So getting in on the Gamestop Buy 1 Get 1. Getting Lumines for sure, but debating between Dynasty Warriors and Metal Gear Solid HD... Already have beat the Metal Gears on PS2, but haven't played HD versions, also I have never played a Dynasty Warrior game, but hack and slash sounds like fun.

What to get, what to get... Its that or get Mortal Kombat..

If you havent played MK yet, it has ton of content. MGS2 and 3 are the same as MGS2 Sub and MGS3 so you dont miss out much (except excessive trophy hunting). If you dont have an insatiable hunger to replay MG (like I did), go with MK if you have any interest in Beat em ups. Tons of kontent.

Get Persona 4

Did this deal start today? The only one I am aware of is the B2G1 on used items.

Glitch online, makes it Buy 1 Get 1..

Get Persona 4

I want to get Persona 4, but I have a hard time shelling out $40 for a handheld game. I think they should be $30, and my Vita hasn't been getting much use, I keep neglecting it, been really busy.

Why should a game be cheaper because it's for a handheld?

Well.. games ARE cheaper because they are for a handheld. Console releases usually start at 60€ here, and Vita games at 40€.

I haven't bought used games in years... Buy 1 Get 1, shot me over the edge. Can Vita stuff really be messed up used? It's a Box and a game card..

Nah, he probably was referring to the availability of used games. There wont be Persona 4 used for example :P

However, do note that some games require online passes, which you need to rebuy online if they already have been used in the retail copy. Usually costs around 10$ more. MK might have one, cant say for certain though. Apparently it doesnt.

The game is usually less than what a console game would be, so it shouldn't be the same Price. $40 is a very good price for Persona 4 and most Vita games, but as I've never played a Persona, my entry mark is lower. The $50 games for Vita, I will never support.

Thus why I chose MGS HD... I haven't played those in a long time, so replaying them shall be fun.

I just hate buying used games. Used online passes, stickers on the box, etc..

With the plus update, are save games now separated for vita? I.e. Can you back up saves to pc via content manager, or does that only work to upload online

ONLY savegames only work online with +. You can still backup the whole thing though.

So how does Jet Set play on the Vita? Framerate and stuff alright?

This is a pretty apt description:
After playing Jet Set Radio demo extensively, it's safe to say its conversion is exactly what I hoped it would be. It looks vibrant, sharp and plain gorgeous. It runs well without hiccups or slowdown. It wouldn't surprise me if this conversion is handled better than the ones on PS3 or Xbox 360 but it probably won't be better than the PC version. I'd love to read comparison talk from members who know more about these kind of technical stuff.

There was a problem though. I got an error while playing the demo and had to restart the game after reporting to sony. Also, I'm a bit disappointed about the touch screen graffiti. Is it me or is it pretty much impossible to pull some of them off? I'm talking about the circle curved ones, the vita can't seem to detect it. Up and down works though.

These are not enough reasons to not get the game though, it brings back memories, it's a gem and and controls very well. Sold!

If you already know what game it is and liked the original version, you'll like this too. It has 90's game design written all over it, though, so if you never played it, it might not be as polished as you might expect from all the praise its getting.

Still a great game with a great soundtrack.

I see what you're saying now, that is very true. Though it doesn't make much difference where I live, they're asking high prices for US cards which makes them cost as much as EU PSN cards. I wish I could find them cheaper somewhere but what can you do?

There's a demo for JSR? Where?

I've never really understood the mentality that games must be less expensive because they're for a handheld platform. If it's a good game, it should be worth good money.

And Persona 4, by all accounts, is a -very- good game.

Handheld games have lower budgets, and usually don't offer as much content and graphical detail to console counterparts. What you are essentially saying is the $10 iOS games should also be $60.

Yeah, I've played it. Still own JSRF too. Was just curious because I heard there was hitching on the console ones.

Thanks though for the quote. Hard to keep up with the thread sometimes.

Thats what we are here for ;)

Is Call of Duty Black Ops Declassified worth $10 less than Black Ops 2??? no. Should be $30.

Persona 4 is worth $40, but like I have said, I have never played one so my entry point is not full price.

Again, good games should be worth good money. I don't see where you're going with the iOS argument, and I never said anything about lower budgets (and there's no rule that says handheld games always have lower budgets than other games). I only said I don't understand why handhelds automatically mean games aren't allowed to be expensive.

Eeeeh, I generally agree with your sentiments that if a game is good, it should be worth the money no matter the platform. However, as a rule, usually handheld games indeed have lower budgets, mostly through the focus on less resolution. The higher the resolution, the more expensive the development of almost every game. I mean thats one of the reasons why console games usually cost around 60$, while Vita games cost around 40$.

Why pay $60 for a console experience on a Handheld, when I can get that on my PS3 is the way many interpret it. It's why my vita as been getting less use than usual. Console games drop cheap so quick that I can get the full console quality for cheaper than the half-assed port to Vita.

It's why I usually hate ports to Vita. I want original games that are like Big brother but give me something entirely different. GTA Vice City Stories did this and Assassin's Creed Liberation, etc.

Look, no one wants to spend $50 for a Vita game, let alone $60. You're saying that a good game should be worth good money, but a good game is different to everyone. I liked Gravity Rush, but definitely wouldn't spend $60 on it, then around another $10 for the DLC.

Isn't your line of thinking why cross buy exists?

Do we have total numbers of every game up to a certain day?

No, but it's been said before that Uncharted was the best selling game.

Maybe that was only for launch(?) but even if it was, the point still stands. People clearly don't mind paying $50 for a Vita game

Cross Buy is limited to a few games it isn't system wide. And it was more for the people that wanted both games for each system. Usually I but a game for the Vita because it's better as a pick up and play game, or better suited as a handheld over a console game. There are exceptions when I like a game, that when I'm gone from home I want to play that same experience on the Vita and Cross Buy helps with that. Do this mostly with sports games, may do it with NFS MW.

I bought that game week 1, for under $40... as did many others, as it was the best game for the system at launch to show what the Vita could do. I wasn't going to pay $50, even if the game was made exclusively for it and to promote it. And I will wait for Declassified to drop in price, as it isn't worth the $50 price tag, if a game was worth $50 it probably would have been Persona 4. I don't want to show that gamers will go for that $50 price point.

Oh yes, I dont disagree, sorry. I was just curious whether we have cumulative sales numbers. I'd be interested in comparing US/EU sales for single games up to now.

Ok just as an example, Rayman has a way smaller budget than god of war 3,i can get both at $30 why would i only look at the game budgets and not which game looks more interesting to me?I don't mind paying $50 for a game which looks good to me.

On Day 1, you couldn't get both for $30.. one was $30, one was $60...

It's better to look at Rayman and when it came out on Vita, it was available on PS3 for a cheaper price. Many couldn't get it on Vita because it was cheaper on PS3, others thought it was better as a handheld and worth the extra money.

Ok just to get my point across,if i can get AC2 and Uncharted 2 for $60 day one on the PS3 i'm not going to look at the budgets then,i'll just pick the one(if i just have $60) which looks better to me.

I'm going to pick the better game depending on what i want to play at that time.. If I could get Uncharted 2 on Vita for $40 and Uncharted 2 for $60, that's an good difference to look at owning one or the other, looking at if I think it's better suited on the Vita or not.

Whereas if they were both $50.. I would pick the PS3 version every time.

It's why Pokemon has never come to consoles..

Vita needs more games made just for the console, that isn't just like big brother on a smaller screen. Liberation is a very good start in this, completely different games but same gameplay. Give me a reason to get both and not choose between each one. I get my Asscreed fix, without playing the same damn game.

I will elaborate on that a bit later extensively, but omg. No Heroes Allowed is soooo good. WDITDTDTDTDML 1 seems like a demo compared to NHA. I already liked the first game for what it is, but this game is soooooooo good. They added quite a few new mechanics as well. I actually have a hard time justifying to recommend buying WDITDTDTDTDML now that I can compare it to the follow up games.

BUY NO HEROES ALLOWED! (10$)

In addition to all the other good games.

Whereas if they were both $50.. I would pick the PS3 version every time.

I'd pick the Vita version every time.

Differing opinions then as it always will be,i personally wouldn't give a damn.If i feel like playing on the vita or the PS3 i'll just buy it on that.

If I wanted to play on vita, I would wait for the price to drop. If I can get the full console experience for the same price as a handheld, I'd rather sit on my couch with full surround sound and play it that way.
