Ugh - after finally defeating
Alias
, I remembered why I keep finding it so hard to pound through Gravity Rush. Fun game, but combat controls are sort of fucking awful...

For those of you with PS+ who just downloaded wipeout and found long-loading times, they released lots of updates to improve it..are you sure it's updated?

It's very fun and looks/plays great, nice graphics, good loading times. Few technical issues I've run into: various crash causing bugs like 3 times (separate from the initial loop bug everyone gets). A rare loading area bug...

Expect to crash a few times :P I had a weird level glitch happen....I really wanted to win the race...and jumped into a new area too fast or something.

Lastly there is noticeable popup (textures), not always obvious..but sometimes really obvious - doesn't happen with cars or people but environment.

Gotta say, having shitloads of fun with it though and as much as I was impressed by Uncharted (thanks PS+), which I will get back to..it's hard to get away from JSR despite restarting the app for the 4th or 5th time !

Uncharted is fantastic, loving almost everything about it and got into it right off the bat and played for like 10 chapters with barely any sleep.

The game also has the hardest tutorial in recent memory. I tried hours to get that 50 trick objective.

I'm actually surprised. Native res with all those enemies on-screen? Does the framerate hold up well?

Well, in the level I played so far, it was steady. No dips or jankyness, which is nice. I'd say it held right around 30FPS. Seems like it could be 60FPS in the main chamber (level select area), but that doesn't really mean much :p

Impressive. I hope a western release isn't far off.

Hmm I think I actually skipped the tutorial everytime I've played it. Trying atm.

Anyway for the 50 tricks....I seem to remember someone mentioning to find a loop in the level that you can keep grinding on continuously...although might be wrong...
It's stuck on "don't bump into anything while free-skating" for me :S

On my vita If my wallet is empty and I purchase something from the store (AUS) it adds the exact amount of the purchase.

When I'm on the ps3 it doesn't , it just adds say $10 if something cost $3.75 for eg.

I don't know why it does that.

I thought PayPal was added as a payment option, can't seem to find it. Maybe it's a US thing.

I don't think it is stuck, it just takes a while. I remember just moving about aimlessly for quite a bit before it is activated.

I am stunned at how awesome Sine Mora is so far. Its just super-interesting.

Okay, played more Malicious Rebirth. Some of the more graphically intense levels can get bogged down when tens of enemies rush you all while the boss does some kind of super attack. It wasn't the worst thing ever, but there definitely is slowdown in some levels when things go haywire. Still a lot of fun, such a crazy game.

I second this. Xseed, make it happen.

I don't think you'll need to bug XSEED. Malicious was the first game since like the PS1 where SCEA published a Japanese game that SCE didn't have any direct involvement in. I suspect the same will be the case for Rebirth. Hopefully it just doesn't take 2 years again ...

Might have to pick up a memory card and switch accounts for this

It's the same on the PS3. There's a minimum transaction amount for all transactions on the PSN (it's $5 USD in the US). If you purchase something below $5, it'll ask you to add the full $5 to your wallet (seems like it's $10 AUD in your case). If your transaction totals to more than $5, it'll let you pay the exact amount. They do this to minimize the credit card transaction fees they have to pay for every transaction.

As for PayPal, it's only available in some SCEE territories via the SEN website. Login here and see if it's available to you as a payment option.

Is it pretty much the same as the ps3 game? I bought that one, played it for 10 minutes and quit. I didn't really get it.

Played the Sine Mora Demo for the first time on the train to work this morning. Game looks great and I enjoyed what I played. I got an E though. Nice to see my grades haven't changed since college lol.

Will be playing that one a little more to be sure.

Also played the A-Men demo again for the first time since Launch week. There was a patch that changed a few bits apparently. Still didn't click with me enough and I think having an extra playable level or two might have helped.

Playing Sonic All-Stars on PS3 has me worried on the Vita Port.
When it goes into 'boat' mode, it felt like the FPS took a HUGE dump, I really hope they pull out a miracle with the port.

I needs mah kart racer.

Just switched my Vita back to US PSN (so, no Project DIVA f for a while unless I want to start a new save...) and got Sony to send me my $50 and 1 yr PSN+ codes for signing up for their credit card. With the $20 back for spending $100 last month I'll have $70 to spend on things I don't already get for free.

... in the morning, because I'm not sure why I'm still up at 4 AM.

For any Vitacats with no backgrounds yet, why not?

Here is the thread with a shit ton of backgrounds, mine are by magicaltrevor in this post.

I need to make a second Demos screen with a different background. All the other apps and stuff are on two screens with just plain backgrounds.

Also, two of my favourite lock screens.

I'm loving the gameplay but I think I would like it more if they didn't try to make it "adult". I think the story and swearing actually detracts from the game.

It's actually kinda annoying there's no serious hint of this in the gameplay in the demo (of course, the ESRB rating exist). It's like they don't want you to know or something... all the demo sets up is some fairly interesting intro-style dialog that could be had in just about any T rated game... "Mature for the sake of Mature" games never mesh with me well, but at least you can turn off the text and ignore the story, if it gets too annoying here. Kinda off to have to worry about "Strong Language" in a classic style game like this...

I still kinda wanna pick it up, but I can't even fit freebie Uncharted onto my memory card, no sales on the cards on Black Friday, and I've purchased loads of games recently... it can wait a little while, and I still might choose to get Under Defeat HD instead, first...

Definitely looks good, though, and it's nice it's finally down to 10 bucks. I wish they'd show the 360 version some kinda love too (patch in an extra ship, along with a price drop, maybe?), since people who bought it there did play 5 dollars more, for a not-as-"definitive" version of the game...

I had a weird issue with my Vita last night. My memory card shows as 5gb free in content manager and yet only 2gb free on the Vita itself. At one point it was showing 0kb free and I couldn't delete any content on the Vita, I had to do it through Content Manager. I'm sure it'll sort itself out with a backup / formatt / restore, I just found it odd.

On the plus side, Sine Mora and JSR are both great.

Yeah, I found that a bit odd. Still, I fast-forward all the story bits anyway.

For any Vitacats with no backgrounds yet, why not?

Because they take up too much of the screen with unusable areas for bubbles with no real benefit. Only custom screen I have is Zero the 3rd on my lockscreen from the intro to Virtue's Last Reward. It's funny because the watermark that VLR puts on the screenshot (PS to game devs: HORRIBLE IDEA) lines up perfectly with the pull-down bit.

As soon as I am finished with current deadlines, i am going to make a bunch of backgrounds myself.

It is heaven/hell for a tinkerer like myself

This is a very good news for future PhyreEngine games on Vita. (Malicious Rebirth is the first PhyreEngine game on Vita, Atelier Totori+ will be the 2nd )

I like the way that the fast forward was implemented
Game is damn gorgeous

Tried Guacamelee and Snapshot at Target.
Wasn't too enthused by either but Snapshot felt especially slow and janky.

You're the 2nd person not being that impressed with Guacamelee. Can you elaborate a bit on why? Mutant Blobs was awesome so i'd expect great things from this developer.

As for Snapshot, do you mean slow and janky technically or gameplay wise?

I was looking forward to both games on my Vita.

Anyone got any opinions on these PSone classics?

Legend of Mana
Threads of Fate
Alundra
N20
Wipeout
Vagrant Story
Klonoa
Medievil

(I don't want to buy Chrono Trigger / Cross because I know I'll get addicted to them)

EDIT: will probably repost this in 3 posts since I'm near the bottom of the page :(

Klonoa, Alundra, and Vagrant Story should be your priority

I think Klonoa is the most portable friendly out of those since you can play in short session due to the nature of levels, Alundra and Vagrant Story, you can get lost and forgot where you supposed to go if you leave it for some time. still haven't beaten both because got distracted by other games and when I want to go back to them, I totally forgot where I'm supposed to go

No, but it's been said before that Uncharted was the best selling game.

Maybe that was only for launch(?) but even if it was, the point still stands. People clearly don't mind paying $50 for a Vita game

Well, according to that it is the best selling game with ~780k units sold

Just got a job interview at a local game store by saying I'm active on neogaf and when asked what console id recommend I said vita, he was impressed.

Thank you GAF

Amazon has a student deal where you can get a Madden bundle Vita for 250 with LBP vita and a 4gb memory card for free.

But I'm trying to go digital, so I'm not sure.
