Hey Vitabro's,

a mate of mine keeps saying that they were mentioning in an IGN podcast that they couldn't mention some of them was busy with Ni No Kuni on his Vita. They couldn't tell anything about it. Does someone know what the hell my mate is talking about?

Is the all gold/all co-op achievement still in Sigma 2 Plus? Because god help whoever gets this on a portable with that terrible netcode to do that spoiler for THAT mission.

I'm sure the netcode will be better at least.
Will probably need help from god anyway
.
I know as much about Sigma 2 Plus as you do, sadly. I doubt the achievements will have changed much since the core of the game is the same.

Remote play via CFW or bullshit. I doubt IGN would tout about their CFW PS3s in podcasts tho so probably just a mistake.

Can't say anything about the others, but the PDP grip has a nice matte, soft plastic finish. It also doesn't cover the cartridge slot (which I've heard the Nyko one does).

Yeah went to look at some reviews.

The Nyko grip is the only one that looks like it'll be comfortable. However I read it makes reaching the backpad's middle quite harder.

Not being able to reach to cartridge slot is an annoyance, but I don't jump between games that often (I'm also betting more on DD atm).

The PDP just seems like it doesn't add that much extra, in terms of grip.

Btw the only reason I'm asking this is since I have to import these fuckers, so don't want to regret after waiting for 15 days.

Currently playing MBA, great game so far.

I also picked up Gods Eater Burst in anticipation of the sequel since I heard the story is also important unlike the typical hunting game. I've never played this type of game before so should be good. I've got Ragnarok Odyssey also but I thought I'll play GE first so I won't be spoilt by the visuals.

Anything I need to know before I begin?

Is there a good stand with speakers built into it? I sleep with ear plugs in and Wake up Club through the Vita speakers is not loud enough (I was already looking at getting a second charger for upstairs - slight change of plan)

Edit: is the Nyko stand good? It's the only one I could find

North America - concrete release dates:

2/5/13 - Sly Cooper Thieves in Time

2/26/13 - Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 +

3/5/13 - MLB The Show 13

3/19/13 - Dead or Alive 5 +

Should we expect the DD version of Sly to be cheaper than retail, or am I dreaming

With the pricing of all the recent DD games.... I'd say your dreaming. Maybe a dollar cheaper which is a pita. I'm basically going all retail where possible.

Keep getting a crash bug in motorstorm on the last race of pacific rim (supercar hot lap). Trying a restart to see if that helps

Nope, didn't help. Get error C2-12828-1 every time now. What do I do now? That was the last race to complete all the pacific rift races, and only three away from finishing the entire festival :(

Tried deleting the game and redownload ing, then restoring my save game. No good. I did the other races so now I only have *one* medal to get in one race, but it crashes when I play it.

Help?

If I play on Ps3 (so it syncs my times and progress), could I delete the game on vita and start over with a new game, and it'd sync from PS3? That would at least delete the save game which might be a problem.

When the hell is Munch's Oddysee coming to the Vita?

Also, if there are any more tournament results, PM me and I will add them to the brackets. I feel like shit today and don't feel like combing over 10 pages to find them at the moment. Going to post the updated brackets in the Community thread and we can carry on most of our conversation there.

Anyone up for a HSG game/lobby now?

Set one up and I will join for a few. Can't mic or anything though because my entire household has the nasty flu. They are resting and I can barely talk anyways.

So! I'm about to go buy a Vita this afternoon, hopefully the Liberation bundle so I can get DAT WHITE

Anything I need to know about? Games? PSN games? I'll probably get Book of Memories and maybe Ragnarok Odyssey.

Vitabros, help. I just can't seem to get into any games since finishing P4G. WTH is wrong with me.

Playing Strangers Wrath seems like a chore. P3P doesn't scratch that itch. Even tried Crimson Shroud on 3DS to no avail.

:(

Edit: considered a new playthrough of Tactics Ogre, but can't seem to get into it. Tried finishing MGS3, and again, my drive is totally sapped. It's like I have gamer depression or something.

how can u mic during HSG? do you start the party app and it stays open during hsg?

i may be around to play in 5ish hrs or so.

VLR if you've played 999 if not...try Dokuro, Uncharted even Gravity Rush!

or new little kings story!

Sly 1 is probably the best of the 3 since it limits the mini games and you rarely play as the friends. You die in 1 hit too unless you get enough coins to get an item that lets you take 1. It's still really easy for a platformer but it's a lot better than 2 and 3.

No, it's not. 2 is easily the best Sly. 1 is clearly the first game in the series with clumsier controls, restricted level design & ideas that are quite clearly half-baked. The mini-games in 2 aren't the bestestestest thing ever, but they are decent (they aren't completely unplayable, they are just simple) and there's a good balance between the stealthy platforming & minigames. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with Sly's friends. Sly 3 strips away some things that made 2's worlds worth exploring while also upping the number of mini-games, which make it a worse game than 2 (but it's still better than 1).

Sonic Racing Transformed, the Golden Axe course. That should do it.

Don't have the game? Buy it! It'll cure you right up ^_^

I couldn't connect online, weird. Oh well, hopefully we can do a game tomorrow. I really improved since the last time. Gotta go sleep. Btw, I'll have LBP on Friday most probably.

Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention, if you're looking for an SRPG. People keep forgetting it came out on Vita.

Sink your teeth into a meaty, grindy SRPG like Disgaea 3. That's my plan...

Have you tried Sound Shapes? It's a great palate cleanser between big RPGs. And the level creation tool is incredibly addictive. It's like a streamlined, more accessible LBP.

THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU

to each their own <.<

AssCreed is decent if you aren't expecting perfection, PSABR is stupid silly fun, Sonic Racing is ace as well!

DOKURO

I know 999 gets a lot of love on GAF but but I found the "puzzle" parts rather obtuse and illogical. Similarly with Layton too.

I'm weird, I know. :(

Edit: I thought about SFXTEKKEN but impressions were all over the place. And for someone who has limited fighter experience, I don't wanna chance it.

I make a lot of assumptions. This was one of them. I probably shouldn't get people's hopes up without knowing that can work though.

Don't care about sports and certainly dont care about tits mcgee fighter!

I don't care about the latter either. The other 3 though will be amazing. That's right. AMAZING!

Wait, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus has co-op? Full campaign co-op or separate co-op missions? Colour me interested.

Interesting, I didn't know that. I don't think I would ever coop on it though.

I've seen some people asking about Sumioni. I bought the game, finished ending 1, 2 and am currently going through stages that lead to ending 3. The game has been a blast personally, but it's not a game for everyone. You have to know what you're getting yourself into.

The first time you clear the game, it can easily take around 30 minutes, but there are many more stages that you need to unlock (ending 1 has around 6 stages, there are 29 stages in total). It is true that the stages have been repetitive with re-used assets, to the point of feeling as if the stages are random generated. But that isn't really the game's focus. It's the fighting, the situations you're put into and the scores that you receive near the end of each stage.

The gameplay is addictive and interesting while not being too deep. The fights can easily be repetitive if you don't use arts, summons and ink options. I feel like it's an interesting dynamic of anticipating attacks, deciding when to go in attack mode and give it all you got. It's especially the use of ink and the powers that you have. It didn't get boring for me. The controls are also very responsive and fast. The scoring system depends on how fast it takes you to finish a stage and how much damage you have received. You can get up to 3 stars at most.

The branching system actually doesn't work as bad as I was led to believe. It's pretty straightforward in how you achieve alternative paths that lead you to an ending. You need to get 3 stars on the stage that has alternative paths, you don't need to have 3 stars with other levels. The save system is also not bad. You save your progress every time you finish a stage but you don't have to. So if you perform bad, you can simply retry until you get it right. You can also save in different files but it's better to have one save file. The last ending is obviously going to take the longest time to beat, but it's better to go after easier endings first in order to build up your health and ink gauge. These stats are brought over every time you finish the game.

The endings have a continuation to them. The story has been pretty enjoyable with some nice wit about it, but it's not really the focus either. Don't expect any fancy cutscenes. It's only text with artwork. I find the music to be very good and fitting with the game. The game looks nice with its style that is similar to Okami. You also have gallery mode where you can listen to the songs and watch artwork (the latter I haven't unlocked). There is ranking but it doesn't seem to have any stats in there, weird.

Overall, I think the game is fun. I'm definitely planning on playing more of it to try and get other endings. The price is JUST right. I can understand how it was too expensive for North Americans (around 20-30 dollards?), this is enough of a reason to be negative about the game. It is a smaller game with high replay value, I'm glad exseed handled it better for EU.

It should be pretty clear wether the game is for you after reading this. It definitely is specific and different but it's not bad, it was unfairly panned. I also enjoyed Shinobido 2 which had a similar fate.

No I understand, narrative and story are unbelievably important to me as well and I understand about feeling a void after P4G...

Thought about Persona 2 Innocent Sin?
