Full of mistakes and inaccuracies. Walls of text that aren't that well written. Very basic layout, no surprise.I have their gameboy book and their history/encyclopedia of JRPG’s which every fan of JRPG’s need to get.
This has to be one of the weirdest I’ve seen:
The PAL cover on the other hand looking like an 80s Japanese Super Sentai TV show
How this game became one of the most revered games of the 8 bit era in SPITE OF this box art and not because of it is the real story here. This is pretty much the textbook example of holy shit bad box art.
I’ve enjoyed it so far, I’d agree it’s not the best written book but it’s still a treasure trove of JRPG’s and a lot I’ve never even heard of. You have any recommendations on other books? I wrote a detailed review of it with a star rating of 2/5 and understood they never publish negative reviews. Tried to send it 3 times, while being an actual buyer of the book directly from their website.
It is not difficult to claim having 100% satisfied customers when you filter out negative reviews. Their book "Go Straight" was much better. Never buying from them again.
Vanquish was pretty underrated/overlooked.I always liked the Vanqish sleeve, with the 3d effect. Not only showing the main character, but also an important incredient of his moveset.

I haven't read a ton of video-game books, but as stated, Go Straight was excellent. Otherwise, I like official guides that are well made. I very often skim through FF trilogy, Dark Souls I/II, Sekiro and BotW guides. Not necessarily while playing the games. Future Press makes excellent guides. You have any recommendations on other books?
Cool books..I posted on pass threads this one :I love box art, anyone who likes this kind of stuff should check out some of these books. They can be kind of expensive though on Amazon and the publisher Bitmap books are usually sold out on a lot of them.
Atari box art is so damn awesome.Cool books..I posted on pass threads this one :
Best Atari book I have found..with information about each game and the company's story.
Nice!Another cool box art, this time for The Artful Escape.
Hell yeah. I'm tempted. Great box art.Mine came in yesterday and also this:
When I saw the teaser and the images for the first time, it caught my attention a lot.... And I wanted it to come to America. The good thing is that it arrived and its story is beautiful and bizarre, I have the game on PS3, PS4 limited edition and Nintendo switch.
tbh this one is still really shitty. I genuinely am growing to hate these styles of covers/posters where its just characters standing assorted vertically. Every movie does this now, super uncreative.except that's not the cover, that's the special edition cover (most likely quickly cobbled together last minute)
the real cover is this:
Nice! You've got good taste. I only own the PS4 version of the game physically, but I'll say that I like the PS3 box art more. When I saw the teaser and the images for the first time, it caught my attention a lot.... And I wanted it to come to America. The good thing is that it arrived and its story is beautiful and bizarre, I have the game on PS3, PS4 limited edition and Nintendo switch.
The SCEE-only card box version of this looked a lot better with more stylish logo, lighter branding and raised rain effect.
The artists/character designer is Akira Toriyama, the man behind the Dragon Ball franchise. This is pretty well drawn.
The first one is good, the second really weird, in a "sexualized child in a suggestive pose" kind of way.Bravely Default PEGI and ESRB releases on 3DS.
Its a fairy, most fairies are typically small creatures. The first one is good, the second really weird, in a "sexualized child in a suggestive pose" kind of way.
But maybe im getting old.
