Hey, another advantage of having a dedicated Vita account!

(I know that its too late for you and others to change now)

Yeah but there are disadvantages to that too (no cross buy).

Hey guys, did you check out the PSBlog post on Labrynth Legends?

Looks like a good game, and the sort of thing that would be decent on Vita. Creat said if they get enough requests then they will look into it - show your support here http://www.facebook.com/CreatStudios/posts/10151352298966514 or tweet then @CreatStudios

Another one is 2 PS+ subs... I dont care for the PS3 sub atm so I dont care. And that it is annoying me a bit that the PS1 games I already on on my PS3 account cant be access now :/

Ah well, still saving quite a lot of money through the dedicated Vita (US) account, so whatever.

obviously you will just have to play gravity rush and mutant blobs until friday :P

My 16 gig card (I'll wait on another deal for the 32) arrives with MK. Meanwhile I'll be swapping games to-and-from the 4 gig.

This thing is nicer than I remember. My only experience until now was playing for 2 minutes at a Best Buy kiosk. I didn't think I'd like a white one and only jumped on it because of the price but I definitely prefer the color now that I see it in person.

Oh speaking of this, I've never even picked a Vita up. I've seen them, glanced them from a distance, but never picked it up. First time I'm going to be playing with a handheld that I haven't extensively demo'd beforehand.

the main reason I said those two games is together they are only 1.5 gigs meaning you have room for other stuff even on a 4gb lol.

I'm slowly working on getting a library of vita games on my PC, I'm gonna make PS+ and a 4gb work somehow until the prices of memory cards drops to a price I wouldn't mind paying for.

Is there a place I can DL and print jacket scans? I almost bought a used copy of Dynasty Warriors Next this weekend, but it was in a generic case. NOT ON MY SHELF!

If this is not allowed, let me know and I'll delete my post.

I am honestly surprised so many people like the feature. Having the PS3 running in the background while playing Vita seems a bit of a.. waste to me.

I disagree, especially since I now have a Wii U which does just that although it's build to stream nearly instantly. It's really nice to have the option of not being constrained to the TV screen if one wish so (it's also an advantage if you have a family or need to share the TV time). It would be especially nice if it were properly integrated with the VITA since it's got a better battery life than the Wii U gamepad, dat OLED and you have much more range. The streaming quality is mediocre, but it's one thing Sony could improve on for the next Playstation (which would lessen the appeal of the WiiU).

Really the only complaint I have so far is something almost all handhelds have which is the empty space where your ring and pinky fingers have nothing to hold onto. Not such a big deal though and the quality of the buttons and device itself feels much better comparatively to when I first got an original PSP at launch (with the Square button and "analog stick" on that thing being the biggest offenders).

Good point, ha ha.

Alternatively, if you're a twitterer and want Labrynth Legends on Vita, retweet and reply to this https://twitter.com/CreatStudios/status/273494613640224768

Yeah, and? Still got to have the PS3 running in the house somewhere while you actually play on another device :P

Not saying people shouldnt like it :) Just saying it seems weird to me.

Do you live with a significant other or by yourself?
If the former, you must have a SO that gives you enough space to game or doesn't care what you're doing while he/she is hanging out with you. And then you should probably count yourself very lucky.

The draw of remote play is the same draw that Wii U markets with the "hey, someone wants to watch the TV you were gaming on? no problem, just use the gamepad screen". :P

I do believe Remote Play as we know it will be retired in favor of Gaikai based technology to locally stream games to the Vita (just a guess).

Playing PS3 and potentially PS4 games away from the television is an extremely interesting proposition. It is what I find most interesting about the Wii U.

I would hope that they do not just forget about remote play. Gaikai is great for those on decent connections but there are still many who do not have one good enough. Being able to play U4 or GOW78 or whatever on my Vita via the PS4rbis while the wife is watching the TV would be great.

So long as it is an OS feature it would be really useful and Devs wouldn't have to support it like they do on the PS3. They headed in this direction with the Vita with the Screenshot function, custom soundtracks, etc. Devs would need to disable them rather than work out what they can sacrifice from the game side of the system to get it to work.

i know this is supposed to be the "OT" vita thread, but is there a thread that has links for all NewVitaGafBros? i have a feeling that without proper information i'm going to be overlooking 1/2 the things i can do and confused about the other 1/2 of the things i can do.

Ask away. It might not be ideal but I do try and read every post in whichever is the most active Vita thread and I'll answer if I can, as will others. Some kind of FAQ might be handy but I think every PS+ FAQ has had "do I lose the games when they rotate" question yet it still gets asked every day suggesting people ona whole don't read the OP as much as they just go to the last post and ask their question.

For now, us NewVitaBros will just have to keep spamming you guys with obvious and dumb questions.

No problem, unless it's the one about where babies come from.

As others said, having the console running under the TV while the wife or kids watch something else and you can enjoy your game at the same time is an excellent idea. I just find it incredible that Sony have had it available for so long and done nothing with it. Nintendo will be the ones that the masses think did it first because of the WiiU.

Even if 3rd parties wanted nothing to do with it, they should have sat down with SSM, Naughty Dog, etc and worked out the best way of doing it and got it in every 1st party game going.

How does it work on the WiiU? Dev supported or OS based?

We dont watch TV :) We watch movies/series on DVD/Bluray quite often, but we do that together naturally.

I definitely see now why others like it though. Thanks for all the answers guys! :)

my wife usually just games while I game... we have 2 tvs each loaded with gaming consoles lol.

that being said my wife is still quite interested in the tokyo jungle remote play as she likes the idea of being able to hang out with me while she plays it.

The browser update is very useful. I got stuck on the desert level in patapon, and just popped out to the browser to look up a solution, then back into the game.

At some point they updated the Vita's media playback capability to make it not suck. I decided to throw 2 random mp4s on there, expecting to get an error for each. Much to my surprise (and joy), they both played flawlessly and auto-scaled correctly. One had subs, no problem.

Originally getting the formatting and re-sizing right made it such a pain in the ass that it wasn't worth it for me, but this.........this is nice.

So Uncharted is currently free with PS+. Is that ever going to go away? Just wondering if maybe I should play that first instead....

If you "bought" it for free or even downloaded it once, you can dl whenever you want again, even when its not on the Instant Game Collection anymore.

so.... i'm going away for 2 weeks in dec... is it worth starting my 3 moths of PS+? should i wait till mid dec? or can i start it and then halt it for 2 weeks and start it again?

I meant to ask this question in this thread but mistakenly posted in the PSOne thread... oops.

me said:
what is the best Diablo clone on PSP/Vita? I downloaded a demo of Dungeon Hunter Alliance but don't like it that much... anything better?

edit:

Ah shit, this was meant to be top of next page. Failure. Anyway, don't forget to retweet this if you want a cool dungeon crawler on Vita https://twitter.com/CreatStudios/status/273494613640224768

spooky timing
