It's been a while since I've heard about those drawing tablets thingies that you guys speak of in art threads and such. I've been thinking about getting a tablet now so I can get back into digital drawing (I got fed up with drawing with a mouse). So school me on the place to shop for these online. I'm not looking for the most expensive and biggest tablet since it will just be for fun (not making a career out of digital art or anything). I'm sure wacom isn't the only label making these things, by now at least.

wacom is the only decent digital tablet maker, though.

if you want it brand new just go to wacom.com and get yourself a graphire3. it's all that you should need.
if you don't mind an older model, go to ebay and look up wacom.

Sweet, I just posted about this in the what you got for Christmas thread.

It's probably easiest to order straight from Wacom but I got mine off Amazon. I too am going with the Graphire but I have a crush on the Cintiq <3

Does anyone know if the included software with the Graphire is worth anything? I'd like to get a nice drawing program but can't afford Adobe.

I've recently had a run in with a non Wacom tablet that was utter crap, but I don't know if that was hardware problem or a software problem (It was made by UC-Logic).

But then again, I've used others (namely Aiptek ones) that seemed fine.

By a rule though, you really should just stick with Wacom. Go really cheap (Graphire 2 or 3), or really expensive (Cintiq 18SX) is my advice. Ebay is full of new 4"x5" Graphires for around $75, and those should be good as long as you find the size big enough. Aim for 6"x9" Graphire 3 for around $200 if you need something bigger.

Search Pricegrabber if you don't want to bother with ebay. You should find some for less than retail.
