I've had a machine to play them on since i was about 11,
I don't "do" RPGs. I don't find them interesting at all
Although i do own pretty much every PSOne final fantasy game

My Vita was a CTR machine for a couple of weeks..so addictive.
Sometimes I think you could get more points if you start playing being very good but at level 1, as I'm getting the impression you get more and more locked gems in your board as you level up (at level 94 now).
The best I ever got with no enhancements I think was something like 2-3 million, so 16,5 is impressive to me.
Incidentally, it seems that the game always has a pattern that gives you near 100% chance at winning gems at the start. For the longest time it was:

-- -- xx
Which I tried because I thought that was probably the least likely choice for many, and therefore the game's randomness might be biased to this combo, and now it seems to be the same but mirrored:
xx -- --
-- -- xx
xx -- --
I'm really leveling up much faster since I've started using the above, so it definitely helps.
But keeping combos going as long as possible seems to remain the most important thing. Currently I'm trying to do that while also using the green totem to greatly enhance my Crystals' score and making combos easier. I'm back now to 7.8 million, which is the best I've managed in a while. I'm using the explosion gem now though (though I still like the clear certain color better) because I'm hoping to luck into clearing the whole board.
I'm so happy you can see how long other people on your leaderboard have played the game by the way.
Will be a while yet before I get the 100 hour played trophy though ... yikes.
Thanks for the information. I play it really casually lol, I don't even check the time. Will be more careful from now on. The leaderboard is nice but mine is kinda empty, only three people play the game.
And play for 100 hours trophy is ridiculous. I have been playing the game for months now and my total is about 12 hours. Probably it will take a year for me to get it.

Oh, lol, I was looking at those ACL screens on a different monitor from what I'm used to. So I didn't notice they were super blown up.
I need to get a $19.99 game this weekend. Choices include WipEout, HSG, Katamari, or Virtua Tennis. Need the Vitabro consensus.
HSG has a pretty big difficulty spike after a few hours IMO, so just a caveat if you're not familiar with the series. Regardless, fun game.

Carl, my brother, you are not alone. I have also never finished a Tomb Raider or a Crash Bandicoot game.
But the last Final Fantasy title I finished was VIII. Made it to the fourth disc of IX and made to the last boss of X, but never finished either.
SGE didn't even look that great, I thought, much less worth double the price
But oh man, you're giving me the Persona tingles again. So close :3
It's not worth it, but I can imagine some super fans really wanting it just cause it's Persona 4 related and now they miss out because someone wants to make a quick buck.

I sold my "Persona 4: Amazon Exclusive Social Expansion Pack" on eBay for around $200. Had no idea it'd go for that much when I started the auction at $0.01 in 2009.
I like all sorts of games. Only genres i don't like are RPGs and 2D fighting games (Tekken kind of stuff), i would say.
The stupid thing is, i have more PSOne games on my PS3 HDD than you could shake a stick at, but i don't think i've ever even booted any of them, haha
Waiting for them to take my money.
I bought that too! Not for $200 though, haha. I still wear the shirt occasionally, plus Teddie hangs out with my Raihou.
Yeah, i don't like it much either but if someone wants to pay..
But on the bright side - Persona 4! Almost here. Get excite, VitaGAF.
