New boxes are potentially arriving in 2026-2028. It takes 5+ years to make games now.
From a first party perspective, I'm thinking that some, if not all, games we already know about right now might be launch titles for new boxes rather than late generation titles.
Boring, I know, but it would make sense.
Could still have scaled back cross-generation versions too of course.
They'll probably spread them out, year 1-3, but these are all potential next gen titles now as I see it:
Xbox:
Fable
Forza Horizon 6
Gears of War E-Day
The Elder Scrolls VI (not likely)
State of Decay 3, if still in development, should be there too. Pretty much everything we know about, well except The Elder Scrolls VI I guess, could potentially be there near launch on the next Xbox.
No point wasting big titles on Series if rumours are true that a new Xbox will arrive in 2026-2027, right?
Halo ain't going to be there near launch this time though.
Maybe they'll have a new Wolfenstein?
What else is there?
PS6:
Saros
Wolverine
Intergalactic
The Last of Us 3 (no joke)
Those could be there for launch or first year on the next PlayStation if it arrives 2027-2028.
Maybe a new God of War too? Cory Barlog is working on a side story, should be for PS6, right?
Gran Turismo 8 would be big, or maybe GT Sports 2?
Horizon 3 is definitely coming.
Spider-Man 3 is known from the Insomniac leak.
Are there any big surprises that could pop up? Realistically. If so, what?
I'm thinking (hoping) that there is another Uncharted in development. They set it up perfectly both for another Lost Legacy and a continuation of main Uncharted. Needs to happen!
And Bloodborne Remake by Bluepoint.
And Rare can't just make Sea of Thieves. There HAS to be new Banjo, Conker or Viva Piñata coming, right? Another Oblivion-like remake project would be cool too. I wouldn't say no to Skyrim Remake!
