I'm so happy for you and it was so great to be part of this whole week for you! I'll make my way down to Rio sooner than later.

Vita is Life!!

I finally caved and got the walking dead bundle last week and picked up P4G instantly. I beat the game on the PS2 years ago (once and got the bad ending too lol).

Am I the only one that just cannot stop playing this game? The music, the battles, the links, EVERYTHING about it makes all the other games I have feel like a waste of time. I started demos of Spelunky and Super stardust and the only thing that came to my mind was: "I could be spending this time in the tv!". I loaded my 4gb with as many PS+ titles and I haven't even started them!

I can't believe I'm saying this but I hope P5 is a vita or a PS4 title so I can take it everywhere (where's there wifi in the ps4 instance).

Mazel tov! Now you'll always have someone cool to play multiplayer games with. Ain't life grand?

Come on now, that's a Square Enix issue.

I don't think the compatibility of PSOne games on Vita is the responsibility of the publisher here. FFV, just like the Crash games, Spyro games, R-Type games, etc. all work on PSP in what is, to my understanding, the same PSOne emulator. It's not like Birth by Sleep or Crisis Core where a licensing issue is preventing Square Enix from putting it up. It works on PS3, it works on PSP, it works on Vita in EU and JP. I'd love to hear why it really doesn't work on Vita in NA. Maybe I'm wrong. But without an official statement from either party here I'm inclined to think it's SCEA's fault, like the rest of the compatibility issues with PSOne titles (as well as the PS+ content, etc.).

It's unlikely to be a technical issue. Every piece of content on the PS Store is licensed by SCEA, which then licenses it to us. If they can't get a license from the publisher, they can't let us have it. Licensing works differently in different territories.

This actually might make sense.
However, if true, I don't understand why a publisher like Activision would deny the Crash/Spyro games in NA when they granted licenses in EU and JP... especially when that stuff is already licensed for use on PSP and PS3.

Sure lists are always subjective, but Gravity Rush # 25, no Thomas was alone, no Soul Sacrifice, Plant vs Zombies on the list???!, are some pretty huge mistakes in my opinion. I think I remember Colin not liking SS, but did they even play Thomas was alone? Also pretty terrible order (Unit 13?...)

Also an amazon refer-link under every game? Wth Ign?

There's a lot of problems with that list.
But I'm inclined to ask, are you complaining that Unit 13 is in the list (it should be) that it's ranked higher (wrong) or lower (probably) than it should be? ;)

Plants Vs Zombies should be on there. Most complete version of a modern classic.

I tried to make a list of everything I own and enjoy and can't whittle it down to 25 or put them in any order.

No Wipeout 2048. No Virtue's Last Reward. No Soul Sacrifice. In it's place, Dokuro, Escape Plan and fucking PvZ. This list has a TON of issues.

And did anyone see the podcast they put out to "justify" their choices? They basically just recounted the list and answered questions along the lines of "will we see X on Vita". Just. No. Their list is shocking.

At least they got #1 right.

It is a SCEA thing, FFV is compatible in europe and Japan.

SCEA, like always.

I just don't understand this. WHY? I mean, technical reason? Legal reason? Just WHY?

Really jealous :P

The only woman ever to say yes when I ask her for marriage came to me one month before the date, saying that she's in love with someone else and that she's fucking with him behind my back. This is after every relative I have under the sun knew that I am gonna marry her and me + my family has spent a lot of money and time to prepare the occasion....

...

......

Now I need to play something to cheer myself back up.

I just bought a Vita and I like how the memory card package (8GB) said it could hold "2-4" full games.
Probably should save "2-4" full PSP games. I could barely fit two Vita games on it. (actually I couldn't) :(

I really, really don't like that there's no PvZ, no Guacamelee, no Spluenky, no Walking Dead, and no Lone Survivor. It seems like more of the better Japanese games are being imported to the west, but few of the western games (especially indies) are coming to Japan.

I mean, I just got my Vita and still have Soul Sacrifice, P4 Golden, and Dragon's Crown (wow, all JP games) to keep me busy, I'm just worried at the how the trend will play out in the future.

I just don't understand this. WHY? I mean, technical reason? Legal reason? Just WHY?

At least she broke it off. Better than finding out after you got married (or worse, after you have children.) :/

Shit, man, that sucks. Oh well, the one ok thing about bullshit like that is it gives you the kind of past heartbreak stories that would make the next girl with any sense think "damn, this guy must really care about me if he's willing to try again" - chicks dig scars, basically

Depends on the games, i had uncharted, gravity rush and Wipeout and a smaller one (i think it was Little Kings Story) on my 8gb card.

mm interesting - there are a bunch of people here who are not fans of UGA, but theres an equal, if not larger amount that consider it 2nd best in the series. No one likes the forced touch gimmicks obviously, but since it was a first year game it was probably mandatory for them to incorporate as much as they could. many people do find the combat to be the most satisfying part of the game - at first the gyro aiming is a little wierd, but once you get used to it, you can't live without it. it makes picking off head shots so awesomely simple. honestly for what it is, i think Bend did a great job transitioning the uncharted experience to the vita, which im sure was no easy task. you do only consider U2 a 7/10, which seems lower than most peoples opinions, so maybe uncharted just ins't a series for you. I still think it's definitely one of the more worthwhile games in vitas library. hopefully youre able to find some other games to enjoy sinking your teeth into!

Well, like mentioned I found U2 to be a good game so 7/10. I try to rate from 1-10 instead of 6-10 as much as possible. U2's early stealth section was boring, some instadeath invisible walls got me and there wasn't much incentive to replay the game. Apart from those, everything else was solid fun. Unlike a lot of other people I actually really enjoyed the twist and the final boss. I only played U2 MP for about 2 hours but if I gave it more time I'm sure I would have rated the game higher

I'm enjoying P4G a lot right now, then switching to Muramasa from time to time. I have yet to spend time on Little Deviants but it looks quite interesting. There are still many other games I want to get and will eventually get.

Was trying Sly Cooper + Gravity Rush lol. Wouldn't work out, oh well. I tried Gravity Rush didn't really feel like my thing at the moment, but I'll go back to it later.

Compile Heart isn't done spamming Vita yet. It looks like they'll announce something on Monday.

lol nice

The browser version is getting a lot popular in Japan recently. Depending on what they are planning, this Vita version could sell well. But personally, I hope there's a physical release so I can play without changing my account.

Yeah I hope it's a brand new title and not just a port

Our own famous insider who doesn't want to be quoted on it said it is Activisions fault that you guys don't have Crash or Spyro compatibility.
It's somewhere in this months thread. I would look it up, but he doesn't wants to be quoted ;)

anyone using a 3G Vita?
I just got another data simcard... wondering if it's worth getting a Black 3G Vita (gonna sell my White Vita)

Takao said:
Onimusha HD is pretty unlikely. Those games use prerendered backgrounds and I doubt Capcom made those assets above SD resolution.
So far every single PS2 "HD" port to Vita has been in original SD resolution, so this would fit right in.

I had a 3G Vita originally but had to switch to a WiFi Vita soon after (store I bought from had a defective batch of 3G Vitas). The 3G was convenient to have and I used it all the time. (Although maybe that was because I had just gotten a Vita so I was still excited about using every single feature that it had.)

These days with my 3G-less Vita I can always just opt to tether my phone but I hardly ever bother and just stick to playing offline whenever I'm outside a WiFi network. I don't miss the 3G at all.

EDIT: Plus, if you ever want to play multiplayer over 3G or LTE, tethering your phone is your only option. The Vita's 3G won't help you there.

A year and a half after initial release, and I still have yet to see anyone using a Vita in public. That alone would blow my mind. >.>

Haha me too, honestly as a "grown up" in a suit and tie on public transit, I feel slightly self conscious busting out the Vita and playing it. Mostly I use it on my lunch break or lying in bed / on the sofa at home or on vacation.
