Games that went free?
There was a fuckup on sony's part on the EU new PSN store. Some Vita games showing as already bought for both the full version and the demos.
Not sure yet if it's just a problem of label for trial/demo version, or if the real games were really for free.

They were just demos. Not free games at all.

Is there a way to backup saves apart from the content manager? I haven't updated my firmware to 1.80 yet due to them locking accounts to a single memory card and I haven't gotten around to trying to back up my saves until today, but when I try to do so via content manager it tells me I must update first. So are my Japanese game saves lost forever or is there a way to get around this?

Well not locked, but you have to format to switch accounts if you only use the single memory card, which is too much of a hassle if you want to switch frequently.
Have you tried downloading an older version of content manager?

and ouch, ACIII £40. too rich for my blood, especially if I buy the PS3 version, and buy NFS on two platforms (vita and PC or PS3)
Please elaborate. I just upgraded my memory card to an 8 GB and transferred everything via the backup function but seem to be missing some things (my Ninja Gaiden and Mortal Kombat saves, specifically). Is this due to the lock Sony implemented?

If you mean it is missing the bubbles -- those will reappear when you put the game card back in and your saves will be intact.

Sounds like those games save to the game card. Put them back in the system and it'll make the bubble again complete with your old saves.
Changing cards on the Vita is a pain in the ass. Even upgrading memory size.

Press pause and hit the save game option? Auto saves happen after mission completions IIRC.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned before, but I'm considering Gamestop's deal of SF vs Tekken PS3 & Vita for $50, and was wondering if buying the Vita version with all of the character dlc included, unlocks them for play in the PS3 version?
Or do you still have to purchase the characters for the PS3?

No idea about EU, but it's fairly inexpensive on Grainger Games...and their shipping costs to Europe don't seem too exorbitant.
The Vita version unlocks the characters for the ps3 version, or at least this is what they said.
Glad to hear something about Dragon's Crown btw.
There's a tool called Open Content Manager out there, you could give it a try.

It's the other way around. Firmware 1.80 locked memory cards to a single account. You can still have multiple memory cards for the same account, you just can't have more than one account sharing a single memory card.

dont suppose anyone has heard any news on if they will be releasing more apps onto the store either via the normal PSN store or the PSMobile section?
I know with regards to PSMobile its restricted which who can develop till sometime in november but Im wonder if they have said after that they will be allowing apps.
Just wanna know if I need to look into a nexus 7 or iPad mini by end of next month (my birthday) or if vita will have enough to keep me happy.

Also I started playing tactics Ogre again a few days ago and im totally hook. Its just so damn good.
I kinda lost interest the first time as I just had so many games I bought at once I got distracted but now thats all settled down Im started to really get my teeth into it. On chapter 3 now. Does your party size get large than 10 later on or should I base my set up the 10 limit I currently get?

Oh then tablet not needed... hurray.
But on a serious note I may just get a nexus 7 anyway for PC streaming and non game related stuff. Vita would be amazing if it could do all that stuff as well as a tablet but I think im prob just dreaming.
On topic of course..... Cant wait for AC:L. A week to go. Please don't choke ubisoft sofia.
