Vita PSN Game & Service Thread 2

-PlayStation Mobile got absolutely nothing. (then again it's a dead service)

....

Noticed that Amazon.co.uk is having a cross-play titles page

but it's empty/useless really, sad that Sony dropped the Ball on the cross-play/cross-buy/cross-anything program and failed to deliver the promise really hard.

drop $26 more from that price that and I might think about it.

it's holiday season,I think your wife will not hurt you.

almost everyone here agree with me on everything (deep down you all know this) :P

I think VT4 and Sigma+ and Wipeout shits all over Drake and Dante.

-I have no confidence in Sony any more(Vita revision might remove BC to block the hacking going on now)

Worst looking PSVita games

1-Texture Sacrifice demo

3DS game [Spy Hunter] > PSone game [Soul Sacrifice].

It baffles me how long it take, and how much wrong and broken and non fun it was to play, also asking for $15 was just crazy.

for DD only games it is the biggest fail and disappointment of the year.

hey guys, i'm looking to store my saves and games/info in my computer... do i use the "copy" function or back up function in the content manager? thanks.

Copy. This way you can copy each individual app and not one giant save file consisting of everything.

Yup. Will save headaches later if he gets a bigger card too -- Carl had multiple different full backups and was trying to figure out how to make sure none of his saves got overwritten by versions he didn't want to use. If you don't use the PS+ cloud, copy is the way to go, IMO.

good to know thanks. will get a 32 card soon, OR will wait out for a bigger card to drop.

Not for the Vita. I think it was supposed to be but there was some kind of screw-up and it was available hours/some long time after the full game went up.

There sure was. I was on vacation when it came out down in OBX.
I downloaded it that Tuesday night (10/9 or so) and tried it out and thought "this is not something I would spend money on, I don't understand the hype".

I was led here followed all the steps and still I have nat type 3.

First step I would try is making sure your Vita has a static IP.
Then I would make all those port forwards active for that particular IP.
If that does not work, enable the static IP you set for your Vita as the DMZ host.

so they should just avoid the game completely?

Yes, until Sony or ATVI (hahahahahaha) fixes this (hahahahahaha) issue with no checkpoints on Veteran (to where it's an annoyance for the "campaign" that is nothing but Spec Ops missions otherwise) and aim acceleration to where people aren't spray and praying in small ass maps that show the bad spawns on TDM. It's not worth the cash or look.

The only good thing I can say is that it's a competent shooter otherwise and Nihilistic nailed the CoD "feel"/looks. If only they had more time to polish the game it could've maybe been good.

I bought the game as soon as it went up before my class (which was around 8pm est) and don't remember the demo going up until a while after, unless I'm thinking of another game.

I did all that and still nothing.

How would I go about doing the DMZ stuff here?

Maybe not the same day?

Retro City Rampage™ PS Vita Demo (1)

That's the day after.

10/09/2012 was the release date of RCR.

I did all that and still nothing.

Quick guess is you would enable and then use any IP address for the source and 192.168.0.xxx for the destination where 192.168.0.xxx is the static IP you gave to your Vita.

If you're tech savvy, ddWRT or Tomato are much better FW for your router, if your model supports them and you aren't afraid to tinker.
That said, let me see if I can look at how DMZ is on my router.

I think 192.168.1.99 is my PS3.

Sony forgot to upload the RCR Vita demo when it came out, it took them a day or more. I remember because I had to play it on PS3.

See, I'm not remembering incorrectly!

Holy cow, so much to take in on persona 4. Loving it! At the same time games like this seem so daunting in that they are so meaty that you feel like you won't be able to take everything and may miss out on something. Could be wrong on that, but I look forward to wherever the journey takes me.

Funny thing happened though
as soon as I got back to the main area of the midnight channel after confronting Chie's shadow I thought to myself why doesn't Chie have glasses? Then sure enough it prompts you to mention the glasses
it was just humorous to me that the in game characters and myself came to that realization at the same time.

Tried this and still I'm stuck with nat type 3. I'm not tech savvy so I wouldn't have a clue about any of that other stuff.

If you're a DSL person, you may need to bridge your modem and set the router to act as a switch-modem instead.

To the person who added my name on the PSN, I am sorry for some reason I can't connect to the PSN right now. I can access the PSN Store but for some reason connecting to the PSN itself takes an unnaturally long time (the screen stuck at please wait....)

I apologize >____<

Select "Enabled".

Leave Source as "Any IP Address".

Use your Vita's static IP for the Destination. You must have set up your Vita to use a static IP for this to work.

I bought Hot Shots on sale and I'm kind of regretting it--how the fuck do you play this game? I'm terrible.

Sounds about right. The club/distance for the first couple shots is kind of intuitive. Putting, however, I found obtuse as all fuck.

I'm tempted to drop $9 on it since I just sold my physical copy... but at the same time, I think I'd try it again and get really angry at my inability to putt and stop playing again.

Only golf game I played was Tiger Woods like 10 years ago and I'm doing pretty well at Hot Shots. Haven't lost a tournament yet, am up to the Pro challenge level so far. I don't think golf game mechanics have changed very much.

Putting is pretty simple. The small dots moving on the grid show what direction the slope is and the faster the dots move the greater the angle of the slope. So if the small dots are moving towards you and to the right then that just means you have to compensate with your putting by hitting with more power and a bit to the left. From there it's just practice I guess.

It's the game itself, and no it isn't going to be fixed since Nihilistic is dead. Anyone wanting to play Black Ops on the go: AVOID. The multiplayer is terrible and the singleplayer is just as bad (no checkpoints, WTF for Veteran!?)
I finally got to play. Worked flawlessly for a few matches then went back to being glitchy. I actually really like it, but the fucking glitches are unforgivable. I hope Killzone isn't garbage like this.

I don't think Nihilistic had much of a choice with a 5 month development cycle.
True, I hadn't tried Resistance so I didn't know what to expect from CoD. Hopes were too high I guess.

Ughh I really wish that Peace Walker HD could be purchase alone on PSN.

I would rather have 2 and 3 portable, but the home version of Peacewalker seems to be vastly superior.

And while I'm complaining about Konami, why the fuck doesn't portable ops work on vita? dammit

I bought Unit 13 and HSG both on sale and HSG is pretty great. I was never into Golf games except for the first Mario Golf game I think.

Understanding what the balls meant when putting was an epiphany for me.

Thanks guys, I think I'll order it. A puzzle platformer sounds cool and it's only £20.

I'm so happy to have searched for and found a significant amount of Skull/Dokuro fandom during this last week of the year. Few games purchases this year could be better. It makes me feel better despite Game Arts' previous puzzle game disappearing. Enjoy!

Standalone Peace Walker did come out on PSN. I can't check atm but it should still be available there.

As for Portable Ops not working on Vita that's entirely up to SCEA, I believe.

Sony dropped the ball sooooooooo badly in Japan. How do you go into a holiday season without a single popular release? It's insane.

Last year they had HSG at least.

:/

So most wanted, COD, assassins creed, all stars, sonic racing, strangers wrath and persona 4 aren't popular?

Where they dropped the ball was marketing the fuck out of it

I meant in Japan, lol :P (fixed for clarity)

edit: but yeah they dropped the ball in the West in marketing. I did see a handful of commercials but that was about it, and I still think their "console quality on the go" tagline is a bad idea

Oh sorry! In that case yeah, can't really think of anything big :/

I think they need to be like its console quality but applied to portable experiences. So all the graphics and controls and depth of a console but the pick up and play of a portable.

Japan is a pretty portable friendly market compared to the US. I have no doubt the Vita will do just fine next year in Japan as publishers start to fade out support of the PSP and push the PS3/Vita multiplat release.
