I mean for anyone who was around in 1983 and 1984 at least Atari, Coleco and Intelivision games were in actual bargin bins marked down to $1 to $5 per game. it was such a great time to pick up so many great games. God bless physical games.
Not that I truly believe Xbox is dead, but I'm really curious if there could be some class action by customers if they suddenly lose access to their libraries. Not sure how much notice they would have to give, or if offering cloud streaming would be a legal loop hole.
Xbox is laughably dead but hopefully they don't drag down Double Fine and Arkane with them
I'll take you up on that wager. Who the fuck is buying an Xbox now? They will probably sell any in stores cheap and stop ordering them for online. With the price increase I'd wager they'll sell through the remaining stock and that'll be it for the Series Box
My refrigerator doesn't have a disc drive either, because, like your pc, it's not a gaming device. The last 4-5 PCs I've built haven't had disc readers

Ever stop to think that MS is a big enough company that the profit losses in the gaming division are just a tax write-off to help offset the profit gains in their other divisions? Are the Microsoft board in a coma? How does Phil still have a job after what he's overseen.
Still have a job? He's probably getting bonuses quarterly due to all theAre the Microsoft board in a coma? How does Phil still have a job after what he's overseen.

We've already sent an armada to beat Phil Spencer:The real question is, what's happening in Spain?

Walmart still has movies? lol
Wowzers. I thought Shooty-land was an Xbox feud.My local walmart hasn't had an xbox console to sell in months. It's dead Jim.
It makes sense if you think about it in terms of making more space for items that will actually sell. An overpriced dead item, will still sit on the shelf, holiday or not. It's also weird that they are doing it right before the start of the Christmas shopping season.
You'd think they would want to push Xbox as much as possible through December.

Strange is Xbox denying reality. Their brand is at an all time low and it feels it's all on purpose.
They keep pushing Game Pass and phase out their consoles slowly until nothing remains. Legit doubt there will be a proper next-gen hardware.
Phil Spencer : Ok.....how we can ruin Xbox brand at fastest rate ?
Sarah Bond : Ok, we first quit producing consoles...then we increase the price of consoles, then we port all first party games to PS and Switch,
finally we increase price of GP at ridiculous rate so none wants to subscribe.
Phil Spencer: That's what I'm talking about !!!
Employee of the year !!!
For this plan we will give you double bonus this year!!!
I guess some of their employees took MS "This is an Xbox"-marketing to heart.
Soon there will be diapers, beer, toothpicks, celebrity gossip-magazines etc. in the Xbox section
They are doing a Sega Saturn with double or triple the sales of Sega Saturn. What a bunch of idiots.
Wow, they've sold so well that they keep selling out?! Everyone trying to get one before the next price increase! My local walmart hasn't had an xbox console to sell in months. It's dead Jim.
Yes. Pull a product from the shelves that we can still actively sell in droves. Not a surprise. I wouldn't be shocked if Walmart and the others pull out of gaming entirely, including Nintendo and PS by 2027.

But with 2-3X the install base to sell them services and games with a 30% cut to themselves. It's beyond me.By mid 1997 Sega selling consoles at a big loss and not selling enough software to compensate.
Xbox found themselves in a similar situation, hence the price increase.
