FORREST CITY, Ark. -- A couple of Forrest City Waffle House customers said they got more than expected with their meals early Friday morning.

"He was just coughing. Cough. Cough. Making noises like that," Antonio Robinson said.

Robinson said his friend found hair in his food.

"I looked up at him," Robinson explained. "He went to pulling out strings of hair out his mouth."

The duo witnessed employees doing their hair in the kitchen of the restaurant and recorded the incident on their cellphones.

"She dipped her hair down in the pot and when it came back up she was drying it off with one of the towels," Robinson told WREG. "I see people do that in their houses and things like that but for a restaurant, I don't know."

St. Francis County health inspectors launched a full investigation into the video.

One local inspector said any time hair is found in the kitchen of a restaurant, it is a health violation.

WREG took the problem to the store's manager

While management would not allow cameras inside of the facility, he said the employees in the video were fired.

Reporter: Is that acceptable at all?
Manager: That's not acceptable. That's why we terminated them.

Reporter: Were you outraged at all when you saw it?
Manager: I was embarrassed. But it's all taken care of now. That's all I can say.

WREG was referred to the company's corporate offices in Atlanta.

A spokesperson emailed the following statement:

"We were made aware of this via a Facebook Private message this morning. We immediately reached out to the local management team. After identifying the parties involved, they were immediately terminated. The health department has been out to the restaurant for an inspection which it passed, and they have closed the case.

We do not tolerate these behaviors and strive to provide a clean, safe environment for all our customers."

"People can learn from this and be cleaner everywhere and keep people from getting sick," Robinson said.

WREG obtained a copy of the health inspection report conducted Tuesday afternoon where the company passed.

Investigators noted floors needed to be cleaned under the kitchen cooking equipment.

You don't know?

I would have barfed on the spot.

Also, never get ice from a gas station drink dispenser.

I used to compile health inspection reports for a local newspaper.

Never eat at a restaurant. Any of them.

In NYC it's interesting because you can actually look up he health report for each restaurant and see the violations. I don't recommend doing it before eating somewhere even if the place has an "A" rating.

Ive seen some sketchy places with A ratings. Really makes me wonder what the fuck happened in places with less than an A rating.

Ewwwwww.

I typically don't go out to eat, but once or twice a year, my wife and I go to a pretty nice steak joint near us. The food is excellent, but I try not to think about anything that might be going on behind the kitchen doors.

Don't think about your steak being potentially dropped on the dirty kitchen floor by accident but the cook not wanting to waste or be reprimanded for having to throw away a pricey steak threw it back on the grill for a couple seconds to grill the "dirty floor stuff" off before putting it on your plate.

No, don't dare think of that possibly happening.

I thought that said White House for a minute...

I've seen the health code violations and losing an A rating is almost impossible. Like you've gotta have rats and shit running around or leaky pipes. Stay away from places with less than an A, trust me dude.

Lmao, the balls on her to do it right in the open.

Obviously it's unsanitary as well as extremely gross, but I'm genuinely curious if there's any serious health risks that could arise from eating hair, anyone know?

Do people not chew their food? It's pretty easy to tell when you have a hair in your mouth, before getting to the coughing stage. Still sucks for the customers though of course.

All I know is...I NEVER send back food. Don't start none, won't be none is my thinking on that. Ordered medium rare but it comes out well done?? I shut up and eat it (which hasn't happened at this place, but there's a first time for everything).

That at least would lessen your odds of eating something nasty, anyway.

Waffle House is trash anyway. Was probably an improvement of whatever slop they were selling.

Steak n Shake is better if you're getting drunk breakfast food or diner food in general. Even McDonalds is better.

You can in Cali, too.

One of my instructors used to joke that he didn't trust any Chinese restaurants with grades above C. Yes, he was Chinese.

It's terrible, and the equivalent of begging to be stabbed or end up in a worldstar video. Food is stupidly overrated, and the people there are worst than Walmart.

Exactly. Made that mistake once and will never do it again. I'd almost rather risk walking into a Denny's.
