Vita PSN Game And Service Thread

Did he make a typo?
Or does it say 2013 on the box as well?

There's no expiration date for what he's talking about listed. There's a bit regarding the codes that lists March 2013 & November 11, 2012 in regards to the free month codes being valid. Anyway there's no August 2013/12 listed anywhere in the packaging.

Also no, "while supplies last" anywhere.

I'm on the phone with a very nice guy right now. For future reference don't use their email support. Their phone service people are fantastic though.

I never actually got emailed about the free SSD after getting the FEB and activating the 3G. Kind of forgot about it since then but I suppose I'll give them a call to see what I can do.

This month's PSN charts actually give a bit of interesting insight into how Vita sales compare with PS3 sales.

All Retro City Rampage copies sold include both versions, and the Vita version is #1 while PS3 is #15.

SCEE just posted their PSN download charts for October.

Great to see Liberation at the top despite only one day of sales.

Most Wanted is a bit lower than i thought it would be though.

And Smart As isn't there at all...

For October? MW only came out in some places the 1st and the UK the 2nd, whereas AC released everywhere the 31st, so makes sense for it to have not sold as well.

It's not a typo.

Just confirmed that the purchase is registered in my list on SON website, but I still get a "buy now" button instead a download button on PSN store. This is very strange, I think I'll send an email to Sony support (or it's a waste of time?).

It's (at least partially) Capcom's fault, I believe -- it has to do with their buy Vita get a ton of DLC for cross-platform fuckup. When they fixed it on 10/26, I think, it fucked up the store and lots of people who reported buying the game digitally no longer see the "download option" and instead the store thinks they haven't bought it, even if it's in their download list/transaction history.

Alright so I get what's going on here. They can't help me because my vita shows no purchase date and they need a receipt.

Problem is the person I got it from received it by winning some sort of sony promotion and as such a receipt literally doesn't exist. =/ It shows no purchase date because it never was, sony basically just handed him the system with some download codes and said, "here you go!"

Finished VLR earlier. My first Platinum!

Astoundingly good game. If anyone was on the fence, I highly recommend it. Easily the best game on Vita at the moment, in my opinion.

Some vita game announcements have had comments that the dev is stupid to make a vita game or put a popular francise on vita while also giving vita shit because it does not have many games. A catch 22.

that's not a catch-22, just people being morons. also, those comments exist for every platform.

Is the trailer in the PSASBR gone gold announcement new? I'm amazed at how well done it is, these trailers are actually convincing me to give it a shot.

Vita version and PS3 version are counted as different versions, even if YOPO. Is not that the first Vita game is the 15 PS3 game.

How do you know that?

Also, how would they even discriminate between the two, you're technically buying both games anyway. If it's just which icon you happen to click on the PS Store, that could be awfully skewed.

Counting purchases on Vita Store vs. purchases on PS3 Store?

And purchases on PS3 store of the Vita version? Or purchases on PS3 store of the PS3 version with the primary intent to buy the Vita version? Just seems like an unnecessary distinction. When you buy one, you're buying both.

Also: completely off-topic, but I just saw Book of Spells in next week's flyers and am shocked it's $59.99

That sucks...

Also, I've started to dislike NFS: Most Wanted.

- I'm realizing that open world games don't work too well for racing games
It works perfectly well, it just has much more of a learning curve than non-open world racing games since it will be at its best after you start learning the city streets, so you can just look at the map once and then figure out what way to get there even without looking at the map too much.

- Cops chase you too easily and are annoying as fuck when you're just trying to get to a race
Didn't they improve on this by letting you choose all of the races from a menu? I thought they had changed this from Burnout Paradise, where you DID have to drive to all of the starting points of races.

- Because it's an open world game, the track you're supposed to follow isn't always clear. Makes me crash into walls and random pillars sometimes. This is also partially because I have to look at the map constantly.
Again, just keep at it. It'll get better once you memorize the city and know what kind of things you have to watch out for (a tight corner, a blind spot for on-coming traffic etc.). It was the same for me in Burnout Paradise. At first I didn't like it as much as Burnouts before it, but now that I've played it a lot more, it's my favorite Burnout.

You still have to drive there the first time, then you can actually just launch it.

So, why is it that Velocity and Mecho Wars are only licensed for three months on the Vita? I got them free with Plus, is it that they won't work until plus hits the vita? :\

Is that when your PS Plus subscription was set to expire when you downloaded them? You'll have to download them again to renew the license.

There seems to be no general Vita thread, so I have no idea where else to ask this:

Are there currently or will there be soon any excellent SRPGs or RPGs on the system?
