Is the 3G Vita locked on a mobile phone provider ? Like if I buy a PS Vita with a Vodafone sim card, will I be able to use another one ?

Also, PS Vita 3G Wifi + Little Big Planet + 4Gb memory card for 225€, should I buy or not ?

Music Unlimited for £1 a month is quite a fucking awesome deal!

Especially as I can use it on my Vita, PS3, Sensation, Touchpad, PC, TV (Yes I have a Sony TV)...

Edit: Don't forget to use the free 60 day trial, cancel that sub and then buy the year if you're doing it, so you effectively get 14 months for 12.

Has anyone tried getting the £12 Music Unlimited deal while in the 60 day trial?

I have both options showing up right now, so I'm wondering whether I can technically use both to get 14 months for £12, or whether the pay option will disappear if I activate the trial.

^ Congrats man! Welcome to the brotherhood. :)

Backup complete, now I just need to re-friend request everyone.

I can try it after lunch if you're concerned about it

Man I love how 'speedy' everything feels with the Vita atm. No idea if it's the new update, but everything just seems to fly!
(Mostly navigation + general smoothness)

has anyone tried adding a pop mail account? I wonder if there is an option to leave messages on the server (very important for me)

I just done exactly that, activated the trial then added the year after that. You still have to deactivate auto renewals on the 60 days otherwise it was set to charge £9.99 after 2 months.

Thanks for the confirmation and thanks for the offer Monosukoi! Will do this when I get home from work then, 14 months for less than £1 a month is a great deal.

You can set the wholesale price to free. It is just up to Sony how much they are going to charge. (hint it will probably still be free)

I don't think so. From the FAQs:

Can I develop free games and applications?
Published 08/08/2012 10:53 PM | Updated 11/19/2012 05:56 AM
Games and applications distributed through the PlayStation®Store will be limited to paid (including freemium) content for the moment.

They are very specific about it and they just updated this rule on the 19th.

So two part post.
First is how awesome the Wi-Fi CMA is. After pairing I can send screenshots to my PC in seconds! (Via copy in the gallery app).

Second, here's some screens of t@g and my garden

Despite all the negativity, I decided to get myself a Vita (found a pretty good deal here in Ireland). Loving it so far, Uncharted is amazing, second analoge stick makes a world of difference.

Small question though, my PSN account is from the UK region - if I buy a Vita game digitally via my PS3 using my Irish PSN and then transfer it to my UK region Vita, will the content still work? Really want to get Virtue's Last Reward, but not sure if my local shops will stock it. Thanks!

If the Wii-U threads were anything to go by, the Vita would be selling like hotcakes. It's astonishing how many people suddenly want console style games in a (semi) portable format!
Console quality i can take with me in the house anytime. (Wiiu=awesome) (Vita= market dead, need more bite size) = head explodes popcorn flies everywhere.
Some GAF fanbases have no problem being hypocrites or having double standards about certain things... ultimately only choosing to like them when it's deemed to be "cool" or socially accepted by the masses (via Sales Age success and/or a positive critical reception on Metacritic from the army of PR shills posing as game reviewers).

Hence why console gaming while on the shitter is now the best thing since sliced bread. Even though most of us were doing just that in February while playing Uncharted: Golden Abyss for the first time.

Nope.

Amazon UK say VLR is out 23rd November - is that just a display date or what?

No problemo! Glad you got your answer, kinda tempted myself :3

Persona 4 still hasn't shipped because BestBuy Canada notes it as being sold out. Bummer.

As for PSN IDs: Add (in quote) especially if you plan on getting Sonic & All-Stars Racings:

Aw man, that's a shame... Odd, though, because when I buy DLC and games digitally for through my Irish PSN they work perfectly with my UK account (on PS3). Oh well.

As for Virtue's Last Reward, yeah, I was the impression that it comes out on the 23rd... May have to order it off Amazon then

Bums me out too. I'm right now going through the unenviable process of figuring out save data and soforth just so I can switch to an account with the username I want

Talking of which, if you're someone who has me added on PSN - expect a message soon, sorry for the inconvenience D:

But the vita has no gamez...

Anyways the brother hood of the vitabros are over. Now we got vitalatchers

So uh, does anyone know if Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath next week is crossbuy? I'd love to play it again on Vita, but buying it a second time, I don't know.
I'm a cheapskate, I know :P

Also, i'm interested in Ragnarok. How's that game?

I doubt it,

I thought it will be $20 but then i saw its 15 for psn version, so it better be 15 for vita.

Found it, it's a no.

To the question “will there be Cross Save support between PS3 and Vita”, they answered a firm “no.” The reason being that there is a 1MB limitation to Cross Save data files and the truth is that their save files are 3-5MB. They continued by saying they fully tried to make it work, but it was just not possible to reduce the save file to 1MB from 5MB.

Of course there are still people interested to know if Stranger’s Wrath on Vita will be free to people who purchased it on PS3. Just Add Water answered such a question today on their Twitter account saying “you will have to buy it again. We’re a small company and can’t really afford to give stuff away, sorry.”
http://www.psnstores.com/2012/09/just-add-water-says-no-cross-save-for-strangers-wrath/

Ah well, JustAdd Water is great and deserve's more of mah moolah, but i'll probably wait for Munch's Oddysee to get my Vita's Odd on :P

There's a demo that will give you some idea how it controls. It's a fun game, but it's also not for everyone. If you need a steady stream of unlockable, slightly better than the last unlocked equipment/outfits (ala MH) to justify going out into the field, you will probably be disappointed.

A quick writeup I did over in the Ragnarok thread (and I think in this thread somewhere).

Pros
- Challenging
- Skill based progression similar to Monster Hunter
- Online multiplayer
- Loot is [usually] rewarding, typically in the form of cards

Cons
- Camera can be a bit wonky at times
- Challenge can become a bit much at times, sometimes to the point of feeling unfair (multiple enemies stun-locking you to death)
- Online can get quite laggy at times
- Loot and crafting progression is incredibly slow

So OK, the game is a LOT of fun. If you're a fan of Monster Hunter or Gods Eater Burst, you'll likely enjoy this game. Controls feel more similar to GEB than MH, fyi. The way you customize your character (stat/skill wise) is through cards. They have abilities like Atk Lv1 or Fast Recover or Poison Resist. You combine these cards in your armor to provide a slew of boosts (or "debuffs"/tradeoffs that some cards can have).

You also find and craft weapons that have skills on them. Ideally, finding a weapon that gives you two strong positive stat or trait boosts is what you want to hunt down.

The major issues of this game revolve around the loot progression, though. The camera can be a bit off, but that's manageable (not excusable, but it's something that you can at least figure out in time). The massive enemy groups becomes a bit ludicrous at times (Kill 100 Fire Giants in 30 minutes GO!), and the fact that many of these enemies will take you down in only a few hits, AND the fact that many can stun-lock you...Well, it's rough. More frustrating than game breaking, though.

But crafting and loot progression...Getting a good weapon to drop seems like a rare occurrence. In the 20 hours I've played, I've had one weapon drop that I could legitimately use. I'm not saying I haven't SEEN other Bows, but they've typically had mediocre bonuses or lower attack than my bow.

You also get materials and cards. Materials come from enemies and environment barrels and boxes. You can also break boss monster parts for their horns, gauntlets, tail fur, etc. The REAL problem with crafting is that you only get new recipes as you progress through the story. This presents you with a stale progression that's not limited by your hunting and gathering but by the difficulty of the mission you're currently on. If you get stuck (which you will), it's not a matter of saying, "Well I guess I'll go grind some materials for that armor I want." Monster Hunter crafting blows this game's system out of the water.

I'm a bit tired this morning, so I apologize for this little writeup being all over the place. The two most important things about what I've said:

1) Skill based progression similar to Monster Hunter and Gods Eater Burst (and similar controls, too)

2) Loot and crafting stagnates quickly and isn't as rewarding as other similar titles

That being said, it's definitely worth $40.

Doing a full system backup via wifi

This could take a while.

I'll see you next week

I totally get why people would want to do that, but I've always just uploaded them to a separate folder on Flickr using the app. That app just needs the ability to select more than one image at a time to upload (you cna upload many, but only select one at a time!) and the ability to default to a specific Set.

PSN really needs to give us the ability to stick labels on friends so that we can associate PSN user names with GAF handles.

I am good enough to include my GAF ID in the details for my PSN ID if that helps :)

EDIT:

It also seems like an odd decision from Sony to limit Cross Play saves to 1MB. More so when you see something like LBP is for some people over 100mb in size! I get putting a limit on it but 1MB just seems overly restrictive.

To be fair, though, the bow you start with is actually pretty good for a starting weapon, and also quests take far longer for hunters anyway, so it will take you longer to get to the point where you're finding bows that are nicer than that weapon.

Yeah i use flickr too. Great app, works really well.

I was referring to a more "in general" sense. The bow was my example since the Hunter is pretty weak overall, haha. But yeah, relatively speaking, the weapon isn't terrible...But that doesn't disprove the fact that loot and any sort of gear progression is pretty damn slow in the game. :P

30 days trial probably. it's pretty neat, I can make playlist and made them available offline, when it finish download the song on vita, I can change to web browser and the song will still be playing.
It doesn't give me the option to subscribe though, it says I already have a plan. :s

Note to self: check auto-renewal for MU subscription later.

There's no demo on the Dutch Store, i'm afraid.

Thanks for the impression nicoga3000 (& co. :P), very helpfull!
Will probably buy it when the price drops but for now, i'll pass. I love RPG's and loot, but i'm not into the whole 'frustraing' aspect.

Just preordered PSASBR on PS3 PSN. Got 7GB to download before Friday... Yeah that's not gonna happen

seriously?? why does psn vary so much for people? that's so lame. or is it your internet connection? i get about 2-4 MB/s download on average with psn, and it most definitely is not maxing out my internet connection.

It's his connection I think.

And downloads on my Vita are always fast, the PS3 can be fast or dog slow. PS3 is wired, Vita is Wireless N.
