Who were these people that tried to tell everyone "Laughing at your own jokes is lame. Don't do it."

Of course anything can be taken too far to the extremes, but laughing at your own jokes, at the very least, signifies to others that your confident in yourself and open to fostering a pleasant atmosphere with those around you. The people that laugh at their own jokes are humanities best.

I constantly come up with funny shit at work that I write and/or say to my coworkers/customers. Often I don‘t even care how they‘ll perceive it. Just laugh myself silly when making it up.
