Nothing fancy, but someone should bump it a bit from time to time :P
Oh and also make sure to post some scores so that we can have a GAF leaderboard.

Turning felt awkward, jumping at rails etc at the correct angle isn't great, and as Iacobellis is finding out, wall grinding can be a pain.

Yeah I was trying to jump from a rail to another rail and just turning the stick in the direction slightly makes the guy spaz out and do a full right/left jump. It's very hard to do a precise jump in that game.

Wall jumps only work on pre-determined spots apparently. The tutorial says approach a wall from an angle and I spent 20 minutes doing that and nothing happening. It has to be a wall that's connected to other platforms on a gap.

Yeah, I had to find that myself instead the game explaining it firsthand. I used the wall above the two police cars.

Urgh, BSI has a sluggish framerate when it pulls a visual trick on you.

I really want to like this and get into it, but I don't feel like I'm getting any better at it, I'm just getting lucky or unlucky, it feels like. I've played through the Countdown mode about 5-6 times and my first attempt is still my best score by a long shot. :/

Then how do I time it correctly? I can see why they gave this out for free on PS+.

EDIT: Nevermind, I got it.
SMFH, why are you playing it still if it's so shit?

Not really, if you're pushing on the stick before the jump you make a hard turn, if you do it after you jump you do a smaller turn.

I've never had these problems, you should understand when to jump on rails in a minute or two of playing. You're probably all jumping incredibly late. I think you guys are trying to force it to be a game it was never meant to be. This was never meant to and never will be anything like tony hawk or dave mirra, or the other games you guys keep comparing it to. Yes, if you think it controls the same as that instead of controlling it like the game wants you to then it will be unbelievably miserable but that's a personal problem, not a problem with the game.

Booting up Big Sky Infinity takes some time, great scott.

Why do you take so much time to defend the game? Why is it that difficult for you to let me express how I feel about the game?

All right, I've only had my Vita for two weeks or so, and I am still in the dark about a few things. Mayhaps some kind soul can enlighten me?

First - there is a "Playstation Mobile" section in the PSN store. I thought those games were for the Sony Xperia phones, no? Do they run on the Vita? If so, how well?

Also, Plus on the Vita. Can you set the cloud saving for each individual game like on the PS3, or is it only all or none? Can I access them on my PS3 over the "cloud"?

Custom soundtracks - they don't work withe the one game I tried, Pinball Arcade - are there any other games that don't let you play your own music? And WHY DO DEVS EVEN HAVE THIS OPTION? I'm eternally pissed I can't play my own music while playing pinball. I take it it's not a game requirement like on the 360?

PlayStation Mobile games run on the Vita. I'm not sure about Cloud saves because I personally don't use them, and most games do support custom soundtracks, more than the PS3, at least.

Ok, please continue to bitch about each and every stunt you must perform in the tutorial then as you have been doing. I was trying to help you with the controls and you're the one that started throwing out stupid shit like "hurr hurr I can see why this game was free" instead of valid criticisms. That's the only thing I've taken exception to, but whatever enjoy.

After all that shit I talked yesterday about the $5 minimum, I went and bought Surge this morning anyway.

I'm an asshole

Doe anyone know anything about this "Legends of War: Patton" game? It came out on the PSP to very good reviews and is supposed to be getting a number of ports, including the Vita. As an admirer of Patton (I wrote a comprehensive term paper on his North African campaign in high school that went well beyond the requirements), I'd love to check this out, but it seems like I am the only one cares.

I had trouble with the Tutorial because not even the game can explain what I'm supposed to do well enough, and had to resort to people like me on a forum to help. Out of all of this people that regularly post in this thread, you're the only one that got mad when I remarked as to why the game is free.

You bought one of the best PSN only games on the console, no need to feel bad about it.

Jesus Christ dude. We get it, Jet Set Radio has impeccable and responsive controls! Happy?

We don't know yet. No answer from PS on my tweet about SotN either. :(

No answer from my tweet to Konami UK either, SOTN is on the US list compatible list, if they had just brought over the US version I imagine we wouldn't have to worry about any of this.

But noooo....

I was interested in Ragnarok Odyssey for a while and was waiting on the EU release. I don't think I'll get it anymore though. The more I see, the more it looks like you really need to be in a party to enjoy it. I'm a single player game only type of game and pretty much never touch any form of multiplayer except for the occasional local coop. Pity because it looks cool.

That's also why I'm kinda hesitating on Soul Sacrifice. I mean that looks even better, and I love the background and bits of lore. Always a sucker for that stuff. And I'm really looking forward to the music as well. But again it looks quite party coop based. I just hope it has enough single player content to be worthwhile

That's not what I said at all but whatever.

Because posts like that, in general, add nothing, people were trying to help you and then you said that. There's no big argument, I thought it was a shitty post, that's it.

BULLSHIT.mp3

Go play JSRF and grind rails with ease (since they magnetic railed it) and then try to do chapter 1's crane grind from the guardrails grind. Even if you time the jump perfectly Beat/others won't grind because there's no magnetic rails.

WHY THEY DIDN'T GO IN AND GIVE JSRF CONTROLS/PHYSICS/MECHANICS when they improve the game 20x, I'll never know. It's why they changed shit in JSRF in the first place: Because the mechanics/controls/grind-to-grind-to-trick-to-trick in JSR is AWFUL. There's no defending it, despite me liking the game.

Ease off the gas with shifts (R/L in WipeOut control). I never use the brake.

Yeah, the brakes are set to 100% here to where they hurt more than they help. You can't set them 10% (AFAIK) in 2048 to where they become tolerable turn whittlers.

Just play it online then i mainly like to play SP too but this kind of game is not fun without partners, god eater is a tonne of fun even with A.I.'s and i'm sure soul sacrifice would top it by a large margin.

Sounds like a major change that would have ramifications throughout the entire game. I really don't think they can just copy-pasta that stuff from an Xbox game into this one.

I disagree. Giving JSRF's momentum controls, trick-whenever-you-want (to where getting 50/100 tricks in the tutorial isn't an exercise in frustration and "infinite grind"), and magnetic rails would improve the platforming mechanics ten-fold. No joke. While JSRF was more a sand-box with less police, it's platforming is top-notch and Sega really should've given the option to turn JSRF mechanics on/off in this release if they were doing it.

I mean, shit, reviewers in 2001 were complaining about JSR's mechanics/controls/grind-issues, so it's not like "spoiled jaded gamers that aren't timing their jumps right," is the problem.

EU Store Update

Hadn't noticed this before (Apologies if it's already been mentioned) so for me it's an unexpected surprise, brilliant :D I have the PSOne version but it looks horrible blown up on a HD LCD :(

is it a PSP version?

And whats this with the EU PSN releasing new PSone games? SotN, Spyro - has the world turned upside down?

Don't suppose parappa the rapper or Gitaroo Man are coming anytime soon?

US physical release was canceled. If the developer still makes it they could go direct to PSN like the PSP version was.

I'm not saying anything about spoiled jaded gamers. I am saying that you are asking a lot. They are selling JSR ports for $10. You're asking them to revamp core mechanics. Like I said, it's not as easy as just opening up JSRF's code (if it still even exists) and CTRL-C,CTRL-V to JSR's code. It's beyond the scope of the product.

I have nothing to add to this discussion, only to say that I found this mental image very amusing.

Doesn't seem so… I just tried to transfer it and my Vita says there's no content on the PS3, although the SotN bubble is there… WTF?!

Means it wont work, god damn SCEE that is lame, all these years and when you get around to release it you didn't manage to support your newest platform.

At least there is spyro, but it is still a pain in the ass, more waiting for me then, I was really hoping to have SOTN on Vita by the end of the year.

This is simply unbelievable… o_O
