other threads. I spent my money, I have a ridiculous backlog of both PS1 and PSP games not to mention the Vita ones I want to play.

If they pulled the plug tomorrow and said there would be no more games and no more development of the software then I can honestly say I was happy to have taken part and to have been there, just like many who look back on the Dreamcast with similar happy memories. The only way that would change would be if they also said, "oh, and we are disabling PSN access and removing the games from the network".

Since the latter won't happen, I will just let Sony worry about selling the thing and I'll worry about playing through the games I already have. Sure I'll tweet or FB about a good deal here and there, but I'm not going to get bent out of shape worrying about a £250 console. Bigger things in life to worry about and more money spent on shit that didn't give me half as much enjoyment or use.

Bear in mind we know for sure it's been selling low numbers in both Japan and North America for the last couple months, so while PAL is an unknown (I think), that's a lot of ground to make up in one region.

I don't mean to sound negative, I'm happy it's selling better, even if these numbers are a bit stretched, but I don't want to get carried away.

Oh I'm sure it's not right I just only just put 2 and 2 together is all :) figured people in this thread would be interested but not suddenly declare it dead...

I was proven right!

Finally I can join the Vita train, in the UK I managed to get a great 'mates-rates' deal on an unopened Vita, 4 gig card and Wipeout 2048 for £160.

Question is, does anyone know what is happening about Playstation Plus and Vita?

It's out this month - should be getting details this week

This week. Though we don't know if it STARTS this week or if we are just getting details of what we will get.

Before Carl turns up, buy Mutant Blobs.

That's a great deal you got, though you are probably going to want a new card soon.

If it doesn't get a PS+ sale I'll get it this month.

Thanks for the advice. I'm currently shopping for a new card - hoping for a pre-Christmas bargain.

I'll check out Mutant Blobs as well!

This actually looks nice, too bad about the SP.

multiplayers the only thing that matters for me in that game. If its decent il get it. Its nice to have a competative shooter to just fire and and play a few round of when im in the mood.

Resistance is still being used for that but its heavily flawed. BOD is looking like it should play a lot better.

Just picked up a Vita today along with Uncharted. Are there any worthwhile rpg's on the system yet? I know Persona 4 is being released this month and will pick that up after I have beaten the other games on my PSP, but beyond that any other ones coming this year?

Not in North America. You could always scout out Ragnarok Odyssey if you're in the mood for a Monster Hunter-style multiplayer game without much in the way of story.
Disgaea 3 would also qualify as a strategy RPG that offers plenty of polish and long-term play value.

Clearly there are more traditional RPGs to recommend on the PSP front that you may have ignored (i.e. The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky).
I would also contend that you don't need to play the earlier Persona titles before diving into Persona 4. They're standalone entries for the most part.

Here is this week's release calendar for those of you not checking the OP on a regular basis.

THIS AFTERNOON @ GCT

Dokuro (digital for Canada & Mexico)
Legends of War: Patton
Ragnarok Odyssey (retail - Canada)
When Vikings Attack! (digital only)

THIS FRIDAY?

DJMax Technika Tune (retail)

When Vikings Attack! is clearly a go for today and is this week's highest profile release as a cross-platform/"get both versions for the price of 1" title that is reviewing exceptionally well. Check out the OT here.
You can pre-order it on your PS3s today before Grace Chen wakes up and save $3.

The rest of North America finally gets Dokuro.
Canadian retailers are finally shipping Ragnarok Odyssey. I'll be clearing that out of the OP shortly.
Legends of War: Patton appears to be a legit low-profile release. Both GameStop and Metacritic have had today's date earmarked for its release but whether it actually materializes or not today remains to be seen.

DJMax Technika Tune's release is still kind of a mystery. After the initial delay from October, Pentavision bumped the date for their pre-release free game sweepstakes from the 26th of October to November 9th. Will they finally ship copies of the game this Friday? Your guess is as good as mine. Could be next week. Could be later in November.

Thanks for the info. Will definitely pickup Disgaea 3 as I loved the first two (Any news about Disgaea 4 being ported?).

Also, I have played most of the major rpg releases on the PSP and will be looking to buy some of the ones on PSN so I can play on the vita screen :)

Hopefully next year is better in terms of RPGs.

I hope this is true. But, I don't have it pre-ordered. I need this game. :(

How in the world do threads like that current "Vita sucks" go on for so long? And why do they pop up every week? There's got to be something in the ToS against that, seriously. -_-

Well even though the vita is "dying" I just bought a used limited edition 3g/wifi one on ebay for $121 after applying a paypal credit of 30 bucks.

It comes with a little deviants and a 4gb card and a nice case. So at least I didnt pay the full $300 if it does go belly up. What do you recommend for games. I will going on a long train ride and cruise this december.

It really depends what genres you like. NFS Most Wanted is excellent, I'm enjoying what I've played of AC3 although I haven't played much, and I don't know if it's the longest game. LBP is great. The sports games will last you a long time, MGS HD as well.

I'm going to agree with Paul and say we need an idea of what genre you dig. There are LOADS of amazing games available, we just need to know what direction to steer you. :)

Oh wow. The Russian advert posted a few pages back is exactly the same... just in Russian. Still great!

Hey if you've got stuff to do, then you've got stuff to do. You should never have to apologise for not being on GAF :P

I'm pumped! I just finally got my new AC3 Liberation Vita bundle last weekend, along with Uncharted: GA, LBP, VLR, and Disgaea 3.

I also bought mutant blobs attack to make carl happy.

So far I'm really, really impressed with the hardware. The touchscreen and gyroscope stuff seems to work great, the screen looks great, etc. The only real downside to the hardware is that the battery life seems pretty terrible.

Anyway, I'll stop gushing now. I was really only buying the system because of P4G, but I've been very pleasantly surprised. Hopefully it won't be declared dead before more people have a chance to check it out.

I was just going to say to the other new vita owners that you really owe it to yourself to play Uncharted: Golden Abyss if you are a fan of the series. It doesn't look quite as pretty as it's console brothers (although it still looks good), but they've managed to put a full uncharted experience on a handheld without making too many sacrifices. I've put about 8 hours into it and I have 8 chapters left to go, and it has the normal collectible stuff / crushing difficulty, etc. from the consoles for further replay-ability.

I also think it does a pretty good job of showing off a lot of the touch gimmicks in a way that doesn't really hurt the overall experience, although I know some people hate it.

I don't want to ever have to play another Uncharted without touch climbing.
