Websites that you used to visit daily in 2013 but you don't anymore in 2023?

What are some websites that you used to visit a decade ago but don't anymore and why?

Time is flying by and now things are just a memory when they were here just yesterday.

The Bethesda forum's, they no longer exist so i can't, and most of the gaming websites now apart from PC gamer, which i only visit maybe once every 2 months or so, their articles are just clickbait mostly to me nowadays and i don't see the point in reading them anymore, i can't actually remember anymore than that.

I don’t know what year I stopped visiting but the Magicbox was a Japanese gaming new site I used to really enjoy. Only others I can think of are Bogleheads and Cheapassgamer.
Okay.

This one Cheapassgamer!

I wonder if it's alivd and well and is it even needed today when you have people like Wario64 spam the good deals on Twitter anyways and way more easier to access? But who know knows. Ill probably check it out right now.

Same, because you got Japanese gaming news there first, then other places caught up with the reporting at the same time so no longer went..

CAG could have easily survived in the public light for way longer(and be way more popular) if they had just created a first party deal-tracker app and adapted with the times. Their website is severely out of date, their podcast distribution methods are out of date, their forums are out of date, their news distribution method is out of date, and their format for bite sized clips is almost non existent.

It felt like time had just frozen for them somewhere between 2008-2013 and they were okay with this lack of forward progress.

Digital Photography Review, sadly.
I stopped visiting because my brief interest for the hobby had waned, but it’s still sad that Amazon wants to suppress it.

Giant Bomb maybe. I think by 2013 I wasn't even really visiting it anymore. Their first 2 or 3 years were amazing though.

This.

And rock paper shotgun

They use to have some very acid/British humor tirades in their reviews and editorials.

Now they went full on the Kotaku way.

If you like board games, the Shut&SitDown have at least Quintin from old RPS. Though some of the modern stupidness has infected them a little even.

A little more than 10 years ago, but WWTDD was a daily visit.

I used to go to Engadget daily, now I just go to Youtube.

RockPaperShotgun

Their self-fart-sniffing writing style really appealed to me as a liberal English major. I've since become a non-reading apolitical bum, so I get my gaming takes and news from Gaf.

10 years ago, I used to frequent The Escapist very often. Then I kinda fell out of it due to college. Today it looks like a soyfactory.

18-20 years ago I used to frequent 1up forums and I adored them. I miss those days when gaming was fun and not filled with people who hate games/gamers/openly misandrist shitheads.

After years of Walking on Eggshells I finally told ERA Mods to go Fuck Themselves.
Way too late.

I know how you feel. I was there for like 2 weeks when they first opened up as my brother raved about them. I don't talk with my brother much anymore.

Ultimately banned because I dared say that Colin Moriarity wasn't an evil scum sucking pig, lol.

May I ask what was the final straw?
Well not one thing but over the last year being silenced/banned numerous times for disagreeing with the majority or friends of the mods lead me to become increasingly irritated and only one of those times was it even remotely related to politics. There mods are so drunk on power that they ban members for almost any disent at all not just for culture war wrongthink. Any wrongthink will do.

I had known for years that they where crazy but was still just putting up with it all and thought if I just never talk politics or touch certain types of hot topics I could avoid a ban. But over the last year it became incresingly obvious that even my constant preventative steps of walking on eggshells would never be enough for them. There facists plain and simple.Oh the Irony.

And yes Im an idiot for not leaving years earlier. Was kinda just masochisticly addicted to doomscrolling the very threads there I willfully censored myself from speaking up in. I kept thinking the more I learn about these freaks the better I could understand them and eventually talk them off there ideological ledge. Foolish I know.

All three just stopped being fun for some reason and I honestly can't remember why.
Also dropped Kotaku around that time for the same reasons as everyone else
