Vita PSN Game And Service Thread

Just played the first hour or so of Ys: Oath in Falgana on the Vita.

That game kicks so much ass. Music, gameplay, voice acting, etc. Plays well on the Vita too.

Looks like I am going to download a copy of P3P too and convert my save from the PSP to the Vita. Looks like I will need a 16GB card... Hopefully they will go on sale before the end of next week.

Don't kid yourself. You need a 32gb card.
Just suck it up and put what you'd spend on a 16 toward the 32gb.
You don't want to go through this again any time soon. :D

I think I will be good. I don't plan on buying any retail Vita games digitally. I don't even like buying the PSP games digitally.

I need some sense slapped into me, I'm starting to talk myself into COD. The gameplay videos seem better than I expected with a seemingly consistent framerate and a solid portable FPS would be awesome. But Nihilistic.

Sound Shapes... Is that considered must own on the Vita? Everyone pretty positive on it?

Buy Dokuro instead!

.....

It's a solid cross-buy / #YOPO, but I'd personally feel happier with either "When Vikings Attack" or "Dokuro", myself. If the musical selection and artwork call out to you though, you'd probably be pretty safe with Sound Shapes.

Depends on how much you enjoy music in games and games that play with musical cues AND how creative you consider yourself.

If you would like to dabble into creating some levels yourself, SoundShapes is easily the best choice to make atm (Sort of like Little Big Planet level creating I guess) as it is very responsive and very intuitive. If you only want the core experience, other games might give you more bang for your buck. I immensely enjoyed the experience, though.

The people who didnt properly try the creative tools might be torn on their stance regarding this game, but the ones that love creative tools like that probably all love it.

Just tried out the DJ Max Technika Tune demo on the HK PSN store. It's difficult! Even on normal difficulty, there's lots of notes everywhere, and sometimes more than one note to hit or hold at the same time. But the gameplay works well, and thankfully the rear touch pad is optional. Music is pretty good, if you're in to pop, dance, hip hop, etc.

I'm so jelly. :( I want to play this game so baaaaaad.

Is that when your PS Plus subscription was set to expire when you downloaded them? You'll have to download them again to renew the license.

That's the weird thing.. I think I did half a year? Bah, they're so cheap I wish I could just buy them and have them forever :\

Is there a guide anywhere for post 1.80 region/account switching? From my observations it seems like I need to

- Have 2 memory cards, one for each region/account
- Deactivate the vita for the current account while connected to PSN
- Format the vita (resets wallpaper/settings/icons)
- Insert other memory card, reactivate vita for new account

Is that it? Are there any limits on how many times I can switch/activate/deactivate a vita?

That's basically it. There is no limit to activating and deactivating on the system itself.

If you are planning on switching accounts back soon, or the Vita is your only Sony handheld, I'd say you don't even need to bother deactivating your main account.

Im pretty sure thats it right there. Do a backup beforehand just in case is what I did on top of that. Also remember you have to turn the vita off before taking out memory cards.

I'm so tempted to buy P3P but I'm going to resist so that P4G is my first Persona experience. Am I making the right choice?

I think P3P is perfectly fine for a second playthrough, but wouldn't recommend it for your 1st time. The presentation (or lack there of) really hurts it.
Purchased FES (numerous times over the years actually), P3P, and personally prefer FES

I've haven't played more than 4 hours of either version though =P

Basically waiting for P4G

Thanks. Does formatting the vita erase your saves though, or are those written to the memory card?

It depends on how much you're into the create/share aspects of games. As a game, Sound Shapes hit a lot of highs for me, but I felt it was over far too quickly. I kinda regretted not waiting for a sale afterwards.

I just made a video about how the functionality of that scrolling trick on the homescreens extend beyond the homescreens. Of course, maybe some of you already know this, but I still thought it was really cool and noticed it on accident.

good thing you cleared the browser before you made this video..

(I knew of this "trick".. use it with the internet browser every day..)

The backtouch option is the best feature this version has, some songs on the hardest setting (club mixing) would be almost impossible to me without it, believe me, too much notes at once for the vita´s screen size, the game could be a clusterfuck using just one screen and two hands on it.

speaking of persona, how is p2 on the psp/vita?

Mostly fantastic. The story is the best in the series, and it has some pretty neat bosses. Combat becomes a chore, but you can turn on animation skip so it just blasts through it.

The redone soundtrack is really good too. Much better than Eternal Punishment's.

How do you hold the Vita? I was playing the game by setting the Vita down and using my index/middle fingers on the screen. I don't know how to dedicate fingers to the back touch pad in a way that works.

Have they announced any plans for a 64GB memory card? I need to upgrade soon but if they have I might wait and see what the price is like compared to the 32GB. It'll probably be ridiculously expensive I guess.
