agreed. i don see many people out and about using it... but when i take mine out in public i'm damn proud and try to "show it off". the other day though on the subway i was playing mine and a guy stood right next to me and was playing his black vita.... not sure what game but i think RO. i had to shut mine off because i find it hard to play hot shots standing on a subway.

Ys 7 is much better than that IMO though it plays a bit differently.

I don't see how they could shrink the full civ down to work on a console. let alone a handheld.

I never actually played Civ Rev cause console Civ didn't exactly sound too good to my ears but I am certain a good port of Civ 5 is quite possible on Vita due to high resolution screen and touch screen/back touch. That said I am sure it will not happen .

Now I'm less inclined to buy Sonic Racing Transformed seeing 2 guys saying the controls isn't for them and too floaty. Guess I'll download the PS3 demo tomorrow.

While the controls can be floaty, they can also be tight. You unlock things called mods, which affect aspects of your kart: Handling, Boost, Acceleration, Speed, etc. Each of those listed has 5 fragments to fill in, so one mod may decrease handling, while another increases boost length. None of them are fully perfect, so it's about picking one for your play style. So while handling can be floaty, it's also more than playable.

The game also has various objectives, outside of a grandprix mode. The mission might be beat a staff ghost, avoid traffic, drift while staying in the green markings to extend time and hit checkpoints, etc.

The game is super fun, looks about on par with 360, though admittedly less lighting/shadows.

I'll be honest. I didn't address the 'floaty' concerns because I didn't understand them.

The demo is Sonic-only (max speed, high handling). Perhaps he isn't the character for you (like building an opinion on Mario Kart based on Bowser).

I'm a bit confused about the reception of (the Vita version of) this one. I'm interested in getting the game on some platform or other, and if the Vita port was good I'd obviously prefer that because of portability and.. uh, well.. VITA POWER!! But there are very few professional reviews specifically of the Vita versions, and the feedback on forums is extremely divisive - some people saying, just like you are, that it's a great port that is, for all intents and purposes, up to the level of the console versions, and other people saying that it's got horrible framerate drops and 3DS style graphics.
Could we maybe get additional opinions from the ever-reliable VitaGAFers to settle this issue?

Keep dreaming; We'll finally see Wake Up Club Tuesday, but we won't see that Trophy patch for another couple months at the least. It took a localization team something like 6 months to bring Frobisher Says! to the US store after all and it was already in English. So I figure we got another 6 months of waiting (at least) for the patch. :lol

Finished Sound Shapes' campain. Beck's first level is the best in the game, but overall I liked deadmou5 levels better, gameplay-wise. Musically though, Beck takes the cake.

But this is not what I wanted to post: i just unlocked Beat School mode, I love it! I wish they developed a whole game all about this concept. Reminds me of those electronic games for kids they made in the 80s, only harder and cooler.

Death mode is crazy, I couldn't even beat the first level so far, lol.

I wasn't so sure before buying it but now I am: totally worth the price. Thanks Vitagaf.

I still have 5 levels to finish in death mode. Some of the levels took me what seemed like 30 tries to beat.

I can't stand the handheld GTA games, I want a true port of one of the 3D ones, or a new third person one that fully takes advantage of the dual sticks. If Sony threw some money (if they had any) at Rockstar to make a GTA exclusively for Vita, imagine how much people would flock to getting it? I love RCR though, a lot of people hated it but I was eating up the nostalgia.

RCR might be the worst game on Vita. It's certainly up there.

I don't like top down GTAs but CW was good for what it was. It's nowhere near as good as the ps2 GTAs or even the other 2 PSP GTAs but it was alright.
