Vita PSN Game And Service Thread

The funny thing is, there is some strategy to the game.

Of course, there's waiting for a circle to get as small as it can, and rubbing it to get the max points. But also, you'd notice that after a few presses, some circles shrink much slower than others. These are the ones you want on screen, while you're rubbing a yellow point, as they give much more score (and take longer to complete).

Also, using one of the yellows as you "last" in a stage can yeild a score substantially over the target score, making the following stage (or stages) easier and quicker to complete.

I've at least learned enough about the gameplay to be able to go from "D"s and "E"s, to best being a "B", now.

Seriously taking it as a game (and ignoring the creepy side of it), there's 3 things I wish it had.

1. A combo mechanic, or some kind of bonus reward for keeping circles from disappearing. You lose 3 seconds when you miss one, but it'd be more interesting if, say, every 10 you kept from disappearing, you got a "times _" score multiplier, or something.

2. A way to recover / increase overall time. Maybe making a circle grow fully should restore a second? The way it is now forces perfection, as you can never recover from any mistakes.

3. A gallery. You should be able to review the pictures you've already obtained. Instead, you have one of the most dead titlescreens EVER!

Like I mentioned in the old thread, the circle-pressing gameplay reminds me of Technic Beat... which means all this game does, is make me want a Vita-fied version of THAT game!

But anyway, for 2 bucks, I think it's ok. Serviceable, but nothing to elevate it to being inspired, or purely fun, beyond score-chasing, and trying to see the next pic. At least she changes stockings?
(Zettai ryouiki fetish fuel?)

Could have been much worse, at least there's a solid attempt at gameplay there. I do wish Vita allowed for multi-screen touch, and I think this game could have benefited from Rear-touch as an option too, but I've played much worse... (much of those on XBLIG, lol.)

For those outside the US, where are you importing Technika Tune from?

I was going to go with Videogamesplus but they're not carrying it. :|

I'd also like to know, I tried the official Technika Tune site but the shipping cost was way to high in my opinion. I've heard it should be popping up on Amazon at some stage so that may be an option (though I'm not sure if you can import games from Amazon's USA site?)

Good morning, afternoon, evening Vitabros. I will be purchasing SFxT this week. Anyone else getting it so I can try an online match?

I assume you're probably not in Switzerland, but the particular online shop where I usually buy my games from orders import games on request and sells them at acceptable prices (an imported Vita game usually costing as much as a regular PS3 game, sometimes less).

Sajj I picked up the Hori Grip

Good reviews + stealing yo' style

The other ones still looked to cumbersome

I was pretty sure I'd buy it, but now I'm not. Their DLC system is so freakin' confusing. I'm just a casual gamer, but there being tons of things that I don't have would piss me off.

I'll be picking it up at launch, I enjoyed Ultimate MVC3 on the Vita so I'm hoping this port is fairly good. I'll have to give the online side of things a good try early on as UMVC3 is practically dead now, just Japanese people playing (laggy as hell for me) or quitters.

I am eyeing this at Play-Asia. But still haven't committed to make the final decision of ordering. Too expensive for someone that never tried the franchise but it's somewhat curious to try it.

Yeah, that's why I was hoping VG+ would have it, their prices are extremely reasonable. Like you I'm not prone to dropping £45 on something I'm not completely sure of. I want it, but not £45 want.

While trying to find those free Vita games in the new PS3 store I found a Unit 13 demo in the Spanish store, that as I remember it wasn't published here before.
It's PSMobile. They were highlighted in the Gamescom trailer.
so I'd bet it's a iOS port.

Play-asia, both korean and japanese version have full english text.

Free shipping too.

Caution that importing the Korean version of Technika Tune pretty much guarantees you'll never see any DLC ever unless you perform identity theft to get yourself a Korean PSN account. Probably the biggest reason to get the US version - much cheaper to get US PSN credit than JP PSN credit no matter where in the world you are and parity has been promised across all three versions.

So Tune is going to get DLC?
Remember, the guy you're replying to is probably EU based and not able to get the US digital Technika Tune. He can play the game retail, but anything digital not EU is off-limits for him. So if US or JP Tune get DLC, that's not possible to use for the EU user at all.

This is why I'm paranoid to import Project Diva f. If it gets DLC or even worse DLC with trophies, you can't access the DLC since the account needs to be Japanese. So impossible trophy 100% for non-Japanese accounts.
Happened recently with Ciel Nosurge as an example.

The one account Vita thing is really getting on my nerves.

If it helps, Platinum trophies typically don't require DLC trophies.

Making a Japanese PSN account is trivial, though it's pretty annoying how many hoops you have to jump through to switch on Vita. I'm currently in Japan mode for Project DIVA f but will switch back for Technika Tune and others.

I've almost wrapped up Resistance BS, and in all honesty I don't get all of the negativity this game had! I felt the campaign was pretty damn solid all around, especially for a frickin' handheld FPS.

After playing this I'm more at ease with Nihilistic doing Call of Duty. I'm not expecting AAA homerun, but I think it'll be pretty competent. Just had to share that lol

Yes, I'm aware of Japanese accounts and all. I've been playing Japanese PSN and retail games for years. But that was all PS3 software. Now the Vita comes out and throws a curveball with only one account support and says "all digital content, games and DLC, are off-limits unless your account matches the region Store".

So for trophies, many games are off-limits now since you can't access Japanese games. Assault Gunners, Digi-Q Tanks, Piccoto Knights, a handful of Japanese exclusive free apps to name a few. A growing number.

Then there's games that have retail versions in Japan that you can import and play while on your US/EU account, but if that gets any DLC, you can't access them. So some DLC that may aid or be necessary for Platinum in an RPG for example...off-limits. DLC that also has trophies...off-limits, making 100% off-limits.

These are all issues of not having a Japanese account as your main. But what about if you do have a Japanese account as your main? Then there's many games US/EU get for Vita that others don't. Ecolibrium for example is EU digital only, not possible to even play by US/JP players. What about if you have a JP account and want to play some of the new localized digital games that came to US, like New Little King's Story or Orgarhythm? Too bad, can't play them at all and have to play the Japanese versions you (in my situation) can't understand fully. What about a game like Ragnarok Odyssey that is coming to US? It will have lots of DLC if it's anything like JP version, but your JP account would then not be able to access that US DLC!

I've been deciding whether to make a Japanese or US account as my main now. There are major sacrifices to be made on both ends as far as availability of games.
Then there's PS3 game problems too, like inFamous Festival of Blood not being possible to 100% on a Japanese account or Gundam Battle Operation only being possible realistically on a Japanese account, as well as other micro-transaction based games that call up the JP Store like 100 Yen Gomibako or Toro Station 2.
It's a very tough decision.

So... do both? The system restore to change accounts procedure is annoying but not terribly complicated; the hardest part is acquiring a second memory card.

The problem isn't in the single player (at least for me). That ran at a stable frame rate and was decent enough throughout, just a bit to easy with a stupidly overly hard boss.

The problem is frame rate drops and lag online.

I played it some more and got myslef to lvl 40 so thats done as well now. It is fun when the problems dont arrise (which isn't often) but also the lag is terribad, to the point where get people that:
- get stuck (but they arnt stuck on their screen, so people will just kill them over and over.
- people run around immune to all bullets but can still kill you (melee sometimes works against them if your lucky)
- Tag people with bullseye and it will either work or just out right not work 50% of the time.

The thing is its like half the players are lagged and half arnt. So you can kill some of the players just fine but some go into invincible mode. Also the latest patch has added bugs that allow people to glitch into places where they can shoot you and you cant shoot them.

It has potential though. In the few games where the lag is 90% fine and on a lvl where the frame rate drop isn't to horrific for an fps its pretty fun. So yeah.... COD might be OK. But im not holding my breath. If its fixed at 30fps and the lag isn't so crazy as in this game I will buy it. However I'm not convinced those issues wont transfer over.

Just want to say the first post makes it sound like that's all that's coming to Vita soon. US/EU is getting Let's Try Bass Fishing FISH ON NEXT this year as Let's Fish: Hooked On, supposedly Malicious Rebirth is coming Q4 2012 (may or may not be coming to West that quick), Oboro Muramasa is coming early 2013 and chances are it'll be localized (yes, the gorgeous Wii game that many passed up), and so on. Some seriously interesting gems.

Yeah, memory card switching an option if all you want to do is access and play the games...but it still doesn't make getting trophies on your main account on these Japanese exclusive digital Vita games a possibility. And again retail JP games you can play on any account, but if that JP retail game gets DLC trophies? Impossible 100%.

My main concern with the account issue if trophies. If trophies didn't exist or I didn't care about them, then this wouldn't be too much of an issue...an inconvenience to access the content, but not a big deal. But my importance of them does exist and I like to have everything I play and complete on my main account.

It's funny actually...how many people that care about trophies are in the dark about this. The "unachievable" thread on ps3trophies.org is completely oblivious to what's going on with the Vita and the one account system disallowing the possibility of even games being accessable and DLC trophies.

I kept all trophies on a main account up until purchasing a Vita as well, but I prioritize accessibility to content over trophies. So, with Project DIVA f, my JP account earned its first trophies.

If I really wanted to I suppose I could play it on both accounts (as I bought it retail) and earn all trophies twice. Not sure how many retail games block that though.

I'm not sure any retail other-region accounts are blocked. The only thing blocked would be micro-transactions since that calls up the source region's PS Store.
The Vita is region-free but only in the retail sense. Digital sense, it is region and account locked.

So if you care about trophy completion, putting a retail JP game like Project Diva f on a US account list is a gamble. Because if that Japanese-only game gets DLC trophies, say goodbye to the 100% forever.
Unless it gets localized with DLC available on the US store with the same trophy list entry. Which many of these interesting JP games won't. Zero Escape VLR just got a different list entry.

I'm only wondering if PSN information is stored to the game card itself in any case - I recall hearing the game cards -can- have writable portions, and am wondering if there are game cards that permanently tie themselves to the first PSN account that uses them.

I've heard things along those lines back when the Vita launched. But now with some firmware updates I think it's not tied to the first account. There may be some kind of system thing going on there. For example if I put a copy of Project Diva f into Vita A with Account A and then put it into Vita B with Account B it should work. But putting game into Vita A with Account A then Vita A with Account B, not sure.

I remember when Vita was first announced, then NGP, and they said how the game cartridges could hold the saves, patches, and dlc on them. That was a huge selling point for me. The crazy thing is that, if these cartridges are 4gb which I think they are, many of the retail games out right now COULD hold that data on it, which makes it all the more aggravating that they don't. Most if not all even require a memory card just for the saves, which could EASILY be put onto the cartridges.

But then they realised they would have no way to sell you overpriced memory cards, so they quickly backpeddled.

this, as much as anything about the vita, imo, is genuinely fucked-up. all game carts should contain your save data. stupid, & inexcusable...

people into dd would've bought them. but, yeah, they pretty much made them mandatory for everyone...
