Oh snap.

Well Hotline 2 was confirmed for Vita (psn) awhile ago, but I agree. The success that indies have been having on Vita is a positive because the more that happens the better the chances that we will see day, and date versions for the platform, and not have to wait months.

Also I did not know that Kevin Levine was an indie dev, I will have to remember that for future reference.

Getting stuck at "preparing to download" in the PSN store 9 times out of 10 now. Really annoying. I just got a vita this week but it looks like this has been a common issue for months now.

Are there any workaround a for it beside rebooting and trying again.

No there isn't. It happens to me once every few days too.

Yeah, sometimes I get it, sometimes I don't. For the first month it started it happened on every download. Power off is all you can do.

Something that might help, but has still given me the bug, is putting it in your DL history via purchase on the webstore first https://store.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/#!/en-us/home/games

...can transfer games from PS3 as well, however neither PS3 or the webstore have a Playstation Mobile section (which is foolish). Downloading to PS3 takes just as long, possibly even longer, to download... and then transferring it to your Vita via USB can take longer than the download did.

If nothing else, using the webstore lets you use a shopping cart, but while shopping you might want to look on your Vita's store to see if it's on the PSN store there just to be absolutely 100% sure it's compatible if you're buying some PSP/PSOne/Mini games. ie: Gungnir for sale on PS3 says just said PSP when I was looking at it a couple weeks ago, despite it being in the Vita store and totally compatible with Vita.

Damn these are nice. Wish they weren't in german though. I sort of can tell which houses these are, but...german.

Well here is the site I get all my wallpapers from
http://wall.alphacoders.com/by_sub_category.php?id=146162

This is the game of thrones section, but they have all kinds of awesome themes, and you can actually choose a Vita resize for every wallpaper under the "more resolutions" option.

The best site I have found for Vita wallpapers imo.

So I've been messing around with Stencyl for a while and am getting to the point where I have a simple game ready to publish on the iOS App Store. This got me thinking though, what if I could make Vita games with that too? I'd love to do that am I'm sure I'm not the only one. I've tweeted Shahid about this now.

Anyone else working with these tools interested in a Vita export option? Let's make our voice heard, maybe we'll get something out of it if there's enough interest :)

Silent Hill is on sale for quite cheap. I normally don't like these type of games. What does GAF say?
Another option is Lego Batman 2 but i checked and found that they have cut the open world aspect of it. I did play it on 360 but never finished it.
If i don't buy either of them, i am thinking of picking any of the Atlus RPGs along with Tokyo Jungle Mobile.

That could be awesome. Some great games are made in gamemaker and my game was made in stencil :)

- SH Book of meh is very flawed game, I wont recommend it.
- Lego Batman 2 is a 3DS port completely different than the console version.
- If you want a Persona game, get P2IS P2EP and avoid P3P abomination at all costs, it's a very bad port with removed contents.
- why not you get Gurumin ($15)?

Let's give some real information. P3P removes most of anime cutscenes and 3D exploration outside of Taratarus, you essentially got static screens instead of 3D fields and points that you can interact with. This messes up with immersion. The game however adds a femal protagonists, if you so wish to play as her, she arguably has better social links. You are also able to control all your characters, unlike in the original and FES, where you can only control the protagonist.

All in all, I prefer FES (which also includes an extra chapter) but P3P is far from a garbage version.

Honestly I don't like that type of game either. In my case, I think I'll just add $2.5 more and get SH Origins. I loved it on my PSP and this is a very reasonable price for the digital version.

If someone is looking for an Atlus RPG, I'd hope P4G is already at the top of his or her shopping list.
Well... i was talking about the weekly sales. Some of the Atlus published PSP RPGs are selling for cheap and i haven't played either of them.

And from the comments here, i am certainly not picking up SH and Lego Batman from the Summer Sales. Not really interested in Origins, i finished it way back on PSP and didn't really like it much.

No impressions for Tokyo Jungle?

You need to read previous pages lol, been tons of very positive impressions for TJM

I love it :)

Any emulators for arcade games (MAME and the like), C64 (VICE), Atari (Stella), Odyssey2 (O2EM) buildable and deployable on the Vita? I soooo want to play some portable retro stuff.

I've never had the "preparing for download" stall bug.

However I do often have to mash the "would you like to share your purchase to friends" dialog before it goes away.

Maybe the bug only happens to people who have turned off the "share your purchase" notifications? Just some idea I had.

Friendly reminder: Silent Hill Book of Memories is not a Silent Hill game. It's a generic dungeon crawler with a Silent Hill theme slapped on it.

It's great. Really surprisingly good mobile version of the PS3 game. Certainly worth $3.

No I get the bug all the time and have not disabled that notification.

Not everyone wants to play a high school based RPG though. And Persona is not really the typical JRPG, either.

You have a big story aspect, and on the flip side, heavy dungeon crawling, sorta

There's tons of that stuff for the PSP, but for the Vita you need an older firmware and the right game on PSN, which you have to use to load the custom firmware (in PSP mode).

I've never had the download bug either but if I did, I think it'd drive me to drink.

It's such an integral part of the vita's job!

Sony need to get across this.

Thanks for the replies. Love my VITA :D

Unfortunately, i only have $9 for purchasing stuff. I will add more since i also have to renew my PS+ subscription this month but since the Weekly sales and Tokyo Jungle Mobile($3) will end this week, i have decided to purchase the following games for now.
1. Tokyo Jungle Mobile ($3)
2. Crimson Gem Saga ($3.5)
3. Riviera: The Promised Land ($2.5)

Total = $9

What you say GAF?

Meh @crimson gem saga. But that's just me. Haven't played the other two.

huh...is the simpsons still popular? what the target audience for the simpsons?

but well Sony at least is trying.
Pretty much all ages, but if Sony really has landed Simpsons sponsorship, that means they pretty much saturate the channel in the early evening seven days a week. Considering Sky One is pretty much the most popular "premium" channel (as in you need to pay a subscription to get it), that's a good idea.

[Edit] It appears that it also means that they're sponsoring Futurama, since Sky bundled the two shows into the one package.

Love PS+ Zero Escape was so amazing played like 35-40 hours and was hooked on the game played for like 5 days constantly. Vita needs more big games like this that actually make sense on a Handheld and are so much fun.

Also question: I have Persona 4 PS2 version which I started on my PS3 a while back I think I was several hours in 2nd or 3rd Dungeon but not really that far in. I am planning to start playing again is there any value in playing the Vita version P4G and starting over again?

Also is the game something I would enjoy more on the big screen?

Personally, I found Persona 4 more palatable on the Vita than its PS2 counterpart because of the sleep save function, instead of wasting a warp item and saving by Teddy. Although that's one plus, there's also the added content, such as extra dungeon, Marie's S-Link, and it's generally a game you'll want to play in short bursts.

Since you're only starting from the second or third dungeon, yeah, it might be good to pick up the Vita version. Unless you're absolutely not the kind of person who enjoys gaming on a small screen (smaller, the OLED screen is pretty impressive and renders P4G in an amazing light), and I do admit, the change of some notable voice actors may push your buttons (Chie!), then you could stick with the PS2 version.

Well, it all depends on how you want to play I guess. I enjoyed P4G because it was portable, easy to do minor things at a time such as building an S-Link for a night, or going up a floor in a current dungeon without having to clear out to Teddy, or soldier on to the end. Depends on your perspective.

Ahhh, so definitely easier on the PSP? Luckily I have one of those sitting around collecting dust, and now that I've moved on to the Vita I'm not too worried about messing it up. I may just mess around with it. Thanks!

Can I get some psp recommendations please?

I never owned one so I don't know the source material... Any suggestions welcome - nothing too "grindy" :)

I have UMDs of GTA:LCS and GTA:VCS (and the PS2 discs, some exclusive there, R*, haha). Is it worth the $20 for each on the Vita? Do they ever go on sale? Not hearing the drive grind would be nice, for one. Are the graphics sharper? The text on say the boot screen of VCS is blurry on my PSP1000. Finally, did they do anything to change the controls to take advantage of the extra analog stick?

Edit: Reading reviews, no update for second analog. That's a shame. Still may be worth it for the no drive noise, perhaps. But $20, man...

Ape Escape On the Loose
Ys Chronicles
Metal Slug Anthology
Untold Legends Warrior's Code
Patapon 2 (last I checked codes are super cheap on Amazon)

One of my friends recommend it to me a while back. I know that it is requires grinding but i don't mind it :). The graphics looks neat and would love to play it on VITA OLED

I bought Crimson Gem Saga this week and overall it's pretty boring. The battles are incredibly slow with almost no variation to them. Characters share SP which unlocks moves so you have to choose who gets moves and who doesn't. Team members that don't participate don't get xp. It's a pretty bland rpg. I've spent about 10 hours playing it and done about 2 hours of nonrepetetive actions. also movement speed is slow which makes backtracking incredibly annoying.

I also bought Yggdra Union, never played a card type rpg. It's arguably way better than CGS. It's has way more depth than CGS and it's a dollar cheaper. battles are pretty quick and the tutorials help even though there were some things that I didn't pick up on.

Overall get Yggdra Union over Crimson Gem Saga. You save a dollar and a ton of wasted time.

Okay, I want Broforce on Vita.

'90s action film characters, co-op, fully destructible environments. Gonna get at Shahid!

Oh man, me too. That's awesome.

I wonder if something like that is too indie to be on PSN, though, what with all the "likenesses" - parody is supposed to be exempt, the way spitting image was. Just thinking because Stealth Bastard had to be Inc, so I assume it's slightly stricter on random things than Steam is.

I dont think "Bastard" was changed because it was a parody. I dont even think Sony had anything to do with the change since curve said they wanted to change it on their own for sake of image. I imagine it was changed for the PSN release because many believe Bastard to be a swear word.

DiveKick is a parody, and thats fine also. Some of us have tweeted Shahid, and @Free_Lives about it, but I have not gotten a direct response on it from either. I dont know if anyone else has had any luck.

Also for anyone who is interested in PSM releases, this week looks like it will have a sizable amount of releases. Im most interested in a roguelike called "Adventure Bar Labyrinth", but one of the release was a winner of a Sony PSM gamejam called "Hermit crab in space". I cant tell what it is exactly from screenshots but it looks alittle Armadaish for anyone who may have played that.
