Watch_Dogs |OT| PS4 would probably melt trying to do this

There seems to be varying stories on this. I've read that the season pass won't be available digitally on it's own and only comes bundle with the game or you can buy it physically from EB Games for $29.95.

Thanks. Might just shell out for the deluxe version anyway($115, ugh) and get the season pass when I trade some stuff in at EB if or when it shows up.

If you're going digital why not just get it from the US store and save $35?

I don't have any US PSN credit at the moment, and honestly it's just more convenient to get my CC billed directly from PSN than bother getting some right now.

I guess I shouldn't really complain about price when I'm that lazy.

Are you serious? I figured I'd grab the season pass for 20 if I liked the game after I got it for the first day. Now they're holding it ransom behind that gold bundle? There isn't even an upgrade path? That's bogus. Unless it goes live on the release date.

Just don't expect it to be there at 12:01 may take up to 45 min to show up. Was that way with wolf.

I'm good with that, as long as it's not 6PM when the rest of the store updates on the 27th. I work until 7:30 AM Tuesday morning so I'm hoping I can initiate the DL from work so it can be ready for me to go when I get home from work.

I found it funny that there are probably three or four active Watch_Dogs threads going on now and all of their contents are now civil and reasonable discussions.

What a turnaround. Never seen one that big on GAF.

At the moment, that's how it's set up. I wouldn't be surprised if they did it to get people pre-ordering the bundle and releasing the season pass afterwards.

It'll probably be up at release. The standalone season pass can be purchased on Steam, Xbox, and Uplay so I'm sure it'll be the same on PSN.

Doubtful. Why would they hold the season pass behind the gold edition?

It will probably go up when the game launches, just like the AC games.

So what's relatively the best pre-order bundle for PC? I don't like advantages because I like to play the game as it should be. I want the most bang for my buck though if I'm going to pull the trigger on pre-ordering.

Well you would have to question why they have made the season pass available on other platforms already but no sign of it as a standalone on the PS store.

Publishers like money, it will be up on the store after launch. There is no way they would say no to more money.

Does the game have day/night or is it like Infamous where missions set the time? I don't remember what resting said in the hide out

I've seen at least one mission that forces the time of day. Not sure if they all will do that or just some.

However, through the resting option in the hideout, you can choose to advance time to a time of your choosing if you don't want to wait naturally for day to become night or vice versa.

The very beginning of this video shows the time change I'm talking about.

Assassin's Creed games do something similar. There is a day/night cycle, but some missions force a specific time.

AC4 had a gold edition, as well as a season pass. So I am basing this on ubi's past history. Really doesn't make sense to hold it at ransom.

I pre ordered the standard digital, and if I really like what I am playing, I will buy the season pass.

I actually hadn't noticed it on the walkthroughs I've been watching, but since the question was asked I had to search multiple videos of the same mission to find out. It's disappointing but ultimately since as some missions wouldn't make sense at any time of the day. Hopefully they do still have some missions that you can do at any time (I'm sure they do, I just don't have the time to sort through multiple gameplay videos to confirm, as there's only one day until release).

I never played AC4 so I have no idea but this from the Ubi Blog is probably enough to confirm it's coming....

Grab the Season Pass for $19.99 on the PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.

So, does this game actually make you feel like a cool badass hacker?

In Assassin's Creed, I felt like an assassin maybe 10% of the time.

That video also proves that most if not all of the cutscenes are real-time. Nothing more jarring than having an alternate costume on and then going into a cutscene to see the regular costume. Also, not seeing any differences from that and the tgs 2013 demo.

Thing that's bothering me the most is some of the faces are so terrible, mainly the main protagonist. Lifeless eyes really give him that dumb look.
Ubi should go see Crytek or Remedy for some of that face tech.

With Watch Dog's E3 2012 trailer, Bioshock Infinite, etc. it makes me wonder if more video games will use a bait and switch to generate initial hype.

Watch Dog's still looks great, but not even on the same level as what we initially saw.

To be honest... not really. When you actually infiltrate systems, it's kinda like a Pipe Dream/Pipe Mania style minigame where you rotate things to facilitate the flow of data to points that have to be unlocked. Some are timed, some aren't. Some are simple, some are very complex.

Beyond that, hacking is really just "hold X"/"hold square". That isn't to say it isn't fun but if you're expecting some kind of technical hacking minigame you may be a bit disappointed.

Well hopefully the backlash they receive will make them learn not to do that for their next game... Hmmm yeah, who am I kidding.

Yup, AC4 has tons of shitty moments, esp with AI and animations, unbelievably stupid ai, I can run around a town assassinating guards in front of others and barely getting them to react. I like AC3s settings and think its visually better then 4.

Because what 4 lacks in clever AI and things like that it makes up for with the amazing ship mechanics, beautiful/expansive open world, interesting exploration IMO (albeit a bit tedious at times) and a main character who you don't want to punch in the jaw constantly.

IV is my favorite AC game, III my least favorite. I can forgive IV's shortcomings because of it's strengths, and in that department it clearly outclasses ACIII.

I don't think it's a intentional "bait and switch" for the most part. I would guess most of it comes down to early ambitions for a game not surviving the actual development process.

That's a shame.

Oh well, at least I can feel more like Sam Fisher instead.

I would be more likely to agree with you if the E3 2012 trailer wasn't heavily scripted. For example, when the traffic lights are hacked, cars are generated to help create a huge pile up. That'd never work in the real game, because the player has control of the camera.

Is the story mode really 35hrs long and supposedly 75hrs to fully complete it (100%)

(I read those numbers somewhere)

So they say...

Creative Director Jonathan Morin responded on Twitter to a question about the length of the game’s story mode.

@vytla102 I would say the average player which does free roam a bit tend to reach the end within 35-40h. But doing everything is close 100h.

Ah so Bioshock hacking then. Well, pipe dream is fun at least.
