Vita PSN Game And Service Thread

yeah Alundra is freaking amazing(best Zelda game ever..yes even better than alttp and it's not piss easy too)it look amazingly good on Vita screen.

I bought Ridge Racer and i'm disapointed - racing is ok but the game has virtually nothing to keep you interested - it's just like they are throwing a bunch of cars tracks and some upgrades to buy in garage for you - making car games without career mode should be prohibited.

Namco should've just ported RR7 on Vita imho.

Why would you buy a system that you feel doesn't have enough games and it also has a questionable future in sight? I at least have a 17 game list of stuff out right now that I want to play and that's not including all the stuff they gave away for PS+ and Assassin's Creed. I felt like that was more than enough to make the jump even with the bleak future ahead.
Persona 4 Golden justifies buying a vita for me, so I did !

I hope the console will have some kind of kickstart and games will come. Hell, I don't even want NDS level of releases quantity-wise, just having something like the PSP would satisfy me.

Thanks for the links, I'll go check them out !

it seems all of the banned guys that day are back.

Man it really sucked even if it was 1 week lol

Don't even get me started on that. I felt like it was a really weak ban especially as I saw others doing what I was nailed for in other threads throughout the week and seemingly go unscathed.

Hmm any opinions on Mod Nation racers ? I know it's bad but that 6 euro price tag is kinda tempting.

PS. My copy of Zero Escape still didn't ship from amazon.uk.

Modnation isn't supposed to be great.

Do you have Ridge Racer type 4 from the PSN store?

Yeah, got the same impression. There was some heavy trolling that week, and I didn't see many people trolling Vita getting banned.
Nice you are back though!

Cmon Sony you promised.

I was mainly talking about Wii U and how it was basically open season to chastise what people considered a dumb thread, seeing as how there were so damn many this last week. But all I said was "this is kind of ridiculous" to a thread that was seriously asking if PS4 could be cancelled and I got thrown into the wood chipper.

But yeah that's in the past and I guess I should just move on. I got a Vita hopefully coming sometime next week and 5 full games to play through already (PS+ stuff, AC:L and the free Motorstorm game given out months ago). It should hold me out until christmas when I can start filling out the library a bit more, in which case I'm not sure what I'll go with first. Right now I'm leaning towards either Persona 4 or Virtue's Last Reward if I can't get both at once.

Ended up buying ModNation at the 20% off price. It's not that bad, framerate can be a little sluggish at times but it plays fine and it's pretty enjoyable.

Played 999 or P4 PS2?

Its hard not to recommend P4 every time someone asks because it has so much content, but if you already played 999, you might be more in the mood for the sequel. Tough call really.

Cmon Sony you promised.

Assuming you are meaning DLNA support? Yep that's something that I am waiting for and actually didn't realise wasn't there out of the box. Was kinda disappointed after seeing it at the presentations and not having in the final product.

Regarding Modnation Racers, I'm kinda enjoying it, it will serve well till the bring LBP Karting over I guess :)

I need to stop buying vita games when I havent finished the ones i have. I've still got AC3:L, NFS:MW, VLR and today P4G came. I also want to get PS Allstars tomorrow, my backlog is just increasing at this point lol.

Recommendation time! (for people who will get PSVita/thinking about buying Vita in BF deals)

Must Buy games
-Persona 4 Golden Best JRPG of the PS2,amazing 120+ of pure awesome gameplay,a game everyone need.
-Gravity Rush Unique gravity experience with Ghibli's soul.
-Virtua Tennis 4 . The Perfect port, 4xAA,60fps+native res of pure awesome.
-Rayman Origins. Best 2D plartformer of the generation now on Vita with 60fps+native res
-Assassins Creed III Liberation,Full AC experience on handheld, with new ideas and amazing setting and Aveline as pure badass and no First Civilization and Desmond crap AC3:L is the best AC3 and the one to buy.
-Need For Speed Most Wanted sure the handling might not be good for some of Burnout Paradise fans but it's still a very good open world racing experience.
-Metal Gear Solid HD Collection This is how good Kojima used to be before he completely lost it with MGS4 and MGSPW crap.
-Ninja Gaiden Sigma+ NG still has the best combat system in action game, very solid port of the PS3 sigma version.
(solid 30fps, native res,run and play like a boss)
-Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward Amazing story and puzzels and the game look great.
-Mutant Blobs Attack. Just a brilliant game with amazing level design.

I watched a youtube playthrough of 999 and all of its endings on Kagari's recommendation so I'm caught up with the necessary story stuff. Even if it kind of lost me when all of the...uhh, weird stuff started happening.

Persona 4 I got on PS2 when it came out but I never played it for whatever reason, I'm guessing because I had mostly moved on to 360 back then. But for some reason the non typical JRPG stuff like the life and school stuff always looked cool to me so I'm very willing to try it out.

I'd say go with P4 then for the time being, fantastic game and you aren't that invested in the gameplay of the zero escape games, so you don't know yet how much you'll enjoy it. That on top of you possibly being on a tight Vita budget with P4 being 100+ hours long and VLR being 30 hours long.

VLR is still a great game, though!

Is Elminage any good? I can't find any opinions on it.

Also VLR is my favorite game on Vita.

<------ IF YOU COULDN'T TELL PLEASE LOOK OVER THERE

Type this into google because I can't link on the iPad:
"elminage site:neogaf.com"

There was a recent PSN rerelease thread. I am very interested in it, but this weeks releases already bled me out.

Totobeni hates Peace Walker?

I'm afraid I'm going to have to toss him into the bad opinions space too, haha.
Peace Walker was amaaaaaaaazing. I wish they released the HD version for Vita as well.

And don't forget about Persona 3 Portable, Tactics Ogre, Jean d'arc, God Eater Burst for people who missed PSP ;p
How could you forget to list No Heroes Allowed?
I forgive you,though.

And people usually don't list PSP/ PS1 recommendations when it's about giving an initial Vita recommendations list, as most people want some "proper" Vita games at first. Not like the Vita library needs to hide itself either.

hey I am going to trumpet my recommendations too!

WipEout 2047 - im a long time fan and this is one of the best wipeouts yet! must have if you like anti grav racing

Where is my Heart - very cute and fun platform puzzler - a bit of lost vikings style.

Uncharted - nicely done 3rd person shooter with some nice, first gen vita game touch gimmeckery.

VLR is still a great game, though!

I dunno I do like puzzle/adventure games a bit so that part does intrigue me as well. I'm just hoping I don't have to make a choice because I want both pretty much the same. It's literally a coin toss at this point.

Throw me there too I guess because it's the worst major MGS game I've played, even more than 4. And I only consider it a major game because Kojima insisted it was MGS 5 even though if I judge it on my own standards it's easily not up to the same MGS standards as 1-4 are.

Well you don't have to buy it now, just, y'know. Get it. Whenever you can.

Cant wait to check it out to be honest. I wish that sale was this week, ah well. Hoping it will be the next week deal at least.

Certainly not forgetting about it!

probably been answered alfeady but is P4G native res?

Bizarrely it's not. It's almost native res, but not quite there. Atlus has said they'd like to make an original title for Vita, hopefully if they ever get the chance that'll be native res.

thanks, i'm sure it looks great nonetheless.

Interesting. I'd not seen this up until now.

Interested to know if he means the actual Persona team or the B team. Inclined to think the latter. Still, I'd be happy to see more games from them.

Which released games are from the A and which from the B team?

psasbr looks amazing on vita. i can't wait to see what the second wave of vita games will bring. some of the multiplatform games are noticeably weaker on the vita (not that it makes them bad games), but this one really does feel like you are playing the exact same game as you are on ps3.

<3 my vita.

So polygon is saying that amazon AC vita deal is going to be $180 instead of $200, come with playstation all stars (vita version), a 1 month PS+ card, and a $10 off coupon for AC3 for 360/ps3.

Holy shit if true.

That's because it gets lumped in with HD consoles, rather than dedicated handhelds. If we saw more multi-plats between 3DS and Vita, the perception would be very different. Look at Rayman Origins, for instance.

Holy crap. Where is that dude who was debating not opening his console to possibly wait for the Amazon deal? Yikes.

Thats US only, right?

Got bored today while on a conference call, so made these:

Put a quote tag around them please :)

The main team made Persona 3, FES, 4 and Catherine. Portable still had heavy contributions from Soejima and Meguro, but didn't have Hashino directing. Arena had barely any involvement from the Persona team. Different director, different artists, different composer (Although he was at least from the B team). Golden is somewhere in between the two. Most of the new songs were by the same composer as Arena, but the small amount of new art was at least by Soejima.

The P1 and P2 remakes were directed by Meguro. Soejima contributed art to P2: IS, but not P1 and not P2:EP. The new art in P2: EP was Doi, and I dunno who did the new art for P1.

I think at some point they'll put the B team on their own game (Persona 4-2, maybe?). I seem to think Hashino said they want to put out more games, and Persona is their most lucrative brand, so...

Ah, interesting. Thanks for writing that up. Doesnt sound like the "B" team is much of a "bad" moniker then.
