Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | July 2013 | Slow Month, Fast Games

How's Ys 7? Now that Terraria's been pushed back I think I might use my funds for it.

Ys Seven is a really fun game. Plot is pretty generic, but the combat is quite satisfying and fast-paced. If you get it, I'd recommend starting on one of the harder difficulties as Normal can be a bit on the easy side once you've gotten used to the gameplay.

I want Rogue Legacy on my Vita SO BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is all.

I love the game.

But guys in this thread completely ignore it (lack of demand to Shahid and Cellar Door Games) same thing with "A Hat in Time" a game that the devs are open to port it to other platforms, people here only care about the shitty old indie it seems.

I will always love The Simpsons, doesn't everyone who grew up with them? I'd kill for a new Hit & Run style game (just not an exact remake)

I grew with old Japanese anime (Grendizer, Shin Tetsujin, Plawres Sanshiro) ..my childhood was a mess :(

as for The Simpsons, I dunno, in my country we only got the first season few years ago and they never got any other season it because no one care.

People don't often talk about PC games in the Vita PSN Game thread, though I'm sure the game will become a "shitty old indie" for you when it ever comes to the Vita.

well people here often post requests that are going to send to Shahid (or tell people to support that request by tweeting) and I just saw lack of that for RL or AHIT -which the dev are open to port it to other systems- maybe there was requests on twitter I dunno.

People did request Rogue Legacy both in this thread and on his twitter account.

.

Im not sure what your talking about, but im open to all indie games as long as its something that appeals to me. Some games that I have been talking to Shahid about are Tiny Barbarian, Darkwood, Odallus, and Audio Surf air which are games that have either just recently released, or are not yet released. Sure there are some older indie games that I would love on Vita, and I ask those devs to, So im not sure why you think interest is limited to "old indie".

I honestly had not even heard of a hat in time before which is common even if you try to follow the indie stuff there is always new stuff popping up all the time and people miss things.

Do you have any information on the game? Anyone we can contact about bringing it to Vita? Hell even if I dont have an interest in the game I dont mind helping others out by supporting their interest in getting more games on Vita.

I'm normally not that type of guy to ask for ports but I wish Sony or some third party studio would port games that we actually want on the Vita. Seeing GOW collection being ported to the Vita just stupid...

I'll ask.

Dude, Rogue Legacy has been mentioned here plenty of times. Shahid has already said he's had a look at it, at least.

I dont think "Bastard" was changed because it was a parody.

DiveKick is a parody

I didn't intend to imply that it was, just providing it as an example of a recent Steam game seeing changes on PSN.

Divekick is a parody of fightings games, not celebrity likeness or fictional characters. No rambo, judge dredd, bruce willis, the governator etc

Parody, I believe, is protected as exempt from copyright infringement, so it is more than likely a non-issue. It only occurred to me as a I was recently listening to some indie devs positively speak about how they have little-to-no no restrictions in terms of content when it comes to likenesses. ie: if they want to make a Sesame Street Murder Sim with "Bosco the Grouch" they can.
.

Also, I love shitty old indies, shitty new indies, shitty ports, shitty exclusives, shitty multiplatform titles etc

I ask for everything. I'm probably blocked.

Thanks for clearing that, I missed those posts then..my fault.

Why do you love shitty ports?

I just looked at this on Amazon. Are codes like this for other games? I don't see any

I can't imagine why this concept didn't catch on. Full retail packaging...for a code on a piece of paper. ;) I love how there's just a space where a UMD should be.

Why do you love shitty ports?

Like the other categories, I don't really feel they are actually shitty. On ports in general, I want my system of choice to have as many of my favorite games as possible, new, old-ish, and old. What some may consider a major issue and pose as a hyperbolic game breaker is usually just a "no biggie" thing to me.

One objective of mine was/is to have almost the entire mainline FF series on my Vita. It's close to reality, and though the PSOne version of FFVI has the minute (my newt) loadtimes between battles and menus, it's still one of my all time favorite games, perfectly serviceable and playable. For me, it still stands as a high card in an extended royal flush despite any discrepancies.

Persona 4: Golden
Limbo
Rayman Origins
Machinarium
Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD
Sine Mora
Mortal Kombat
Hotline Miami
BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend
Dead Or Alive 5+
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection
Jak & Daxter HD Collection
Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3
Muramasa: Rebirth
Street Fighter X Tekken
Thomas Was Alone
Disgaea 3
Quell Memento
Plants Vs Zombies
Puddle
Jet Pack Joyride
Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken
Jet Set Radio HD
Ninja Gaiden Sigma+ 1 & 2
Big Sky Infinity

Those, excluding any games developed simultaneously as multi-platform releases, have all been great for me. Many see these as "shitty ports" or unwanted/undesirable, but it's the complete opposite for me.

I'm playing both Thomas and Soul Sacrifice at the moment, both great games. SS is starting to open up and it's becoming apparent that there's a massive amount of content in there.

Do we have any sales figures for how well each title did? Did it make the money back for Sony?

In february, Ubisoft said they have shipped close to 600.000 units of AC3: L and that they were happy with the sales.
http://m.neogaf.com/showthread.php?t=512154

People believe CoD: Declassified did better based on chart positions.
The bundles were also very popular, so I guess Sony did sell some Vitas with those big franchises. Surely they did not got their $12 million back but they have to moneyhat more titles if they want to get better Vita numbers.

yeah according to ********(quasi-reliable data) Cod vita did 740,000 units, sony did actually advertise both AC and cod vita, and both probably returned sales maybe above their expectations given the install base at that time.

i think both bode quite well for more 3rd party money hats down the line.

from the DC thread.

-Dragon's Crown PS3 version =1.5GB, Vita version = 1.1GB (Japanese Version from JPSstore) *US version should be bigger I guess

-Default movement controls = left stick +D-pad for item but you can switch that. *so d-pad for movment and stick for items, not ideal

@Robertto, VChartzz is BS and has zero the credibility and reliability for its data.

Thought some people might like to see these(dont think they have been posted)

A lot of the little banners there are way out of date. As 505Games explained before, we have so many controls iterations it is silly to keep updating them. I am pretty sure we are using L1 for Grapple right now, like on the console versions.

So excited to get a release date on this, going to be great on Vita.

I just looked at this on Amazon. Are codes like this for other games? I don't see any

Nope its just that Patapon retail is just a code in a box. Amazon doesn't sell PSN codes anymore. Though they did use to have sweet sales on them back some years ago.

At least that should run decently due to the Bluepoint Engine.

I haven't seen it mentioned but Dragon's Crown on Vita will use the touch screen for loot instead of having to move a cursor around with the sticks on PS3. One of the only complaints I heard coming out of E3 was that it was awkward to stop what you're doing and move the cursor around with the controller, so there's one benefit for the Vita version.

That was one thing I noticed from playing the PS3 version yesterday. Gonna take some getting used to.

Damn, this is just being silly. You can't handle opinions/posts from a dude and you do this? Why don't you just ignore him or something? Or skip his post or something like that. It is a bit mindblowing for me to see someone actually acting like this o_O

Anyways, folks, what kind of wallpapers are you using for your Vita? I am interested in seeing them.

I am using some captures from Hatsune Miku Project Diva f, DJMax Technika Tune and Senran Kagura games as wallpapers:

Okay, so I just watched that Silent Hill sequel on Netflix streaming, I've never really played a Silent Hill game, and I'm thinking of picking up the Vita one that's on sale right now. Thoughts?

Book of Memories isn't a proper Silent Hill game. It's more of a mediocre action rpg with Silent Hill theme and monsters, so no, if you are wanting a proper Silent Hill game.

Hotline Miami is so good on the Vita. I was skeptical that it would control well, but it feels just right. Highly recommended.

Hey all,
I'm a brand new GAF member and wanted to say hello.
This thread is the reason I registered to the GAF, I've been an anonymous reader here for a couple of months.

I've owned my Vita since launch and I enjoy it very much.
Currently playing Total Recoil, great game for a small price.

Welcome vitabro. Picked up Total Recoil myself the other day and seemed like a great little shooter, want to spend more time with it but hard to pull away from other games sometimes.

Vita GAF, suppose I bought a NA game for my Vita when my PSN account is EU/PAL. Can I play it and unlock trophies at the same time? My impression was you can't do anything for online multiplayer and DLC.

Speaking of PS1 games on VITA, EVERYONE SHOULD BUY LEGEND OF MANA. This is a gem of a game and only sells for $6 on PSN. Not only it is incredible fun, it is also full of characters to recruit and the gameplay in itself is also great.

If you buy a retail NA game, you can do anything with it except access DLC. You can play online if the game doesn't use an online pass.

Eh, I really need that "rumoured" 64GB card. I want more PSP/PS1 games but can't because I've hit limit of my 32GB. If famousmortimer were around he might suggest when such a thing will be released pretty please?

I am really digging Growslanser so far. Story has already become interesting 2 hours in.

Are there branching paths and where?

I can't tell you them exactly, but yeah, there are branches. Basically, they have to do with Interacting with the new characters from this port (that were intro'd in this PSP version), being a bit negative... and then one that I believe you have to beat the game once to get.

Some of the choices start kind of early into the game, but GameFAQs wiki for the game has a nice guide that tells you what one needs to do to achieve which path.

Trophies aren't a problem. You'll only run into issues with multiplayer if it requires an online pass since as it would need to be redeemed through that specific region's PSN store.

I hope XSeed announces Corpse Party Blood Drive (Isn't it Vita exclusive?) for localization sometime soon. Probably around the time Valhalla Knights 3 is out?

Been playing 特殊報道部 (Tokushu Hodoubu) lately and all the paranormal stuff has totally put me in the mood for more. So happy Vita is region free. :D

XSeed can't do much about localizing a game that's still in hush hush development period in Japan!

If anything, they should get crackin' at a Steam localization for Corpse Party 2. ♥

=O Is Corpse Party 1 on Steam or something?

Nah. Corpse Party 2: Dead Patient is PC-only (for now).

Edit: Since it's gonna be asked inevitably: Dead Patient is a sequel to the series in general, has a new location, plot, etc. Blood Drive is the same-universe sequel to Blood Covered and Book of Shadows, which take place in Heavenly Host Elementary.
