Vita PSN Game And Service Thread

If this is true, why it didn't happened when other first party paid for games?
Let's say Monster Hunter 3U or GTAIV episodes as some random examples.
Not going to address the Monster Hunter example because the WiiU's third party situation is every bit as dire as Vita's.

So why wouldn't paying for particular PS3 exclusives deter third parties from developing for PS3 without that added incentive? For one thing, it makes a lot more sense to do cheap ports of 360 games to PS3 because even when the userbase wasn't there, it was at least useful for the Japanese market. Sony doesn't have to work really hard to convince devs like Take 2 and Activision to port their AAA games to PS3.

Whereas with Vita, you have a piece of hardware with no competitive advantage in any region.

OMG!!! Just saw how you can do the workaround on Youtube. This game is getting bought again (already have UMD and HD Collection) as soon as I get home!

I'd wait for a sale. IIRC it's absurdly over priced on PSN.

Not really, $12 million isn't much

Think about how long Sony Liverpool could've lived off of that $12 million.

Oh man my friend picked up a white Vita today. I really want one now but I already own a black one. So depressing.

If Sony ever makes a Vita redesign I'll wait for the White version. :(

Also, there's PSM for the Xperia T right? I'm trying to choose between a GS3 or the Xperia T and PSM (plus music unlimited) would make me pick up the XT.

Xperia T is indeed PlayStation Certified, so PSM is a go.

Nothing to do with "nostalgia" glasses. Controls take some getting used to, but the games are great. Not the games fault that your hands arent able to able to use any control scheme that is different from the standard :P

I still agree somwhat though, the games are famous for their cumbersome control scheme. But if you arent willing to learn it, then its not the games fault you consider them "unplayable".

isnt 3 the subsistance version?

Pfft. I bought (and played a little) Field Commander when it was $5 like two years ago, before PSRS even launched. Get on my level, Takao.

Also Ass Creed 3: Liberation won't let me pick-pocket. Is this that stupid back-touch bug people are talking about?

Also I think someone I near'd (quote to see PSN) posts here, right?

You can't pickpocket when people are looking at you.
You can tell because their heads will track your position and they may gesture towards you.

Nice, the amount of Vita owners near me doubled in the past few weeks. From ~40 to 80+ in just over a month.

:)

The number of Vita owners around me somehow decreased from 79 to 12 in just over a month. I don't understand how Near works at all.

Motorstorm RC has the perfect cross-save implementation IMO, and the one that all the games must follow: you just play and if the console is online it's synched automatically in the cloud saving your progress like stuff unlocked or best times.

You don't need to upload or download the save from a menu. It's way more comfortable.

btw the game is crossbuy. So if you bought the Vita version you'll have your PS3 version in the download list or in the store. :)

I got the Vita version free on release from Scion.
I did not spend $7 for the game, so I did not get the PS3 version.

I think near checks online signals for active Vita units. meaning 80 Vita units in my area in the last 3-4 days (or whatever amount of time its measuring).

When they made them so much money on the ps2

it makes me so mad for them to just ignore sony, knowing damn well by doing so it could put them out of business

thankfully for a few loyal ones that will support them in their bad time. everyone else is just so greedy and refuses to touch it until the vita becomes a hit....well guess what. the vita will never become a hit without your support. so thanks. you guys killed the vita.

oh and thanks activision for a cod game.....the one you outsourced to a terrible developer. vta just dont get the respect it deserves

I just have near set to auto update every so often. I think you have to sync from the app otherwise and then it only picks up active near users at that time.

holy hidden text batman.
anyways... it's sony's job to make the vita an appealing place to release third party games, not the third party's job to release games for it.

Haha, I am not the only one doing this! Though I think no one noticed mine so far when I did them.

I wholeheartedly agree with all you are saying here.
Who can we consider Sony's most loyal fans?
I always hear people like Kojima and Nomura. Are there any other developers known to be Sony loyalists?

two things
-it wasn't Takao who wrote that he just copied if from gamefaqs for lolz.
-Panasonic Jungle.

Nis in general seems pretty loyal to sony, they try some other things from time to time but all of their big products are on sony.

the only other company i know of off the top of my head having loyalties with a company is Cave and they are Microsoft loyalists.

if kojima cared about vita he wouldn't be making a ground zeroes tie-in for phones

Oh nice, I am tempted but I really want this as DD.

Also, I know this doesn't come with PW but PW won't transfar on Vita right or was that fixed?
Peace Walker (PSP verison) works via PS3 transfer.
OMG!!! Just saw how you can do the workaround on Youtube. This game is getting bought again (already have UMD and HD Collection) as soon as I get home!
Just to clarify so there isn't any confusion, while PW has been able to be "transferred" over to the Vita from the PS3 ever since the Vita's launch in February, the ability to "transfar" one's save progress between versions (in addition to unlocking trophies on the go) CANNOT be done from the Vita. It can ONLY be done from the PSP.

That has yet to be patched.

EDIT: Check that... looks like there's a non-intuitive work around that essentially DOES get transfarring to work even without a patch.
Check this thread for the details.
Haven't tried it out myself yet.

This happened with me too. I did a double take the other day when the amount of people playing near me said 58. It was usually always 13. I dunno where all them there Vit-ers came frum.

Going to bed, can't wait to wake up to all those Vita announcements at the VGA!

The video I saw said that if you plug a USB thumb drive into your PS3 instead of a PSP or Vita, then transfar, then move the transfarred save file to the Vita it will work exactly as if you were transfarring to a PSP, trophies and all.

Yeah, I noted the workaround up above. Weird that a thumbdrive makes it work correctly.

[Sonic and Sega RT] Ok so I could tell it was a good game but felt that it was a bit plain...until the jet set radio drift challenge ! big smile on my face, nice graphics with the extra things on the screen and great stage, also decent music mix.

Framerate dips aren't annoying, for the most part it's not an issue, doubt people will notice much. One stage (as a previous poster mentioned) has a noticeable dip (samba) but it's no where near modnation bad (so far) at all. It's good.

Will play some online after I unlock some stages and post back.

Framerate isn't what I hoped though tbh (aka not rock solid - doesn't dip that much and it's perfectly playable but come on sega/sumo :/ ) - and the graphics aren't anything to shout about so not really much of an excuse. Not the best performing or looking game by any means but not bad at all either. And fun if you like sega/karting. Some really cool mechanics in this.

Showing the game logo instead of a decent animation when you go offtrack is a little bit tacky.

You can barrel roll without doing a (right stick) trick which is quite nice since criterion disabled it with NFS:MW - going over a ramp with half your vehicle.

Quite sure you will love it :) I'm just extra sour with framerate-stuff (which tbh is actually fine) and was hoping sega would razzle and dazzle me like with JSR

haha just as I say that.. [damn can't upload screen atm, will do in a bit..going to play some more - but some very cool events/levels] - some levels are actually amazing/fantastic, a few of the earlier ones less so

Good loading times as well.
Challenging difficulty - medium feels very good for first play-through.
Also feels like they tribute some of Mario 64 in this game in sega's own way - the ship crossing in the donkey kong level over the bridge. rainbow road. the cars from that traffic level. Really nice touches.
Make sure to change to control type B - accelerate with X and drift with R (instead of the other way round). Don't do this, it makes it harder to do stunts.

Thanks for all the info my vitafriend! xP
Well, i love sonic and i still don't have this game and i loved the first so i bought it now and i'm downloading. Hope it's fun and cheers me a little since i'm having bad results at university and other stuff.

Hope some sega crazyness helps! xP
and maybe hatsune miku will make into the future dlc of the game! *__*
