How many chapters are there in Gravity Rush (just main quest stuff)? Trying to play a chapter per day, but want to try and make it last until the next game hits on PS+

Will get the DLC bits later down the line.

Thanks. I'm at 7 now, so should take me another two weeks to get through. Is a wonderful game by the way. I was a little unsure at the start, as I couldn't get used to the mechanic, but when it clicked... Oh my!

How do you get custom soundtracks working on the Vita? I started some music using the player, then exited the player, and the music kept playing in the background. I thought all you had to do was start a game up then, but when I do, it pauses the music playback. Have I done something incorrectly?

edit: the game I tried to start was Pinball Arcade - I just read that not all games support custom music...perhaps this is one?

So, is there anyway to send Near stuff to people on your PSN list? Because I haven't found a way to do that outside of Treasure Park purposely having something like that in "game."

If I could get someone with a few of the rarer bounties to trade with and complete my bounties list faster (FUCKING RARE ARCANA ONLY AVAILABLE ON TWO CHAPTERS, WHYYYYY), it'd be useful.

You can. If you go into Near and do the Near sync on your friend's page, it'll ping everyone on your friendlist who was the game and is searching for something and ask to trade with them. I did that to finish off my list with a specific friend.

You need to add 5-10% to every Vita game metascore. Vita tax is ridiculous.

NGS is the only game I know that has a heavy Vita tax. I read a bunch of reviews for it and they almost all said the game is exactly the same as the PS3 version, but it still only got 75-80 scores even though NGS is like a 9 game. OF course it made me weary of buying it, so I still haven't bothered getting it.

Well, it doesn't help that Ninja Gaiden Sigma + is 30FPS plus has aiming the bow issues (which completely breaks one boss fight in the game) along with stupid Ninpo powering up options (similar to NGS2). For a port of a near decade old title prettied up in HD and then "down"(?)ported to a hand held, it needs to be docked heavily for how bad they ported it.

its 30 frames? wat.

P4G 95% -> 100%
PSASBR 77% -> 82%
COD 32% -> 42%
Ragnarok 64% -> 74%
Fifa 13 57% -> 67%
Silent Hill BOM-> 58% -> 68%
AC3:L 71% -> 76%
Zero Escape 85% -> 90%
LBP 88% -> 93%
Dokuro 74% ->84%
When Vikings Attack 73% -> 78%
Smart As 72% -> 82%
Orgarhythm 68% -> 73%
NFS 79% -> 84%
New Little Kings Story 71% - 76%

There you go, updated Metascores!

oh interesting - little kings story gets a 76%? i think i'll have to double dip ;)

Yes, it's 30FPS compared to 60FPS in NG/Black/Sigma. How a last gen/X-box game gets ported to a handheld after being slightly prettied up for a current gen console port and gets half the frames, I'll never know

Even though I love it despite the 30fps, I still think they should've just ported Black.

Anything else I need to know about upgrading the memory cards besides Backup->Restore?

If you switch cards to a lower gig/downgrade you'll lose your backgrounds for the pages on the higher card if you switch back. EG: 32 gig has 5 pages of spread out games and switch to a 4 gig, due to space on the card(I guess?) it can't load those 3 other pages so it moves all the games down to 2 to save space.

Otherwise: Not really.

about to open my vita. Does it need to be charged first right out of the box? Also how do you know if you have dead pixels? Any other defects I should look out for?

Woooo part of the 32gb master race now. Feelsgoodman

This is good news, at least for me, since I really like the game

Beatshapers is making a Vita native version of their game BreakQuest: Extra Evolution, which to me is sort of like Breakout (or Arkanoid) meets Lumines (the slick presentation).

http://www.gertlushgaming.co.uk/2012/11/29/feature-interview-with-beatshapers/

That sound like a glorious mix.

lol thats strange, luckily i'm upgrading. thanks 4 the tips!

So I was reading that silly Next Gen rumor thread, but Gakai came up. I've read on Gaf that Sony could use Gakai to allow backwards compatibility via "cloud streaming" on Playstation devices.

How would that work? I've read that Sony could allow PS2 games on Vita using Gakai, but how? Would you need 3G? How would the game stream exactly? Is it even possible on a mobile device if your underground riding the subway train to work?

Well, if they did that, it would obviously have to be streamed through WiFi, since 3G's bandwidth speeds aren't even close to enough to do that. Who knows if they would actually do this, and streaming games is still not a very well proven thing IMO (has never worked well enough for me on my 15mbps connection).

Thats meant to be used when connected to Wifi obviously.

Edit: Beaten like a Sony Pony.

That's what I thought since I even heard about game streaming. How/why would anyone wanna stream a game...can you imagine streaming sonething like Final Fantasy 12?

If you can only stream via wifi, then it would defeat the purpose of a portable/mobile gaming device.

Sure, the only thing being streamed is the visual output, meaning the display. Its like watching a mid-high res youtube video.

The |OT| for the port can even tell you why it's bad.

Just a little correction.

Sigma+ is a port of the PS3's Sigma which was a full NG1 "remake" (remake uses a completely different engine, it is not a port of the original Xbox NG game that used the DOA engine), so no it's not a last gen game ported to handheld, it was a direct port of a PS3 -current gen- game.

So what is Soul Sacrifice exactly? I looked at some gameplay videos, but the translators were absolutely terrible and it just looked like a co-op version of demon souls, but not as hard.

^ some kind of DS/GEB/MH hybrid afaik. Looks great.

Dog looks a bit sad in the second one, obviously he wants to play with Kat too.

I should upload some screens to that thread, what was if called exactly?

yeah Vita need a better camera.

in the revision they should takes some Xperia S cams from Sony Mobile(no one buys their phones anyway).

it's a Monster Hunter/God Eater clone, nothing like Demon's Souls.

I looks like a demon's themed monster hunter. There characters seem way more acrobatic and there's a lot of emphasis on self flagellation to gain combat advantages. Yep.

Still, the art for the monsters is really good.

Try playing in the game, and then starting the music. Some games require you to hear their menu music and stuff, lol.

Third largest Android manufacturer in the world.

As for the cameras, they're going to stay due to AR reasons.

You're right, of course. But Sigma wasn't completely terrible like Sigma+ is. Again: I dunno how they can fuck up a port like this, but...

It's partially why I have no hope that NGS2+ is a good port.

No one really care about the augmented reality gimmicky crap,not on Vita and not on 3DS.

Give us a better/decent camera and let Invizimals Vita be a pokemon/digimon type RPG game.

Third largest Android manufacturer in the world.

What with Sony and third places?

oh well android the entire market is completely with Samsung, so third rank must sell 100 phones per year or something j/k

Pulzar is a decent game. Fireworks is too, but the best part about it is the part that DOESNT use the AR cards, so it doesnt really count.

Just started playing Gravity Rush. My fuck, this game seems awesome as hell. What problems did the game have again that caused many to say it was just an overrated game with a lot of problems?

Err, the weaker the cameras the less stress put onto Vita's hardware to render the AR stuff.

My mistake, Sony's actually the third largest smartphone manufacturer. Second largest Android manufacturer. They're on pace to sell 34 million units this year.

Yeah, pretty much.

See: Wake Up Club

I don't know that I've seen that opinion. I know there were people that didn't like it, but usually it's just not their type of game or something?
