Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | July 2013 | Slow Month, Fast Games

Someone here try to sell me on Farming Simulator.

I've never played Harvest Moon! But maybe?

Maybe this'll help - Here's a Farm Sim video from some beautiful sounding British guy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WzXIwRqTq0

^ That video came close to for me!

Btw about the Prince of Persia...they were part of the EU sale. Quite a lot of the games.

Tokyo Jungle on PSM would be a simple game, not quite like the PS3 version. PSM is for mobiles. If the game could use better graphics or be significantly improved on PSN, don't go PSM.

Speaking of, are we entirely sure that the Vita re-release of FFX and FFX-2 will get an English release? Because look what happened on Project Diva :\

SEGA not localizing it is practically a good thing.

It means you can rest-easy and feel free to import any future Vita version day 1 rather than waiting for a possible second localization.

I think Kung Fu Rabbit is coming to Europe today, so you guys over there should get it. It's not the best game ever but it's very fun platforming and can be really challenging too.

Muramasa finally shipped. Damn, a whole week later.

Oh yeah, I just bought a 3DS XL *runs away*

No need to run, hahaha. I *think* people already know that I own both 3DSXL and Vita here and no one in the specific threads either here or the 3DS one ever pelted me with hatred rocks.... yet.

im pretty sure it was at E3 running on Vita, in english.

Oh is that so? Wonderful news then if an English release is confirmed for Vita version.

Because I wouldn't be getting them if they are only for PS3 version only.

Ok, disclaimer: I love me some Pinball Arcade.

Seasons Two Season Pass is out today on Vita, and that's going to be packs 11-20 for $29.99 (or $39.99 for pro)

Pack 13 is also out today for $4.99

I already own pack 11 & 12 @ $4.99 each? That's $9.98

$9.98 + $29.99 = $39.97

...or packs 13-20, 8 x $4.99 = $39.92 + $9.98 = $49.90

Season pass is cheaper, still... but I could've saved $20, instead of $10, by not being an early adopter/super-enthusiastic Vita patron.

Nothing wrong with that. I think quite a few of us Vitabros have 3DS's here. It isn't weird or bad to want both, haha.

The 3DS doesn't at all match the Vita for me, but I'd still hate to not own one because there are some great games on it.

That's how it goes with buying anything. Prices decrease as time goes on and bundles are released.

3ds XL is great. Vita is better. But it's still great.

For myself I tend to use Vita in short bursts gaming, while 3DS gets longer hours gaming. But I am an RPG guy and 3DS have more of those currently so yeah.

As for the better/greater thing I think of them as equals, more or less.

It's the avatar that taunts me.

I don't think I will replace this avatar ever. It's really the perfect one for me, hahaha.

Oh, also, the DLC costumes for DoA5+... hot damn the prices are insane.

wowwww - did you all see this thread about Chaos Rings and Tokyo Jungle????

"Apparently it's in this week's Famitsu, I believe. 800 Yen. Optimized for Vita.
Also Tokyo Jungle for PSM. "
I'll wait until I see it, but I'd be really happy with a Chaos Ring port. I enjoyed it on iOS but ended up dropping it when my interest died off for iOS as a gaming platform. I'd happily double dip if it's a decent enough port.

I might be wrong, but I'm prettysure some/one of the promo trailers in the West have included Vita in the list of platforms for it.
I'm pretty confident it will come over to the West regardless.

Yeah, Im actually trying to budget for a 3DS XL. Still hoping for a price cut every now and then, might even get one used, but Im interested in some games on the platform. I'll think we'll get some great games in its lifetime.

With my Vita, Im also very satisfied with the titles available and on the way. I didn't own a PSP so my value is a little boosted but I think the Vita is a very worth successor in a technical sense. I can only wish that Sony turns it around and the Vita becomes marketable.

Its weird how Sony and Nintendo are in swap mirror situations. Nintendo's console is shaky, Same as Sony's handheld. If Sony can just start moving units then we'll see the Vita gather more titles and attention. Even something as good as how the DS and PSP coexisted where both systems were getting its own games because of how they were designed. At that time, If you were a handheld gamer and you didn't own both systems, you missed out on games point blank.

And I guess that what actually bothers me about Vita. Im actually really not sure if it will receive the life it truly deserves. I want to see system flourish and watch the games pour in.

and hopefully it doesn't end up as a Remote Device (albeit an amazing one)

I was interested in DoA5+ but not after I saw all that day 1 dlc. Only picked up SFxT as it had the characters included. Besides got too many fighters on this already. Only really played DOA on DC and xbox1 way back though. Also like the main dude is missing :S

Yeah, I've seen this principle in action before. I get ripped all the time by buying right before discounts, and I can bite the bullet and not sweat it after the initial disappointment.

They could have easily introduced season pass 2 when they introduced season pass 1 two months ago. This seems intentionally negligent... like the type of thing Far Sight probably had ready on iOS when Pack 11 released, but not ready on Vita until Pack 13 because they never know what they're doing with their release schedules and patching.

I've made a little family.

News about the new Zeboyd game reminded me about the talk of possible Vita versions of their previous games. Was any more ever said about that, or did they drop it in favor of getting the new game out quicker?

Yeah I think they asked whether people wanted a port so they could refine their skills or a new project completely.

They mention in the Cosmic Star Heroine thread that Sony strongly suggested they make a new project, rather than a Port. And they personally decided to dive right into this game, rather than taking on their "All-Stars" project.

It still will probably happen later... just not now.

Is PSM not available for all EU countries or am i missing something?

I downloaded it from settings and there isn't a PSM tab in shop.

You're not missing anything, it's only available in select EU countries. I'm in Sweden and can't get it, which is quite stupid as there are quite a few PSM games I'd have liked to have tried out and supported. From what I've read about the (lack of) success of PSM it's not really like they can afford to exclude substantial parts of the potential audience for these games.

Has anyone who recently purchased a Vita noticed a yellow tint?

Or if they already had a Vita, when you got a second or saw a new one afterwards, did you notice the screen was yellower?

I know OLED blue organic material breaks down faster so they tint it yellow a bit sometimes so it stays balanced for longer.
My original doesn't have the tint. Or I'm not sure if it just went away after a while.

Thanks guys. Thinking about sending it back to amazon, it's really nice though.

Velocity Ultra please

I bought games for my Vita, but I hardly play any of them :(

Hell I haven't even passed the 1st chapter of Soul Sacrifice :( And I didn't touch stuff like Thomas Was Here or Guacamelee too.

Every time I see new shiny stuff I want to buy them but after buying them I hardly play them :(

I hope someday a great scientist can invent a cure for "Buy Everything But Don't Play Anything" syndrome :(

Bought:

Velocity Ultra (insanely slick. Looks gorgeous, trophies, widescreen and the new ckntrol scheme is exactly what I wanted)

Pinball Heroes Complete (I like it. Just another variation. Got a small group of pinball addict friends, and we'll have fun competing... people who have any problems with Zen or Arcade sure ain't gonna find love here, and that's ok)

5 PSM games to round out my PSM/mini-Tetris bubble:
Bike Rider DX (great)
rymdkapsel (crazy good)
Gun Commando (finally... but wont work. Never leaves title splash screen. 1.11 PSM bug?)
Forevolution (will try in the morning)
Super Crate Box (been meaning to buy since PSM started)

Couldn't put all those in a cart, of course, not even on PS3 or the webstore because there is no PSM section on those. At least everything downloaded without locking up.

Hit the 100 app limit, even though I have 3 GB space on a 32GB card. Yay. Haven't done that since last summer. Had to delete 3 retail Vita games and the saves tied to them. Haven't had this problem for a long time... no wonder I stopped buying PSM games and never picked up Super Crate Box.

21 of the apps are utility stuff like settings/trophies/camera etc and about 5 web apps I always use. One of them is Welcome Park, which is completely useless and cant be deleted. C'mon, Sony at least me delete that one.

Movies and music could be one thing, in theory, and I cant use either one anyway because of space constraints. That's what Music Unlimited is for (at home, anyway). I've already got like 50 PSP, PSOne, digital and retail Vita games and several minis that aren't on my system... I think I've made enough space and app limit concessions enough times already. They made folder bubbles so it can't ALL be memory card seller scheme... why not remove the limit?

Then I buy the season two pass for Pinball Arcade, download the new tables, and go back the Terminator 2 kickstarter... try to play Pinball Arcade and it tells me my ticket for laderboard access can't be authenticated. I assume that's yesterday's patch. smh

I just read that Tokyo Jungle is coming to Vita...via PS Mobile. *SMH*. Lame.

When PSM first came out I was excited because I thought we'd finally see some cool little apps to at least bring the Vita up to smartphone level functionality (ebook, pdf and comic readers for example). And the PC streaming app looked awesome.

Fast forward to today and I've given up on those things coming out of PSM. Oh well at least we got the definitive version of Super Crate Box out of it (though a full Vita version with trophies would've been better). And there are a couple of interesting-sounding PSM games I've yet to try out like Passing Time and that haunted house game.

It's simple, fun. Quick loading and UI. Looks colorful and sharp. No music, but nice sound effects. Reminds me of 2D pinball games from back in the GBC GBA days.

Flat rate for 6 tables... no DLC schemin'.

Nothing special. Buy if you're a pinball junkie. If not, try the demo, or pass.

Any news on The Walking Dead pack? With 400 Days coming out was hoping the Vita version would be here by now.

That's why I made a rule of not buying games until I'm ready to play them or at least, it'll be the game that I will be playing next.

Lol ast people not knowing if that video was serious or sarcastic :D It's done in a sarcastic way, but I genuinely did enjoy the game :)

Also, i sound like a 12 year old boy!? THANKS <3

We should have higher standards...
Look at whats possible on Vita!
I know what you mean, but i guess that gt6 can look way better than that screen.

Ubisoft is releasing a PrinceOfPersia custume for Rayman Legends exclusive for the Vita version. http://youtu.be/WXlsVfpuL0w?t=1m09s
And thats what I posted a few days ago

Connect the dots guys! :D

Believe?
Don't get your hopes up, but i would like a pop2008 sequel.

wowwww - did you all see this thread about Chaos Rings and Tokyo Jungle????

"Apparently it's in this week's Famitsu, I believe. 800 Yen. Optimized for Vita.

Good, tokyo jungle is top down though, it will cost 300yen only in the first week, 600yen otherwise.

yeah, I would say it could be argued that Cytus ( for the price) is atleast equal to DJMax, if not better.

As a side question I was curious if anyone else would be happy if the Ico/Shadow collection, and FFXIIHD were announced for the Vita. I know FFXII is not confirmed yet, but it would be pretty awesome to have every mainline FF outside of the MMOs, and XIII on Vita.

SE may not be willing to bother with a Vita port this time though since we arent getting Kingdom Hearts HD on vita.
Ico collection? No, i have it on ps3 and i'm not even playing it, those games have not aged well at all imo.
Vita needs exclusives or multis at max, not late ports that most of the people already have.
FFxii hd, multi with ps3 i guess, would be ok, but an exclusive new ff would be better

Shame, hope they can get parity for Season 2. Thanks

Eh. No big deal for me, personally. I can wait. I already own it and I'm not in a huge rush to play the new content, since it's supposed to be the length of one episode, altogether. They could delay it for longer if I could get a physical release.

I don't know if they'd schedule release around finishing up Vita versions of episodes as Season 2 unfolds... would all depend on if they're ahead of schedule, and if the people handling this port get constant access to keep parity. Will depend first on how well this sells, the critical/fan reception, how good of a job they do, and Vita's continued growth as a prospect.

Can't say I don't hope so too, though.

I love FFXII to death (possibly my favorite after VI), and even though I enjoy FFX/X-2 it's really just something I'm pinning my hopes on as a success so that we can get XII International HD and on Vita...

I really enjoy Ico/SotC. I was expecting the latter a long time ago, around when MGSHD Collection released. I'd gladly take it.
