I don't think it looks bad, it's just that:
- It's $50
- It's got the COD branding without many staple features/modes
- An Iphone game which costs 1/6th has more features and looks better

At $20 I'd probably buy it in a heartbeat just to have something good to play on the go, I really enjoyed MOH Heroes for what it. A competent, portable shooter.

What did you think of it?

Edit (this is for smart as..)

Semi distracting brain training clone. The thing that turned me off was the use of game mechanics. Eg there is a game where you have to make a word out of some letters they give you. But the letters are on a turntable which you have to spin to bring the desire letter around to the front before you can select it.

So it's less a test of your ability to make a word, and more a test of how well you can spin an object using the touch screen. Plus it's a bit flaky.

I found the letter recognition quite poor too. I tried to write 'T' about 4 times in a row, and every time it thought I was writing F.

Ugh, feeling the brunt of Vita's extravagant lifestyle. Getting really expensive. The memory card was just the beginning, unfortunately.

Don't know if I can afford it anymore: SfxT, the 999 sequel, and Persona 4. Too much money. But I want them. :(

So are various other electronic devices and those seem to have available memory for cheap.

That's not exactly true. We have three separate tiers for these devices, in order from good to awful:

1) user replaceable, standard storage format;
2) user replaceable, proprietary format;
3) non replaceable storage.

While it sucks that the Vita is 2 instead of 1, most devices are actually moving towards 3.

And while Sony gauges the price of the memory cards they do lose money on the Vita itself. I think it's worth looking at the total cost of the package if you're interested in getting one.

I'd rather have 3 if it came with like a 16GB default like the Go, but everyone has their own needs.

Only had mine for a few days, playing lots of Little King's Story and Dokuro, adore both. Dokuro is driving me up the wall from time to time though, that's for sure.

Not sure if there is a more suitable thread for this, but Game UK have some nice value Vita bundles right now. One that caught my eye was the wifi console with Little Big Planet, Uncharted GA and Fifa 13 for £230. Considering the quality of the games and the discrete cost of each component, that is an impressive offer.

In case anyone who wants a Vita checks this thread, GAME are doing a fantastic bundle at the moment (I know, I'm shocked too), it may even be a misprice to be honest:

WiFi Vita
4GB Memory Card
COD Black Ops Declassified (download voucher)
NFS Most Wanted
FIFA 13
Amazing Spider-Man (film)
COD Black Ops Carry pouch

£229.99 (preorder)

Three games and the WiFi for £230 is a steal, though it's out of stock now!

They also have a Liberation and GA bundle for £240

They also have a NFSMW, COD, Fifa 13 and Spiderman film for £230 here

The best I've seen on Amazon is Liberation or Fifa 13 for £199.

Holy fuck that's a good deal

I heard that FIFA 13 is literally a roster update, so unless you care about player lists being 100% accurate (will they even update it for the January window?) then FIFA 13 can only be worth as much as the early 2012 FIFA, which is peanuts at second hand value now. I'd avoid bundles with that in tbh,

Wow, that truly is an awesome deal. Get on it, people. :D

BTW, I don't know what some of you are smoking, but BOD looks great. Nihilistic nStigate really did a good job in improving the game since we last saw it. Like I said, the game will surprise a lot of nonbelievers.

When Vikings Attack is a game that I am excited for. Who else will be getting it?

Yup, quite looking forward to it! Enjoyed the PSBlog Post from the other day.

We also learn from blog answers that they didn't know of old PS1 game Poy Poy until well into development (But it's so similiar!), that the game is 1080p 60 FPS natively (So native res and still 60 FPS on Vita, I'd guess), and will have a demo available... but not at launch.

It just looks like a very solid game, especially with crossbuy and the 30% off PS+ Discount for US / Preorder for EU right out the gate.

They really got my attention when they revealed the Costume Design contest winners. That helped solidify it's personality to me, as any vids I saw before then just made it seem like a janky toss-about with a title that made no sense (I swear I didn't see any Vikings before then, and the whole PSA-style "What to do in case of a Viking attack!" angle didn't come though at all from random gameplay.)

Whoa thats a crazy deal.

lol i wonder if CoD and Spider-man would even fit on a 4gb card.

If it was the only game then I might agree, but it's also supposed to be a good game in it's own right. £230 for Fifa, NFS and COD is a great deal. And CEX are paying £21 for Fifa 13 Vita.

In addition, are sales like that in the US not given their own threads? I always seeing Target sales or Walmart sales threads when there are deals like that.

Apparently there were also some slight gameplay changes and also bug fixes. So if you didn't have the first one, which if you are buying a bundle chances are you didn't then I see no harm in getting the most up to date one. That's like saying don't buy a bundle with Uncharted 3 because you can get the first one really cheap and it's just a platformer in a different setting.

I picked up FIFA 13 for £25 and yes I know I could have gotten the orginal cheaper, but I wanted the most up to date so I took the plunge, at the end of the day £25 for a FIFA game is good, whether it's just an update of a roster or not, i didn't buy the first so I don't feel cheated at all.

Man, that's a cracking deal. A bundle with CoD, NFS & FIFA has to do well, surely!

Thesixthaxis reviews Streetfighter X tekken.. http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2012/11/05/street-fighter-x-tekken-review-vita/

Compared to the fully-fledged console version of Street Fighter X Tekken, the Vita port isn’t much of a step down. The system’s OLED screen perfectly caters for the game’s vibrant, cartoon-esque visuals which has been used to re-skin the entire Tekken cast. Backgrounds are also fairly appealing as is the upbeat soundtrack and voice acting which can be toggled for each character between English and Japanese.

X certainly has its merits but when all is said and done only it feels like a game that is specifically tuned towards series veterans or those who are invested in the online community.

6/10

oh, pretty sure it was top 10 though lol

how do you unlock games? just keep on doing the daily?

take the daily test .. every time you finish it you will unlock a new game..
and get three stars in a game it will unlock new difficulty. (you know this)

Im burning close to $400 only on games come Black Friday

$250 towards PS3, and close too $150 for the Vita... !!!!!!!!!!!!!

How are you guys getting COD DC for $35 though?

I found the letter recognition quite poor too. I tried to write 'T' about 4 times in a row, and every time it thought I was writing F.

It's not so bad. The uppercase T is the most unreliable one for me. Make sure that if you write capitals, you use as much of the space as possible, then it usually ends up right. Alternatively, just write a lowercase t ... You'll get used to it soon enough. Overall it's pretty good, I'd say, liking it so far. Path Finder is crazy hard though. I did get three stars for Easy eventually, but for other exercises that was almost always a matter of trying twice. Here I really had to work at it.

Re When Vikings Attack: hearing good things about that one on podcasts. When I saw it at GamesCom I wasn't convinced, but perhaps I didn't look hard enough (didn't try it myself)

I didn't get mine for 35 but for 39 via newegg 10$ off pre-order. I'm interested to know as well .. new place to get games for cheap?

Vita tax.

Same shit again .. IGN has not responded to my inquiries on the rating. How do you give the console game a 9.0 but dock points off the Vita version for not having a "good and balanced" fighting system? It's the same damn system .. I repeat .. the same damn system.

top of page: get AC:L and NFSMW ...

In this case it was not Vita tax - the original rating was wrong, on very many sites. The reviewers however failed to see the issues with the title back then, and so didn't rank the game down. Now they're doing that in retrospect. However, in that case, reviewers should have manned up and modified their original rating as well.
